We visited Cannon Hall Farm home of the Channel 5 show

Located just outside Barnsley in South Yorkshire, Cannon Hall Farm is home to the Nicholson’s farm shown on Channel 5’s Spring time on the farm.
Although the weather wasn’t great we were able to spend a few hours walking around the working farm. We saw the roundhouse where they have sheep, goats and horses that are due to give birth shortly.
We also saw meerkats running and playing in their own habitat, although we didn’t get to see the ferrets or the ferret racing which had been cancelled due to the weather.
We then headed into the sheds where most of this was filmed where we saw some new born piglets, cattle, pigmy goats, Llama’s and the farm’s famous Highland bull called Ted.
Finally we saw a couple of reindeer and some more horses before the rain got a bit heavier so we headed for cover before finishing off with a walk around the Cannon Hall house and museum with great views of the Yorkshire countryside.
The estate is well worth a visit for the whole family although there is a steep hill to climb back up to get back to the car park but it’s very worth it for all of the sights.
