- Me and @AshThomasFilms head to Twinlakes Theme Park in Melton Mowbray home of Xtreme Scream Park to check out the theme park offering in the day.
Twinlakes is a family run park based in Leicestershire that is packed full of rides for children aged 3 to 8 but if and only if you can find a ride operator to run them!

I work here - reason why there’s barely staff in the week is because it’s off peak and as it’s a kids theme park we barely expect anyone to come to the park other than extremely young children who aren’t in school so there isn’t any need for extra staff that will be doing nothing more but standing about. The weekend and Leicestershire holidays have every ride manned and every food place open and it’s 100x more lively than what you’ve experienced so give it a go then
Hey James, other parks of similar size to TL make sure they have enough staff on hand for any guests attending. Having one or two members of staff manning each section area of the park or looking after the one or two rides in that area is usually the case. We found 3 staff members all day across the entire park. There were more girls behind the reception desk than there was across the entire main area of the park. Can understand your point but you need staff in individual areas otherwise you’ll get many complaints from the people that do attend in the week (exactly what happened on the day). With that said the staff we did meet were bloody lovely and that’s more than can be said about most parks! Thanks for stopping by!
I mainly work at wheelgate park, sometimes I help out at twinlakes when they don’t have enough staff, I also help out scaring people in the scare mazes (Hoodoo Voodoo, Belvoir Malnor and the clown scare zone). Love going to twinlakes to help out, makes a change. I also enjoy wheelgate. Hope you had a lovely day at twinlakes. Thinking about getting a extreme scream hoodie now 😂🙂
Hey Alex thanks for commenting! I enjoy both parks but Xtreme Scream has the bigger draw for me to Twinlakes. Definitely get a hoodie, size up and drown yourself in comfort 😂
Wheelgate was my childhood park, used to always go to wheelgate after school when i was a kid with my annual pass, miss that park tbh

I need to get to this park this year, my kids would love it! Somewhere different to visit in the summer. Love the manual "coaster " 👍
That manual coaster was a leg work out like no other!

She was the lady on the pedal ride later in the day she was lovely. Think waiting for me to come off when I was the only person on the ride wouldn’t have impressed her though 😂😂

Really love Twinlakes!! Such a good park that made me interested in theme parks!! I have also been on a few days in the past when there were no ride ops so they just opened whatever we wanted to go on!!!
I didn’t like having the job role of ‘ride op locator’ for the first hour of being there but after that it was cool aha thanks for watching Eleanor!

I guess they just decide to keep the costs low midweek by having less staff on and not opening any food places 🤔 Looks decent for £15 pre booked though! That pedal coaster looks pretty unusual and would make a good cred 🤣
If you get there after 3pm it’s even cheaper, think we paid £11 per person she gave it us cheaper even though we got there at 2pm

One thing that really wound me up about visiting Wheelgate it's sister Park is the lack of ride operator's ans that was during the Easter half term it was ridiculous.
It’s like you have to find them first before they open a ride. Annoying but a lovely little park all the same but in need of some updates

I've actually never heard of this place in my whole life 😂 but yep could do with some staff 😅
@@johnnyrotten8801 I’m glad! That’s the idea with a few of these places we’ll be visiting especially next month. Smaller places that are cheaper and in some cases better (when there’s staff aha) than much more expensive places
