Thanks Lance. All but the darker nautiloid came from the matrix. Get away from the lighter stuff and almost nothing. Dark nautiloid came from the matrix sitting on top of it. It is a completely different preservation.
@@northtexasfossildude lol, Dallas area is a looong drive and that project will probably be covered in houses before I get back that far south. I do highly appreciate the offer though.
Thanks for watching. Not sure your meaning bit here is what I am referring to: Bivalve mollusks (e.g., clams, oysters, mussels, scallops) have an external covering that is a two-part hinged shell that contains a soft-bodied invertebrate.
Great finds! Enjoyed the hunt! Thanks!
It was an awesome day. Working on our next location. 🙂
Nice finds ,love the Nautiloids ❤
Thanks David. They are awesome. There is one spot that someone has found and they have even better ones. Of course he won't give it up. 🙄
Love the nautilus shells. Great digging!
Thanks! It was an awesome day. Some of the group went to another location and found a lot there also. Thomas got his first ammonite!
@@northtexasfossildude always great seeing people find their first! It was great for me. Can't wait to go again!
Just let me know when you and Jason can make it.
Looks like the "Mainstreet Limestone" assemblage. "Kingena" brachipods, "Pachymia" clams (aka shoe clams) and "Cymatoceras" nautiluses
