What a great trip! Great management of all that same time action. Curious what brand of drop in triple rod holder you are using?
+David Brugh those are by Cisco Fishing Systems. Thanks for the support!
I have the 7" Perfect Planer boards used for live bait. I like to use relatively light tackle. Can the 7" boards handle the weight of the Mini Mack's or would I need 10" boards?
any advice on controlling the depth of a rigs for hybrids? thanks
Nice video! Just purchased 4 of those mini macks from your website.! Thanks for posting

Thanks for the support and the purchase!
+acmaries let us know if you have any questions
I just realized I saw you boat and said Hi to you the other day. I was in a black alumaweld. How far behind the boat you let the mini mack before you attach the planner board? Also on the downrigger how far behind the boat before you clip the line and how deep is your downrigger ball? You can PM if you’d like. Thanks for sharing!
Hey buddy, really enjoy your videos. I’m new to using planer boards, so my question is do you lock the line to the board, bring it to the boat then realest it or set the clip so it realizes the line then bring board and fish in at the same time? I’ve seen you do it both ways, your thoughts? I use boards for cats but haven’t used them for striper. Thanks again. G

Hey buddy, I always use the release clips , but sometimes they don’t release in which case we just remove the board when we get it to the boat. I run the release clips tight so they don’t release prematurely at faster troll speeds
Another question. How successful are you with the down riggers? I have two and have yet to catch one on it. Thanks for any insight.
+Offroad Edge they are not always as productive, but there have been days when the only bites come on the down riggers so I can’t explain it but I keep using them
Are you using the 10” or 7” planner board
+@user-vl4gu3vf3i
I’m using the 10” versions.

Love your videos', always informative, How far back from the planer board did you have the A-Rig? Trolling around 2.5 Mph?
Hey Tom, we were running 2 mph around 150 ft back. You gold do less if you used a 2oz inline weight in front of the Mini as well
@@merceroutdoors How far from the actual Planet Board to the Rig. 20 ft? More?
@@TomParnelle hey Tom that is from the planer board since this would be the “line in the water” that would dictate the depth at a certain speed. Let out 150’ clip on board then let out however much you want to. At 2 mph you will be around 18ft deep
hard to beat a striper hit on a mini mack! Do you run .75-1pmh or so in the winter time with the Mini's?
We do sometimes for sure. This particular trip we were pilling them around 2 mph
how far back behind the planer boards are you running the macks?
100-150 at 2mph gets ya in the 15-20 ft range. if i need to get them deeper ill use snap weights or inline weights on the planer board lines or leadcore straight back
Could I set up a spread using planer boards with live bait and Mini Mack's, or would the slower speed for live bait (
+@CharlesMoore-ve9wp you absolutely can the mini Mack’s will swim down to about .7-.8 mph depending on current. The biggest difference will be the depth they run at that speed. Works great.
If you purchase from us , I have created an extensive depth chart I’ll be glad to help you with! Thanks for watching!
Thanks. I had also posted a question about whether I can troll Mini Macks with my 7" boards? Would appreciate your thoughts on that too.
+@CharlesMoore-ve9wp
I would guess it would work in some cases. Though if trying to pull them faster or in rougher conditions they may struggle.
@@merceroutdoors Got it. I'll look into adding the 10" boards. Appreciate all of the thoughts.
+@CharlesMoore-ve9wp we are now able to do custom engraving on boards and lots of other stuff
