When Alex Stubb texted Sergey Lavrov

- Watch a snippet from episode 2 of "The New World (Dis)Order" in which Professor Alex Stubb, Director of the Florence School of Transnational Governance, details his conversations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergej Lavrov on 27 February 2022, three days after the Russian attack on Ukraine.
Lavrov, strong with the narrative, weak with the truth.
And surprised when he gets laughed at.
It's a great story I heard during the long episode with this in it.... I just can't get over how approachable Prof Stubb is - yet he sits there cool as a cucumber talking about texting Lavrov😂😂❤
There is something IMMENSELY (and often hilariously) understated about Finns - I remember all too well the glory days of Group B and bugger me it took even the Germans every single drop of sweat to land one on the Scandis. I think it was Hannu Mikkola (aka The Flying Finn😂) who would step out of his Audi Quattro and give a little interview with a cheeky grin like he'd just played a practical joke on someone and was more interested in seeing the reaction than chit chatting about rallying...
Alex keeps a little more in reserve, but even when he is maintaining the dignity of the office as a former PM - he does it so LIGHTLY. It really is impressive!😎
Lavrov is one of the finest statesmen the modern world has right now and he has a sense of humor!
Lavrov plays dumb/stupid😂😅
This clearly expresses the primacy of deocratic regimes, if Lavrov were popular (and he is) he could change the situation, but this is an autocracy.
Pray for peace❤️✝️
Stop praying, it does not help. Act.
Future me 2044 telling a story to my grand kids: "..And the war ended with a single DM via insta to Russia." Who want's to hear next how I survived COVID19.
You were colleagues with Lavrov? None of them have ever veen legitimately placed on those positions, because russia has never had real fair and free elections, unlike Finland.
Congrats on winning the presidential election to go to next round 🎉
Rusia is Rusia
There is no real victory in every war. As the old proverb says : win becomes charcoal, lose becomes ashes. War brings only sadness and suffering. If more people, especially politicians and policymakers have 'hearts like children', then there may never be a word of war and history tells itself.
I do get the sentiment, but; leave little kids unsupervised in a closed room with not enough toys to go around and you'll have a cagefight 😅

Aren’t you afraid that your friend perceives your new investments in infrastructure, mainly the railroad connection to Gothenburg, as a NATO move to control the Yamal-LNG Natural Gas Facilities, in Sabetta?
When will the F35’s be operational?
That was very naive on your side, but at least you did something.
Lavrov, the best Foreign minister in living memory!!!! Cynical West cannot play him again and again!!!! 😊😊😊
Oikeesti, siis aikuisten oikeesti. Voisin laittaa tähän linkin Odessan virastotalon joukkosurmasta, mutta en kehtaa. Meillä vaan näemmä eri "historia".
Et pysty. UA-cam ei tue linkkejä kommenttikentässä.
So what?
I am a Karjalainen from the pentila and 2nd nephew of ashirti, I don't believe nuclear energy is a failure but our dependancy on russia provided reactors is, we need to create our own reactor and understand the design philosophes behind them, to long has the world not progressed beyond 1980s cold war era nuclear tech, thier is a need and opportunity for new inventive reactors, we should be the ones doing it
Alex is so pretentious
In what way?
Oksennus lentää😊
Jaahas. Miksi?
Surprised that he didn’t ask for nudes in exchange for stopping it, he looks like such a creep.
Vitun persu ei kukaan teidän puoluetta tue. Jos Halla-aho pääsis valtaan nii se antais Suomen venäjälle.
poor irrelevant guy
Yes really poor and irrelevant atleast now, a multimillionaire president
You Alex is still such a naive politician. Learn the rules of the game and stop releasing such videos!😅
naïve about what? The problem is that the pro-Russian side thinks their "take" is so profound and deep, because it IS NOT clear or apparent to everyone else. Just because it is clear to normal people that Russia started the war, does not make it a naïve stance. It just makes it a very clear and easy stance to hold, because it's what all the facts indicate. It is not clever to believe conspiracy theories and be a Dunning-Kruger candidate.
US right to spread it's sphere of influence, in a form of NATO, seems to be more important, than Ukranian lives or European stability. Is Stubb this childish in real life?
You're doing the same childish rhetoric that Lavrov did
@@supereero9
There is a lot of silly rhetoric going on on all sides of this conflict.
@@Slavic_Goblinnoce try of bothsideism. Easy to recognise method of russias side. We know russia is on the same side as Hitler and Stalin on this issue. Stalin got away with killing millions because he ended up on the winning side. Its up to us not to allow putin to do the same.

See, if there was a value judgement in my comment, you'd be correct. But there wasn't. It was merely a statement of fact.
Thus, you're wrong.
Also you might want to check what a non sequitur is.
Yep Stubborn is a silly 🤡
Im on the side of ukraine but russia did want to negoatiate even before the war but Zelensky and Boris Johnson denied to negotiate with russia saying "Russia is not to be negotiated with" We could have ended this war before it started if we just negotiated
Oh, poor russians! They wanted to negotiate, in order not to make a full scale invasion! They had already occupied Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk. Not counting two other regiões in Georgia. But all they wanted was a peaceful negotiation! It's not like, in the last three centuries, the tsars have tried to annihilate the ukrainian culture. It's not like the Holodomor ever happened. The muskovite regimes have always been so reasonable! It's all the fault of the Western influence, that those stubborn ukrainians didn't accept a negotiation that would mean surrendering without a fight. It's not like the russians have ever broken deals before, too.
That's just not true. Russia and Ukraine have had many agreements, ceasefires and each of them has been broken by Russia. Russia and Ukraine held multiple talks in the beginning of the war with Russia demanding Ukraine reduce it's army to merely nothing and give away it's territories. The Russian side has never taken any agreements or deals seriously and has always had the plan to fully occupy Ukraine.
I'm so touched that someone tried to privately beg them to stop. It couldn't have been easy to be toyed with in response. I commend the effort 🤍
Zelensky on juutalainen. Mutta ihan hyvä läppä, että olisi natsit takana.
Plaaplaa
Тебя же завалят. Не говори так.
We (the west) started this madness and now we pay the consequences. With that said I'm not justifying the invasion.
Except, we didn't. Putin started it but you already knew this.
Putin started this war because he wanted More power.
Which country attacked which? Russia or Ukraine? You may want to check before posting more nonsense.
@TurreTuntematon oh I missed it. Sorry.. I thought it was a proxy war between NATO and Russia using Ukranians to go and die instead. I must have read too much russian propaganda. The true is of course, that we are the good guys. Always.
