Nice score, Those 4x4 6.2L Diesel Square Bodies are getting tough to find now and Rasing on price. I have a 1982 Chevrolet Silverado K10 DIESEL First year Both for the 6.2L & 700R4 Trans.
Nice truck. Definitely cool that a 3/4 ton has a 700r4 trans (denoted by (D) symbol when going over gauges). Probably has 4.11 gears, but should still get 20+ mpg if in good working order and driven properly. Every option you can think of it looked like. Nice find.
RockIt Offroad why not pull a duramax out of a totaled truck? If you can find one with the front end, engine, trans and modern brakes. Would be a huge upgrade not to mention worth a good penny after completion. Just fruit for thought. I got a 80 c10 I’m doing basically the same thing with, using a 01 1500 5.3L
i have a 83 chevy k20 surb. diesel as well, but tip if u have not sold it let, or got another one. since there 2 battery's for diesel. hook one jumper cables to one battery, & then hook another set of them to the same battery & hook the other set to the other battery. i got my old 83 to fire up by doing that. since both battery's was dead.
going to make my car a project/weekend car so i'll now be dailying my '90 v2500 Silverado until forever who knows... think that i wanna paint the truck olive too!
I also should mention Yes having a Suburban, Not only 4x4 & 3/4 Ton but with the 6.2L AND Silverado Package is definitely a bit rare. Before I started looking for Solid Electric doors for my 82 K10, The Manual doors are different only b/c they don't have the Open hole for the wiring harness to go through to the door other than that the same And usually the Silverado packages had the Radio Antenna installed in the window, but i see yours is in the Fender? Odd. What I also know from 82-87 The 6.2L Diesel only accounted for 20% of the truck sales all the rest had GAS Engines.
thats so weird how that suburban rusted at the roof like that. Ive noticed when searching on Craigslist i find lots of rust free vehicles in the usual areas such as rockers and corners but the windshield pillars and roofs seem to rot out , I see this lots in the deep south and texas. Is that a common thing and what causes it??
I very seldom see any of those generation Suburbans on the roads nowadays. On the other hand I do see some of those generation regular cab pickup trucks around, but just not as many as I use to back in those days.
@@rockitoffroad6752 yep & for me the Suburbans are the most rare. Same as you I see more regular cab pickups on the roads than I do the crew cab pickups, Suburbans, K5 Blazers, & GMC Jimmys.
That line on the windshield is a stereo antenna or a defroster mi 1977 Oldsmobile has that same set up on the windshield and it does not have a exterior antenna from factory

Love to hear the 6.2 going down the highway.
I've only had a 6.5. Similar, but def not the same. I'm soooo looking forward to it!!
Sadly, I have yet to
I was born in April 12th of 84. I'm also a huge fan of the 70's and 80's Chevy square bodies
That's awesome!

Should be 10 bolt front and 14 bolt rear. Semi or full float

Great question. Wish I had an answer for ya. It was only surface rust.
Those lines are for an antenna. My uncle's 88 GMC 2500 Sierra has it too.
Awesome. Thanks!

I am in texas and I’d same the same thing. The reg cab pickups are the most common. And suburban and blazers are less common

I have the same year in red. It’s a tank.
That makes 3 of us that are 34 years old!
