I also had a wasp nest in there. Is that something that comes with from the factory?

Hi Lance, I am just getting started on my first restoration. I have the brake shoes off (after a battle!) and I was wondering do the brakes have to completely disconnected from the tractor itself before you start stripping the brake shoes and springs off the wheel?

No the rods can still be attached but backing off the adjustment will help a lot.

Didn't the brakes for this vintage use linings containing asbestos?
