People are usually on these guys video talking about "who it sounds like" I've got a song that pretty much goes just like this I wrote over a decade ago and I'm certain they've never heard it. They're just doing it right. It dosen't sound like Motorhead or ACDC or The Stooges, they were just doing it right too. Maybe you could say it sounds like Ted Nugent but he was really also just doing it. There were cliches in the 90s 80s and 90s that existed separately from the bands that any one could have stepped forward doing as the idea was in the air. The context being such that the next possible steps of evolution in any given direction were already written and more to be chosen or committed to rather than invented. You really didn't need to copy or be influenced. Most the bands I like are different versions of this same all out dissonant distorted full tilt heavy rocking band. The Du, dun du's and enamoenano's honestly mostly write themselves. These guys are regularly playing solos and riffs and progressions that I learned from my dad and my uncles when they were just showing me basic rock forms teaching me scales and progressions by showing me songs. In the old days there was a garage rock standard language people have forgotten. These guys play a lot of stuff that would be considered fair game generic garage rocking material to late sixties to early eighties players. They specifically get at the heart of the nasty, sleazy stuff I mainly pay attention to. This number is an example of that in parts of its structure. So I have that same idea in one of my songs, because the idea is more of an idiom of the specific school of the discipline.
