Not sure bout Subarus but when dealing with air bags, after disconnecting the battery and this varies between manufacturers but you need to wait 5-30 minutes for the air bag module to loose its charge. The module carries very large capacitors so that the air bags can still deploy even if the battery is disconnected. I like this build. Hey Tanner, I have experienced with the Grimspeed BPV on the stock innercooler. The WRX is gonna be dope can't wait.... I ended up having to cancel my big Northwest trip but still planning to go to LA subiefest.... Are you still going to bring the STI to LA?😁😁😇😇
I just installed the Grimspeed BPV on my sisters' 09 WRX and I noticed that the intercooler mount for the BPV was like a rhombus shape and the GS BPV was circular. I was afraid that it wouldn't make a good enough seal and could lead to problems. After some research, I found that Turbosmart makes a BPV gasket that has a circular opening and we decided to use that. Have you noticed anything with using the GS BPV without a gasket?
Watching you mess with that fuel pump without gloves again, causes me anxiety. 😅 What gauges would you recommend for the FA20DIT? Oil Pressure and AFR as well?
Nice dogs Tanner! I am taking my time working on my car. It's not Subaru, it's a Toyota Corolla and I am planning in ordering a 3sgte St 215 plus an MR2 5 speed transmission

I feel you there im almost that in my 18 sti and it’s still not right but like you said it could be tat stupid Omni it still throwing that code map/maf sensor im trailering it to big Subaru
Hey don’t know if anyone mentioned it or if I missed it in the video but the GS bypass valve doesn’t not work with the stock wrx top mount. It has the same gasket as the sti top mount and will cause a boost leak. I talked with the guys at GS at subiefest Midwest and they don’t have any plans to make one for the 8-14 wrx top mount with the proper gasket right now

@@Smeedia yeah bro plus we got the hatch to see some content while we wait
The bypass valve I’ve heard both arguments. That you need a tune/don’t need a tune. Can you provide more insight to that?
A bypass valve is a bypass valve. It's a mechanical mechanism that reciruclates air back to the intake. No tune needed.
A blow off valve 100% needs a tune
I’m from the lower valley love to see your content ❤ found you because I just got a Wrx hatch!
Eyyyy congrats on the hatch! How you liking it?!
@@Smeedia no regrets so far!
I have waited for this video, love the content! Let's goooo!
🥳🥳🥳
whats the plan with those black wheels that were going to go on the evo then
Use em as winters 🤝
Hell yeah wait till boost season baybeee!!
BOOOOST
Any chance you're going to check out the new Grimmspeed UEL Headers? They're very interesting, being kind of a mix of equal and unequal length headers 🤔
I have a set 🤭
@@Smeedia OH chet I can't wait to see them 😮😮😮
Got a 14 hatch last year and have been watching your videos since then. Super stoked to see you building a hatch out so I can steal some ideas ! Ever get any input on the gasket on the grim speed bpv not matching ? Thanks for the content and your time 🙏
They're working on a new flange soon 🙏
@@Smeedia ah man so need to buy now ?
: /
Did you spend big money and get some 3 piece wheels? See you at big northwest. Gonna be volunteering there.
Not 3 piece 😅
WRX HATCH AND CORGIS?? I JUST FOUND MY NEW FAVORITE UA-camR!! Lets GO!!! :D
Eyyyyy appreciate the support Austin!
Love seeing the hatch on the channel! I also have a hatch myself. I have a 09 sti!!
Ohhhh how you like it?! 🥳
@@Smeedia I love had it a little over a year now. Thinking of some coilovers next 😌
Badass video love the episodes of the hatch and very informative i did not know i didnt need a tune for the bypass valve im about to order one
Bypass valve is one your good without a tune for 💪
Do they make that steering wheel for the 2020 wrx if so could you link it to me it looks nice or if you have a better suggestion for me that would also be appreciated most dope 👍🏻
I do belive so 🥳 they've got a ton of options rallysport carrys alot of em 💪
I'm so excited for the wrx build. I have a 2013 hatch so hopefully these future vids will make, I mean won't make me spend any money;)
🤭🤭🤭
Do the fans josh use on the dyno help much with heat?
Yes but not enough to offset the ambient heat 🙏
The WRX is gonna be dope can't wait....
I ended up having to cancel my big Northwest trip but still planning to go to LA subiefest.... Are you still going to bring the STI to LA?😁😁😇😇
Gling to try to bring the sti down 🙏worst case scenario I bring the wrx 😅
Hype train! Still gonna be able to bring the STI to BNW? I really wanna see her in person.
I need to stop commenting before finishing the whole video.
😅🙏
I just installed the Grimspeed BPV on my sisters' 09 WRX and I noticed that the intercooler mount for the BPV was like a rhombus shape and the GS BPV was circular. I was afraid that it wouldn't make a good enough seal and could lead to problems. After some research, I found that Turbosmart makes a BPV gasket that has a circular opening and we decided to use that. Have you noticed anything with using the GS BPV without a gasket?
I noticed that as well and grimmspeed said they're working on it. For now that turbosmart adaptor will work
Watching you mess with that fuel pump without gloves again, causes me anxiety. 😅
What gauges would you recommend for the FA20DIT? Oil Pressure and AFR as well?
Yessir. Same sane gauges 🤝
I recently ordered a cobb bpv for my '19 sti. Do bpv's flutter, I didn't know they did. Have sf intake already. Love the videos
Some do if they have a stiff spring 😅🔥
Nice dogs Tanner! I am taking my time working on my car. It's not Subaru, it's a Toyota Corolla and I am planning in ordering a 3sgte St 215 plus an MR2 5 speed transmission
Thank you! 😁 what generation?! 😁
Gen 4 which is an St215 engine
Hey got a question. Won’t taking out the oil pressure sensor give some sort of code? Looking to put oil pressure but worried that I’m gonna get a check engine. I’m also using the glow shift adapter
Nope, no code 🙏 the oe sensor isjust an on/off switch 🙏
Have you tried searching for a younger rubber band?
Lmao 💀🤣
I feel you there im almost that in my 18 sti and it’s still not right but like you said it could be tat stupid Omni it still throwing that code map/maf sensor im trailering it to big Subaru
Haven't swapped the sensors yet?
Why not go Opensource for the WRX as well?
Don't you have anyways to protune with a Grimmspeed DP?
To prove a point that you can still use accesstuner and accessports to tune 🙏 and I've got thr ots tunes for now as a temp tune for the next week
Hey don’t know if anyone mentioned it or if I missed it in the video but the GS bypass valve doesn’t not work with the stock wrx top mount. It has the same gasket as the sti top mount and will cause a boost leak. I talked with the guys at GS at subiefest Midwest and they don’t have any plans to make one for the 8-14 wrx top mount with the proper gasket right now
Should work once the front mount is on tho
I noticed 😅 the gaskets are diffrent. Car runs okay but took it back off today for the stock one until I put my FMIC on 🥲
Side note! I was on the phone with them today and they are working on a solution for it 🙏
@@Smeedia that sounds good! I’d love to get one on my car
@@Smeedia also I love that even thought you’ve got a 100k subs you still respond to everyone’s comments. I’ve never had a creator respond back to me. It means a lot
