I just bought mine today, after you answered my comment on the other video. I see you also added that information to this video. You're amazing and so helpful. Thank you.
I’m a professional musician & love the RCP 2 for all my online shows (zoom, UA-cam & another livestream channels). However I never record or mix my albums or singles with the RCP2. But 70% of my work is online live shows & music for worship & here this device is perfect: The routing & Bluetooth & output delay & onboard recording are so so useful despite the mediocre AD & DA converters & hint of latency. The headphones work fine & do not hinder me - however the monitor outputs lack clarity. In summary this device is bad for recording albums but excellent for live shows (Bluetooth integration here means synced audio to iPhone videos with no hassle). Thanks Tom for your helpful videos & generous presentation.
Hmm, how would you say it stacks up to a focusrite 2i2 4th gen? I was considering selling my focusrite as I have one of these coming tomorrow ...I sing occasionally.
@@NadiaZC1 Hello Nadia, I used to own a Focusrite 2i2 2nd generation so unless the sound of the 4th generation is much better then I would say they sound very similar. I found the Focusrite to be very easy to use and it was 100% reliable (which is not always the case with the rode caster pro 2). The Rodecaster pro 2 does a lot more (e.g. it can compress your vocal and de-ess etc and has onboard recording which I use often & can delay the audio output so your zoom camera and audio can sync up) but due to this complexity it can go wrong sometimes and you need to reboot and start over. If you livestream complicated things then the Rodecaster pro 2 (or Duo) is better but for a simple set up and portability and space on your desk the 2i2 is better. But really both are fun to use and great products so you can't make a wrong choice. I hope this helps.
@@SimondeVoil thank you so much that's very helpful. I have a focusrite 2i2 which I use into DAW and that's how I get the audio for my music videos. I bought the rodecaster 2 for live streaming (singing) and to be able to use my sm7b. I am hoping I won't need the 2i2 anymore and will be able to sell it to recover some monies but it's a fair point you make the focusrite is simple, reliable and does a wonderful job on my sm7b. For daw I won't be using any of the processing as I've got plugins for reverb, compression etc. I will test both side by side in daw to see if I still need the focusrite anymore, thank you so much for your help. 😊
@@ThrashReactsthank you, I've got it now and have to say the preamps seem less noisy than my focusrite 2i2 4th gen, but the key word is "seem" I need to test them side by side. I bought it for live streaming and it's awesome. Does everything I want it to, would have liked more reverb effects but the hall and room is more than adequate.

Thanks @tombuck for mentioning the clicking! I've been going crazy trying to figure out what was going on! You're the first person I've seen address that issue anywhere online!
I noticed a "click" randomly whilst recording in Audition and it some times seems to Stop the recording processes(I use the built i recorder as well for a belt n braces approach, help me out last week to be fair),Fab Video,I also like the back up you get from Rode if you do experience problems.
Nice to say that about the power button: people should know manufacturers have a purpose when doing design, and the fact the power off is so difficult, is indeed a commodity! Thanks, Tom!
A headphone amp in and of itself has zero latency. Latency creeps in if the amp is being fed a signal that has first been converted from analog to digital, then processed in the digital domain, and finally gone through a D-to-A converter instead of a live, analog signal. A/D, processing, and D/A takes time. That is what causes latency. Latency manifests itself as a delay in time from when you say something until you actually hear it.
I love mine, except for a couple things: 1) The headphone volume #1 (which is the most commonly used) should be closest to the right edge of the device. The entire row should be in reverse order since your hand will rest to the side of the device otherwise you are crossing over the Main Output Volume knob. 2) The Duo needs a RodeCaster Cover. 3) The new Ducking feature needs enhancement. More reduction (beyond -12db) and a delay to control how quickly it recovers (accomodating pauses in speech patterns). 4) Prefer the power switch on the front leading edge...I constantly move this device to shut it off. 5) No power supply I have found works, even when outputting 9v at 3A, forcing me to buy a second power supply from Rode (one for the desk, one to travel). 6) With their beefy power supply, pass thru charging should be possible to retain a charge on the tablet that I connect via USB-C (electronic soundboard used). 7) RCP2 needs the TRRS headphone jack on the leading edge like the DUO. 8) A stereo 1/4" or 3.5mm output would be nice...but not necessary. 9) It doesn't stay connected to my network or any Bluetooth device, then when you disconnect you must re-enter the password...if that fails (usually does) I need to restart the unit. Other than these minor complaints, I love it! I hope a new unit doesn't come out soon...I know I'd be compelled to upgrade...lol.
