I only told a small part, I can't even talk or write about my ugly life, so i'm supposed to hang on and live with the memories and nightmares that follow me throughout my days. I was a mistake according to my family, not supposed to be in existence, so why be here.
It's not actually all about someone trying to kill himself. There's a video on UA-cam of him singing this song in Kansas (go watch) and he talks about it and says most people get it wrong. This song is really a metaphor and he goes on explaining it. That video is Kansas acoustic. Really great.

this song makes me think of all the screw ups in my life and the mistakes I've made by being in a gang. I wish I hadn't screwed. I used to have suicidal thoughts and this song made those thoughts go away and gave me hope. Even in times when I feel hopeless. this song made me realize that there's hope and suicide is never the answer.
