I look forward to all of your videos. Very informative, colorful, and fun. I watched your UA-cam channel three years ago when you two first moved to Orlando. You two are very good at providing us with beautiful scenery and great commentary about the many places and food delight you are enjoying. Thanks for sharing your travel journey.
That’s the newest old church I’ve seen,no wonder my American uncle took all day in the churches here in Cambridge uk.He couldn’t get over how old they were.
That is definitely going on my bucket list not sure when that will be living in Somerset Uk …. The reason some Cornish people are in the US is simple the tin was being used less so the tin mines were closing and in the US the gold rush was on so the call went out for Cornish tin miners to show how to mine
Back in my misspent youth in the UK in the 1970s, an old person's pub drink was "bitter and barley wine". Which was a bottle of barley wine poured into a pint glass and topped up with draught bitter beer. Using "Gold Label Very Strong Special Beer The No1 Barley Wine", Which was 10% alcohol and came in 1/3rd pint bottles. Now it's sold in 330ml cans, but is only 7.5%.
Use to live in chapel Hill NC and admit the best thing was the food. Breakfasts were vast and really kept you full all day. Found shops expensive but the sheer variety of stores was amazing. miss those happy days.
When you stopped at the breakfast place, I thought 'biscuits & gravy'. I had some on my first trip to the US and fell in love lol It’s the only thing (at least at breakfast) I’ve seen in the US that doesn’t seem to have a counterpart here in England.
Years ago on Holiday in Cornwall can't remember exactly where (old brain there was a genuine Ye Olde Cornish Pasty Shoppe they weren't afraid to push the boundaries so for my lunch I had a Smoked Mackerel and Onion pasty made with flaky pastry and a Dessert Pasty filled with Blackcurrant and Apple and made IIRC msny many layers of Filo pastry washed down with 2 pints of Scrumpy, ah what an afternoon nap that was content with the World 😃
They do look great. However I don't want to be a critic but I was born in St Austell, Cornwall. A traditional Cornish Pasty must be made in Cornwall to be called so. It's Crimp should be on the side as this was used as a handle for the miners to hold as they would have nasty things on their hands. Traditionally it is Beef Skirt, Potato, Onion, Turnip, Salt, Pepper and Butter inside, it is layered so the butter, pepper and salt melt down over the Beef and then the Veg, making gravy from the juices and steam whilst it bakes. Originally they would have had desert in one half too, Jam or fruit. I have been enjoying your videos of your travels here in the UK 🙏
Drove from Vegas to Phoenix. Have to say my favorite vacation. Hover Dam..Grand Canyon was a experience. Rt66 Williams was a bucket list for me to drive on the mother road. Sedona was the most beautiful place I have visited. Phoenix was busy ready to fly back to Boring Connecticut.
In the 90's when I was growing up there was a pasty shop that had about 20 different varieties, cant say there was a cajun chicken lol but there was lots of interesting ones including fruit based
Liking the vlogs did they do tradictional English type pasties, I like a warm traditional type English pastie that you can eat it all because the pastry melts in your mouth with a touch of hp brown sauce.
It's fair. We try not to eat a lot of fast food at home for a number of reasons including al the extra junk in it. Your fast food is better in terms of chemicals and flavor a lot of the time.
@@TheMagicGeekdom ...I do like a good in n out burger when I'm in california , but the way cows are treated in california looked awful when we passed a few herds just stuck in a large pen of mud together eating through metal bars and feed in troughs ...put me off eating meat completely when in the US...not sure if that was normal across the Ststes, but in California it was farm after farm...😪
cornish pasty is good with a pint of beer. or a nice glass of white wine... were in the US up at our daughters for two weeks, spent the first day making british steak and kidney pies seeing as no where in the US makes or sells them.
Bit of warning please when you're going to be funny..."Authentic native American place with lots of Star Wars stuff". I've just spat beer all over my laptop😄 Here in the UK we also get a wide selection of pasties, there are several chains of pasty shops. One of my favourites is a Thai chicken red curry pasty.

Just one correction. Genuine Cornish Pasties have only meat, potato and onion in them. So you "traditional Cornish Pasty" in Scottsdale was not authentiv as it contained Swede.
I’ve looked into this and it’s a bit of a vague area as the protection is European. Europe shares some food naming regulations with the US, but I’ve never seen mention of the pasty being protected.
Arizona is one of the many mining places that Cornish miners emigrated to for work. They took the pasty recipe with them. BTW, there are some pretty weird pasties made in Cornwall as well. Thai chicken curry, for example.
The term Cornish pasty has been given protected status by the European commission,it means only pasties made in Cornwall from a traditional recipe can be called Cornish pasties,in UK,so if any product says made in UK ,it will be from Cornwall ,if genuine, but Cornish pasties made in USA ,and produced it doesn't apply, although am sure ,will try use traditional recipes, alot of Cornish pasties in UK are frozen ,made in Cornwall, then heated up,anywhere
I don't know if the protections are the same in the US, but the original is referred to as the "Traditional Pasty" not "Cornish Pasty" maybe that has something to do with it?
Any Barley Wine is an acquired taste, usually drunk by old men sitting in the corner of the pub. I wonder if the Cornish Pasty Co. has had any Lawsuits yet in calling the Beef, Swede and Onion pasty a Cornish Pasty as it has Demographic Protected Status, just like Champagne or Scotch Whisky.
Not sure. They have multiple locations. So, I think they're doing alright, I think they call that one the "Traditional Pasty" maybe that's how they get around it.