I've seen a few of your videos and want to compliment your easy, flowing dialog without a lot of um - so - wells of most new video speakers. Great job!
Thanks Jeff! I was a high school teacher for many years, so that helped with speaking...and thankfully I can edit out plenty of unnecessary stuff here 😅
One of the best piece of gear that I own. I don't use it everyday, but it's definitely changed my perspective on life and future. I took a chance and I see it paying off big. God is good despite the issues that I have had with this board. It's not perfect, but it's definitely a purchase you will not regret. My CONS- I cannot turn off the iMac and the Roadcaster 2 at the same time, and there are many more.
I have found that the fastest way to transfer large files on a Mac with USB is to use Rode Central, put in transfer mode, then ignore the app and open the volume that pops up on your finder. Then it is really fast to just open the volume and drag your file to the folder you want to put it in. It transfers a 1GB file in about 1 minute or less. Using the Rode Central transfer app can take half an hour or more.
I sold my RCP1 and bought RC Duo, it is indeed a great device! Thankfully in the time being I only require two microphones, so I don't need the RCP2, not having the TRRS input was a real deal-breaker for RCP2 for me, and I'm glad that they addressed that request with RC Duo. Great device indeed!
I just did the same thing and absolutely love the Duo! Plus takes up way less room and has more power! Found on used and only had to pay $50 for the difference lol 😂
Appreciate you taking the time to chat about this product more! Also nice to see you have the competition around. 🤣 I have the first, and this second generation. The only thing I miss from the first generation is the 3.5mm input. Bluetooth is a dumpster fire. Bringing phone calls, or audio from my iPhone in is hit or miss with Bluetooth. For some reason my voice changer's no longer work... I haven't had time to look into it because I am busy with other things, and honestly it's not the end of the world. The power button sucks. It has nothing to do with double clicking to turn it off - I can barely get a single button click to turn it on or off. I actually think it's getting worse. The latency bothered me coming from the RCP1 to the RCP2. I got used to it after a while. I haven't heard any clicking in the headphones. If it's power delivery - are you on a UPS system aka uninterruptible power supply and battery backup? Maybe that would remedy this?
2 years for you, 1 week for me! Interesting to hear how it’s been treating you! I watched all your videos before I got it and honestly, so far so good!
Spot on! A few updates are supposed to come. The one I’m waiting on is a few more virtual channels. Still the RCP2 Is worth every dollar and I enjoy having it as an option. Thanks Tom.
Indeed. I too have really enjoyed learning to use mine since last October (2023). Re: those tiny, random clicks. I've noticed them too when recording and, to be on the safe side, run my exported audio through Auphonic (free) to remove any hint of noise before continuing a bit more processing, mixing, and mastering in Adobe Audition. That also helps remove any echo since I record in an untreated space.. Another step, sure, but it results in pretty good audio overall from a non-professional's p.o.v.
I'm glad you mentioned that this unit is not for musicians. I agree... I use the Rodecaster for my radio show recordings (vocals)... and it's amazing! BUT, for music, turntables, instruments, I use the SSL2 sound card. Thanks for the review. Last comment, I wish Rode had a preset for killing all effects, including effects on master outs etc. AND I wish Rode had a way to export custom Mic settings to transfer from one Rodecaster to another.
Love the channel Tom! Great colors. Fun to watch and great content.

I've never encountered the clicking on the headphones on my RCP2. I find that one interesting, and it does sound like RF interference of some sort. 10000% agree on the power connector though. I am considering retrofitting mine once the warranty expires.......
can confirm the clicking is from bigger electronics or appliances turning on and off. In my case it only happens when the AC compressor turns on. Hasn't been heard in any recordings or streams so far, after about a year.
After watching your earlier videos, I bought one for my home office. While its mostly used in Zoom and work meetings, one mic, I do use it for virtual meetups. The fact that I can have one nice mic for myself, I can mic up two people using The wireless MEs. (And can set up and configure mic profiles for each type of mic) So, ok, I'm not a sophisticated hard core user. But for me. The price of a mic amp to USB that had options for more than one mic... this unit gave me more bang for the buck. Now when I do meetings, my voice sounds great
Tom, I never got the chance to get a Rødecaster at all.........UNTIL now!! I got a deal, and got the OG Pro and... man, it is amazing even when it does not have all the features, to me as a starter option, and how cheap I got it, it is AMAZING!!
