Great video! I've been using a Walker mower for years, and recently upgraded to the 27i. It’s hard to justify spending $21k on a lawnmower-until you actually use one. My three-acre lawn looks like a golf course when I’m done, and it handles New Hampshire leaves in the fall like a champ. The only downside has been Walker’s customer service. I've had ongoing issues with the air shocks that keep the rear chute open while dumping-the rear door keeps dropping down, and I have to manually hold the mechanism open. Walker insisted that I load my mower onto a trailer and bring it to a dealer over an hour away just for them to take a look. That’s just not practical for me; and when I replied as such - the email thread stopped.. But overall - good product.
Going to look at a 36 tonight. It’s an older unit. 02. 🤞 I’m walking about 10+miles a day here in central TX. I could really use this mower to be on point. Thanks for the video and showing what to look at. Thanks again. I’ll see how how this comment ages lol
Hi Ken, great video! I have a 2006 walker ghsmt 26hp 3200hrs in good overall shape. I would love to hear your thoughts on 3 issues having. 1. I just found gas is getting into the engine oil, maybe thru a leaky fuel injector??? 2. engine surges when driving without blades engaged… but does not surge with blades engaged, maybe an injector issue??? 3. engine will back fire when throttle is rapidly lowered from high to low… but …will not backfire if lowered slowly… so maybe not an issue??? Note…engine uses 1/2 quart of oil every 12hrs , no oil leaks or visible smoke. Thanks Frank
@KenMrKLC hey Ken. I ve been watching alot of you videos. Awsome work. I have a problem With my Walker, I seem to be leaking oil near the gear axle. I want to know if I needed to change the seal and bearing by taking the gear axle off. Or can it be done with the gear axle on the machine.
Hey man, can you show me the correct throttle and choke linkage? I took my engine out and it seems my mower is burning a little rich. Wondering if the linkages are causing this
I will not disclose my labor cost however it it about $7.50 per seal, $650 blower, $1000 for a hydro, $100 for the deck to blower chute. I got about 8000 hours out of hydros before if you change oil frequent and reseal input shaft before it’s too late
A machine with only 1000 hours and you're looking at these type repairs...doesn't sound good. Mine has less than 400hrs, not looking good going forward Still watching, hope you cover how much it all costs
I agree, the hydro shouldn’t have failed but it was left to leak and used too long. Had it been caught quicker it wouldn’t need replacement. I got 8000 hours out of my hydros on my machine. Other than that the blower is just a part that you will replace every 2-4 years. Check out vids on my machine I got unreal life from a machine I paid $650 for
@@hpw59 Man those hydros should last 3 times longer that that ! I got these exmarks machines and 1 has 3500 hrs one has 2500 hrs and never had any hydro issue- Walker is a top tier commerical mower ! wth!
I got 8000 out of mine Ray Ray, and it’s 1 hydro not hydros… and it is because it leaked and wasn’t caught in time. There is a kit for under $100 you can replace the input shaft and seal once it starts leaking. Also who knows if the hours are true and what conditions it was run through

Thank you Ken!!! Great vid!!!
Thanks Doug!
Good job
Thanks
Hey Ken I lost spark on my Mt walker with the 26hp kawasaki same as that
Thanks for the information
Ken, thank you.
Walker is now crazy expensive. A new T27i is about $21,700.
Yes, But so isn't everything right? The way things are going our minimum lawn mowing rate will be 3 figures
Who says you need a 27 that 23 is better
@@hunterhaon4265 Not a big price difference.

I just got a 2005 with a 20.9 HP Kubota for $1500 runs and cuts no issues lol
i wonder why they dont make that chute out of sheet metal?
It would rust and dent too easily, it’s pretty stout plastic I have had them last many years.

Where do you buy your parts
Thanks for this vid.
If you don't mind, share the cost on next video
