10:15 Absolutely. I think all forms of life are somehow equally complex even at their simplest form. They are all living the best they can, thrown into a world they know nothing about.
This channel is a big part of what got me interested in ants, now I have 2 queens- one is a tetramorium immigrans with 10 nanitics and the other is a huge camponotus (modoc I think) with a pupa and a few mature larvae. Thank you so much AntsCanada for raising interest in this amazing hobby!

Great video! Excited to see more of this queen👌
I’m so happy you brought back the weaver ants they are so eye opening 😮
Hey @AntsCanada, I wanted to inform that when the larvae reach their final instar (in their silk production stage), you could offer the colony some leaves so you could observe and film them in action. A transfer to a test tube set up can also be done additionally, so that the colony can be in a tight, secured space and makes filming them easier...
All the best for your future ant discoveries :)

@@stanleydykes4134 why not capture them and move them. Then again feminist never ask if the don't want a baby in their body . Why not remove them alive in one piece and if that baby can't survive outside when do they care they were going out their way horribly kill the baby anyway
@@osmosisjones4912 Why not stop men from putting babies in women? A woman does not have to rip apart her body to shreds if she feels she is not fit to. Abortions happen in nature anyways. The zoom makes the ant queen look massive, yet they are absolutely puny-

I remember watching this year's ago, it's nice to come back to it and see that not only is it still alive, but there's new content constantly being added. I think that she-hulk would be most fitted for the queen, but have it be something like shulk or something.

10:20 I definitely think theres an ant version of love. Either way it’s impressive
I personally think it's more of an instinct based reaction than anything else. For such incredibly social animals, it seems benefitical, from an evolutionary standpoint, to to be inherently alturistic. I mean, if ants weren't willing to die for each other, their societies would fall apart. To me, it *seems* that they are "hard-wired," on a genetic level, to "care" bout each other, rather than emotionally caring about each other.
Now, I must say that I have not studied the specifics behind ant brains and the chemicals they produce, so I got no proof as to wether or not ant brains produce the chemicals that are nessecary for things like love and emotional bonding, but based on what I've seen, I personally think that their alturistic and protective behavior is a byproduct of them evolving an eusocial lifestyle.
Ants canada's content is just amazing
I definitely like the jade army name for the weaver ant colony. Such a fitting name. Good luck !!!!!

Come to think of it, I’ve never seen HOW an ant colony starts. Queen ants are always depicted/shown as sedentary and inactive but the fact that when they start off they can be just as fierce as the chess piece gives me so much respect for them.
Every species of living being on Earth, has instincts for reproduction purposes that amaze me at times. Who would’ve thought an ant would have such instincts… but they do! Too cool.