It is a very great device. I am about to put it to its LIMITS! 36 hours of recording within 2 days… if it can keep up, I’ll be putting it through even more in the coming weeks haha. We’ll see how it goes! I might make a video about it 🤔 The clicking in my headphones is something I have been trying to figure out to! Have quite a few people mentioned that to you? Power supply being USB-C is definitely not great. I really wish it still had the OG rodecaster power supply.
Def excited to watch this. I had a rodecaster pro 1. Had to sell it due to financial hardships. I ended up getting a Zoom P4, and was shocked how good it sounded and how better its headphone monitors were compared to the Rode.
Thank you Tom! I'm curious, you mentioned that you made a video about the arm you have the RCP2 mounted on. I've not been able to find that video, but I'm really curious about it. I bought the RCP2 after watching your videos almost 2 years ago. Would you mind linking to the video that you made that goes into detail about your RCP2 mounting arm?
Just got mine yesterday and am excited to use it for recording. Your video on Mix-Minus was super helpful for my setup and understanding the routing options as I was getting a bunch of feedback off my mic initially when going into Garageband.. so thanks!
The music part with the comparison of the gigcaster helped me very much so thank you. Would love a video about that, I have a home desktop studio I’m looking for a good mixer to tie everything in right now
You mention a random clicking in headphones & monitors. I had the same thing and tracked it back to my smartphone. It would occur when my smartphone was on the desk a few feet from the RCP2. I think it is when the phone is transmitting but not actively in a call. As soon as I moved the phone across the room the click or crackle stopped.
Another great one Tom. I think Latency can be measured through the mixer, maybe an important metric in a mixer review. Not suggesting you go full Project Farm. I think the DLZ Creator has faster latency, we could be splitting tortussus or hairs here ;-) You've got one of the best A/V channels out there because you make it easy to believe in your impeccable ethics, a ray of light in an occasionally dark world, thanks!
Totally agree with everything. As soon as I'd want to record some decent audio, I'd pull out my Arturia audio interface. But for anything online based, RCPII is just smashing.
Wonderful review! I was shocked to hear you hear a clicking noise every once in awhile! I thought I was the only one. I have tried to see if I could replicate it but it’s totally random. I had decided it was because I was using a basic xlr cable with no shielding but it looks like you have a much nicer xlr and still have the same problem. On another note I had read that rode was going to be releasing a wireless (recording in progress) light that you could hang outside your studio that would connect with the record button. I haven’t seen anything more on that. Maybe it was just someone wishing for it, but it sounded like a cool idea! Keep up the great work!
The only thing the Mackie has is automix, which according to Curtis Judd is perfect in multi person recordings. Maybe Røde can put it in a future update, but it is also a main selling point for the Mackie. Since they are both owned by the same company some diversification is needed to sell both. But the original Rodecaster was and is revolutionary and the Pro II is the further developement of that. Nice review.
The RCP2 is a great interface. Sad to say I was an early purchaser and I've had 2 replacements this far! Third time lucky. For me, I prefer the original Rodecaster Pro. For a simple podcast that allows remote connectivity with no complications it wins every time for me. But, aye, still love Rode products.
Tom, Your video are distinctively informative, educative and as transparent as possible.. I love to Rodecaster pro if all i need to do is talking but it doesn't shine much when it comes to music streaming or recording classes or courses. I teach guitar online and I had to return to my Yamaha AG 06 (will be nice if you make a video on that ) The latency is a real deal breaker for a music educator/content. ( never returned mine though) lol
Dude, the latency issue is a real thing. That doesn't mean your unit is just like the others, and yes, you may have gotten a well working one just like a lot of people. But there are those people who simply weren't that lucky and they get to hear their voice in the headphones with an obvious unpleasant delay. And that'll never be OK. And the audio specs don't make it good for music production, you're right about that. It's just good enough for podcasting.
Hi Tom :) Your videos are so far the best in quality, in knowledge and in perspectives :) I would like to use my rodecaster with Ecamm...Do you have some video speaking about all the uses that we can have with this powerful combination? I also would like to ask you if you tried already use the shure SM7b connect to the Rode wireless go 2 and after to the Rodecaster pro 2. If yes, how was the result? My intention is to have a Set so remotely as possible but i´m not sure if i will lost quality. Thanks so much all the enthusiasm that you bring on that :)
Thank you for all the kind words! The RCP works great with Ecamm- you can just select it as an audio source and be off to the races. I don't think there's a way to connect an SM7B to the Wireless Go, but I do have a video about how I made the SM7B wireless: ua-cam.com/video/a548mJ7X5mA/v-deo.html
I love having the option to have an external hard drive recording a backup. That added redundancy saved a couple of recordings while I was on beta firmware and experienced a glitch (that I think was fixed in the most recent firmware) where the recording didn't save to the SD card.
