I grew up save-scumming XCOM, so the reloads don't offend or bother me. Might want to form a habit or set a reminder to be spamming save points regularly, to make-up for the checkpoint. I know that it's not Odd vibes to play that way, but there's also a production schedule to consider.
Also, the "solutions" in this game appear to be very exacting, with very narrow paths to getting the victory parameters. As such, and based upon the menu information at HQ between missions, it looks to me that re-doing the missions a few times is very much intended in the game's design. Punishing in mission objectives, but not in the overall progress of a campaign.
For sure, I feel like these later missions aren't hitting "checkpoints" as much so it hasn't been much of an issue until now. Realistically, I'd love for them to have more characters and permadeath but it's just not the design of the game.
27:29 should've teleported back to the teammates with Rebound so she could teleport someone to deal with that guy that got alerted ! very cool game man, but it definitely needs a bit more polish so we can understand what's going on and what's going to happen next turn! there's a lot of information and not a lot of indicators 😅
I mean, they show their movements and stuff...what other info do you think would be helpful? Only edge cases are their detections ranges and stuff when they are on the move.
@@ChristopherOdd like when you teleport spin with Rebound doesn't show when you break objects for example. and sometimes lines of sight aren't very clear either, like where you can target with Mindfire... I'm sure I've seen some more, but I can't quite remember... oh and that was that time you only had an action available on Facet's turn and times where you could use Mindfire's ult twice and sometimes only once! it's an awesome game, but a couple of patches would go a long way.
@@ChristopherOdd kinda reminds me of XCOM1 weird sightlines bugs, it's hard to put my finger on it but I don't remember those issues on XCOM2 for example. not sure how one would go about to fix them though, not a dev xD
When the game is vague and information like who's alerted isn't communicated well enough, it's fine to re-load after you learn how a thing works. Also fine on mis clicks and bugs or other unfair things. But ya, it's also fun to watch you sort out stuff when it hits the fan.
Well done. Going right and being patient is the only way to do that stealthy, at least I haven't found an alternate route since. Don't make the mistake I did wasting time trying to defeat Primax. She can't. The Objective is not obtainable but you can still complete the mission in one go. Listen to the heroes.
The alternative timelines look really cool for some reason. Like exploring the different possibiities to actually learn what would happen and what would work or not. I feel like reloading a few times might be even more benefitial than re-doing a whole mission, from a "series standpoint". Not that I actually now anything about creating content really, hahaha. Thanks for the super action, Odd!!! 😁
As this game is not always communicating clearly as what might happen next, I think reloading every now and then on your first play through is absolutely fine. We’d all do it.
For the question about Mindfire using his ultimate two times in a row, does it work in a similar way to his focus, that if you don’t move him, you can use it twice?
Loving the series, but have to say this again. Ending a character's turn with action points unused converts the remaining action points into ultimate charge.
I'm very happy to see a stealthy mission, even if it required quicksaves. We already get plenty of loud missions, so this one was a refresher.
Primax claims to not do the villainous grandstanding thing.... then goes into a villainous grandstand. I love it!
I'm glue to these playthrough already.

@@ChristopherOdd Legit. IMHO it strikes me more of a puzzle game, rather than a combat sim.
You can use Mindfire’s ultimate twice on the same if you use Focus

32:59 you can only ult twice if you do the no move extra action.
I wait eagerly every day for this upload, thanks mr. Odd!
Super ASMR. Enjoying watching you sink into another turn-based RPG, plus the powers are cool. Excited to see more team members.

Love the set up for the next mission, but I gotta say that stealth mission was awesome.
Great episode, mate. Loving this series.

Absolutely right!
If you focus he can use it twice, because focus allows you to reuse any ability.
Let's be real here-we all kind of expected Ignis to get on Doc's nerves.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say you have to push the androids into Primax.
I’m going to not be so critical in this one. This one is really hard, the only one that made me rage quit. So good luck.
Nice team teleport to get Facet out of the corner!
It’s cool and all… but how the hell can they not see that big a** green crystal sprout from the ground….
Loving the series, but have to say this again. Ending a character's turn with action points unused converts the remaining action points into ultimate charge.
5:40 that ragdoll animation…
You either need some special ability to process and remember serial events, or save & load - on missions like this. :p
I am not sure but i think that you can use twice the ultimate of Mindfire only if you do not move him
There is a reason I don't care for billionaires. No one should be trusted with "Bond Villain" wealth, just in case.
Wouldn't it be easier to just deactivate the console? I mean maybe you can do that?
