Thats really awesome to hear! I love knowing how Canyon Lake has been a staple for family activities for so many people! Thank you for watching and commenting :)
The wife and I recently bought a place East of Kyle (Dale). We are about an hour from Canyon Lake and 40 minutes from Bastrop Lake. The two lakes are like different countries. Canyon Lake is like a lake in many of the states with mountains while Bastrop Lake is similar to a lake in Northern Minnesota. Even though Canyon Lake is low on water right now, there is still some in it. Just check before going to determine if the landing or park you plan on using is open. I know there was one landing on the North side open this past spring but the very hilly one on the Southeast shore was closed. Now it looks like they might be redoing that closed landing so it can be used in low water conditions but that means it is totally closed right now (only the landing area was closed before). Another fun thing about Canyon Lake is the Gudalupe River that flows into and then out of the lake (out at the dam). Miles and miles of camping, tubbing, and kayaking on the river flowing towards 35 to the East. The River Drive is an enjoyable drive as well, crossing the river something like four times.
Great content in this video! Would love to see one highlighting winters in Canyon Lake (North Pole village etc) as most of the stuff I have seen is more focused on summers there and not year round living.
Im a San Antonio native my dad used to take me to Canyon Lake as a kid and I loved it.

Canyon Lake is also home to an ammunition vending machine inside a grocery store.

Thank you for that suggestion! Are you make a very good point I will have to do some more research this winter so I can make a video on it 😊
Too bad there isn't any water in it. Don't know when these photos were taken, but not recently. USACE lake, so you don't own the shoreline.
Cool place not far from me.
Thank you for watching and commenting! It is beautiful, where do you live close by?
