He's a good man. What bothers me is that we have brilliant minds like Michael Parenti, Michael Hudson, Bob Avakian, Richard Wolff, and on and on. But they are isolated from one another. And like in this interview, they might as well be speaking Martian as far as the average person is concerned. Change will not come as quickly this way as it would were these people to step out of their bubbles and seek to start something. Because once people know the truth, then they will know what life can be like, and will take on the task of changing the country, and even the world.
Richard Wolff is very overrated. He is basically a neoliberal using Marxist rhetoric.
The first time I heard of David Harvey, he gives excellent, non-biased insight into the recent footnote of American history. I'm not a Marxist either, but I listen to this guy more
Those issues are addressed even less in rural areas.
why aren't we comparing the use of capitalism within public sectors to for eg. other forms of democracies and study economic patterns, in which help in reform and fiscal policies not already tried? Places like America or Australian democracy and how they manage their economies might be able to use ideas already trial and used in places like Europe.
Both sides suck because both sides want to concentrate power..
Pro-tip: "Both sides" want you to believe that there are only two sides.
brilliant analysis, professor dumbass
Interesting - it is actually bad that Trump didn't listen to Harvey but did it his own stupid way.
I think Harvey looks very tired here, maybe it's time for him to retire - he's done good work ...
He needs a nap. We all need a nap. Well, I need a nap
David Harvey is a wonderful scholar who has given much to expand and enrich human knowledge, but his predictions regarding the Trump administration have proved woefully wrong so far...
like what?
Yea like what?
@@dulariparmar3091 Infrastructure week is a laugh line, there is no U.S. right wing populism
Let's be real...the Bourousis voted for Clinton and the Proletariat voted for Trump
Chadd Wamboldt that doesn't make sense, the bourgeoise isn't close to 50% of the population
@@lovis8424 also trumps base is at least as much petit bourgeois as it is proletarian
Harvey makes Not a single empirical claim. His belief is Pure religion.
When you study economics, you are presented with a purely mathematical model of the economy. Simultaneously you' are also presented with econometrics empirical studies that confirm this purely mathematical model. Economics is therefore a perfect science. In complete opposition to the perfect science of economics, Professor Harvey does nothing but assert groundless claims. If professor Harvey wants to convince me of anything, he needs to either present a mathematical model that explains his theory or at least present empirical evidence to support his theory.
***** let's do the reverse. Show me one thing that Harvey says that he sites sources for. No sources = empty words.
Assaf Wodeslavsky "perfect science of economics" - now there's a joke! You and +IneptMedia would get along great. Also, as you say; "no sources = empty words."
A good quote for you to think about which I already doubt you will:
"The ‘free-market’ theory provides a pseudo-scientific justification for the greed and poverty endemic to the system, and the main beneficiaries are the global mega-corporations of neoliberal capitalism"
cupitr your quote is a set of empty words unless you have evidence.
***** ok. i accept your challenge. tell me one thing you learned in micro-economics that a rigorous mathematical proof for was not referenced.
