Down South we have tomato sandwiches. My mom use to make beautiful white bread and homemade mayonnaise with a kick. Spread mayo on bread slice chilled tomatoes about 1/4” to 1/2” thick place on bread add some salt and pepper. Serve with chips on the side. OMG!!!!!

I just picked cherry and beefsteak tomatoes from my garden this morning. Just enough to make pico for Sunday’s Denver Broncos game snacks! I was wondering if they would become too ripe before then. When you talked about freezing them with onions and then roasting them, I jumped up from the sofa and started dicing everything!
I developed plantar fasciitis and my foot MD told me to be sure to wear my best support shoes while gardening. She said many wear their old shoes and it just ruins their feet over time. I guess gardening and yard work are some of the most stressful things we can do that hurt our feet over time. Who knew?
I picked pole beans as a kid, during summer months. It was just north of Salem. I learned to hold the vine and pull the beans away. You did that when you began picking yours today. When you rip them off of the vine it damages the plant. If it’s the last harvest then it’s okay. If there are still beans growing then it can damage their chances to grow optimally.

Becky - I usually collect the big cardboard separators from Sam's Club - the pieces between the stacked product. They give them out free, like they do the boxes. These are PERFECT for laying out on the floor for drying - OR - to lay out on your beds to keep weeds from getting into your beds during the off season! I don't know if they have them at Costco, but it's worth checking into!!! They are nice and flat!

Back home in Uzbekistan, we used to make “qizil ovqat” every season for canning . Mom and dad would go to the market and buy onions, bell peppers, garlic, and tomatoes. Ratio - 1: 0.5: 1: 2. My sister and I would be master peelers for onion and garlic, dad would take care of tomatoes and mom dealt with peppers. We would fry each veggie in some sunflower oil starting with onion, bell peppers, garlic, lastly tomatoes. We seasoned it with salt and after 30 min on the stove, we portioned everything in 1L jars.
We would make 30-50 jars and it would last us till next season. It was the most delicious thing ever, especially on some fresh bread!
My dream is to have a garden and a fruit tree orchard one day.
Thank you for making these videos Becky, I learn a lot from you!

Wow, so many tomato varieties left to process! Waiting to see what you will do with those pole/black beans. Fond memories of harvesting from a huge garden with my bestie as kids! She couldn't play with me because she had to harvest their garden. I tagged along and started with green beans and we had so much fun! We were about seven or so. Still love my green beans! Her mom was quite overwhelmed with our bounty but loved seeing us so happy! Have loved the garden ever since! Love watching you sweet friend, thanks for sharing your time with us, hugs from Michigan! (You have snakes and slugs, we have "stink bugs", yuck!)

Your Peanut Butter Cookie recipe is the best I’ve ever tasted. For years I’ve tried recipes looking for one better than The Joy of Cooking one. I’m 69 years old and have found it. I didn’t even roll them into balls, I used a one inch scoop right after mixing the batter. Because it was your recipe I knew they would be good and I couldn’t wait!

Does everyone know or remember Victory Garden on PBS? Becky would be an amazing co-host! She is young, enthusiastic and can show parts of her garden and then make a dish with her harvest! Basically what she shared with us but for everyone!

Those amazing tomatoes would be perfect to enjoy in a tart! Just make some pie crust, place it on a baking sheet, part bake for a crispier crust, add some tomatoes slices and drizzle olive oil and salt. Anything beyond that (pesto, mozzarella, goat cheese, basil, prosciutto…) is optional. Unmatched❤

Becky Your garden has done so well. I can't say enough about all of your beautiful flowers. I'm definitely going to go with more flowers next year. I've started with planting more bulbs in my garden. Big hugs to you three.😊

Becky, do you have any garlic left to do the freeze dried roasted garlic powder a la Penzey's that your mom suggested? It sounded like such a great idea, especially given how much you two love it?

Hi Becky, not sure if Garlic likes the soil as acidic as Blueberries. Just a thought but something to look into before deciding whether to put Garlic between the Blueberry Bushes. Another great video! Thank you!

Becky, you have sooo many tomatoes! I can’t get over the amount you have! I grow the same heirlooms as you do but my yield was nothing like yours! You’re so inspiring with all the things you do. Love your channel, never miss an episode of life there at Acre Homestead!

I needed some old sheets to use for shade cover for my tomatoe plants. It was getting so hot in Arkansas. Anyway I went to a thrift shop and found some. You might find some pillow cases there cheap. Also, hubby was watching your video with me. He suggested putting your pillow case filled with your beans in a non heated dryer and tumble them.

How do you keep the little weevils out. I grew Puerto Rican black beans last year. They looked great. Got them to the kitchen for storage and saw bugs.

If garlic acts as a deer repellant, I say grow garlic near the blueberries, otherwise, the deer will just walk right over them to get to the blueberries. (I don't think garlic works on deer, only vampires). 🤣

Becky.. You could get a dust pan on a pole, (it looks like a rectangular scoop) and a broom dedicated to only pick up your produce/beans etc. No bending, thanks for bringing us along.

Just an FYI---garlic could deplete the acid in your soil IF you grow them close to blueberries. Blueberries depend on acidic soil.

You need a harvest knife that fits over a finger and rests in the palm of your hand ( they use them to harvest grapes) you can use one to harvest all your garden without damaging your plants by ripping them off the plants. It is actually faster to cut them with a knife than pulling them. Beautiful garden !!!

You are such a lovely young lady. I am watching my great grandkids and since they are playing outside, I can have some uninterrupted moments watching your video. I’m a garden freak as well and have canned most of my stuff already. My garden is done. I am this weekend going to plant some veggies in my greenstalk. Hoping to get some more things before winter hits.

My favorite way to use green beans is to wrap a bundle of about 8 beans in a half slice of bacon, brush it with a little soy sauce, salt, pepper and garlic and roast in the oven. Also, for a quick side, I will throw together a quick tomato using sauteed onion and garlic, a can of diced tomato, a splash of balsamic and some Italian seasoning and then simmer green beans in the sauce. So delicious and easy.

I love tomatoes. Those pineapple ones look delicious. I’ve recently gone carnivore to cure my painful arthritis so will just have to look and drool. For anyone interested I feel better already.

Hi Becky! I would love to see an end of season video where you talk about all the varieties you planted and which ones you plan to plant again next year. What you liked about them etc. An overall wrap up of the garden season would be soooooo helpful :)