I just purchased my RCP Duo today at Best Buy.. and got a discount $479 + tax.. I thought it was a good deal.. Your video about the VESA arm as a mount got me intrigued🤔 So I modified an extra tablet arm I had to take a VESA mount.. Such a neat trick.. Could You do a video about the MIDI controls and how to program them?? Thanks for your informative content..
Woo hoo that’s an awesome deal! I have this old video that covers midi on the original RCP: ua-cam.com/video/wS-9CaA5d_k/v-deo.htmlsi=vYsG9LnX_W1EifYx Truth is, it’s a bit beyond my knowledge and the setup feels so clunky I just don’t use it too often 😬 (But if you’re already familiar with midi then it might seem totally normal)
Hey Tom , thanks for this video I have this unit but just haven’t made the time get acquainted with it so all your in-depth knowledge excites me to finally dive into it 🎚️📲☢️🛜🎤 Blessings
I'm not sure why latency would be a problem (I don't own any RCP). We've been doing it for years: guitar into an interface, into for instance Line 6 Helix Native on the Mac. No problems.
Not sure if you read older comments but please do a video on the gigcaster. I want a device for doing my online music lessons, and music sessions. Some via zoom, some via live stream youtube. I'd be using a loop pedal and possibly play a backing track over one of the channels. I wonder if I should the gigcaster or something like a rode duo + external amp modeler.
This has been on my list for a long time! It’s excellent for everything music related but I find the interface a bit clunky and strange. Nothing else comes close for music though.
25:00 ok. I get it. I’m an acoustic performer and I don’t use modeling. In the 80s, I used a chorus a lot, but I grew away from that quickly at the end is the decade. The only time I would use amp modeling would be even I use an electric, but I would use my Vox modeling amp and mix it. Of course, that has its own latency, but it’s a known variable
Been using my RCP2 for a little over year and have not been pleased with the sound quality. I don't get good clear sound from my Shure SM7B even at 72db. I'm ordering cloud lifter today and if that doesn't get me the gain I need then I'm going to go with another mixer. This was also my second unit because the first one had the problem with the sound board firing randomly, and the MOBO was apparently fried. This is not an anomaly. In the buried reviews you find online many people have had these same issues, but almost none of the video reviewers talk about it. I get the feeling Rode rushed this, got a ton of negative backlash, ignored/buried it, and wants to sweep it under the rug and move on to other product lines.
Zoom podtrak P4 is great as small, affordable recorder, we use it for simple podcast and live streams for over 6 mc and must say deliver all we need, much better choice than audio interface we used before in terms of usability.
Hi TOM! hope you are doing great, beforehand thank you for your videos, they have helped me so much!. I have a suggested video Idea of the usage of the Rode caster duo/pro with the Rode Unify program, which would be more towards streaming or just general gaming when it comes to having full control of your Spotify, Discord, Obs, etc. Thank you Tom!
Thanks Tom! That has been my experience with the Rodecaster Pro ii as well, with one exception that I didn't hear mentioned. This unit is NOT good at sending an analog line level signal to a camera or other piece of audio gear. The voltage from the monitor out jacks is somewhere strange between a mic level and line level, and really doesn't work well for either. For this reason, the unit can be quite difficult to gain stage if you are trying to use it as an analog/effects front end. It's made really to only be digitally connected to a computer. I have yet to try the Mackie boards, but allegedly (I think it was Curtis who mentioned this) the line level outs are a true line level on those units.
I own the RCP 2 and I will echo (pun?) the complaints about the headphone latency. It’s so challenging to get over for me. I have to speak into it for at least 15-20 minutes before my brain can adjust to it, but even then I never stop noticing it. I just get used to it. On the note about build-quality, I had the micro SD card slot break within the first month but they were able repair it for free so that was nice. I secretly hoped they would also fix the headphone latency on my unit because I told them about that too, but it’s the same sadly.
I recommend that you use the wireless update feature by turning it off, if you accidentally turn off the device, its memory will burn. Please only update and use via wired connection.
@@tombuck In the meantime Tom, thank you for responding and for your always interesting content. Your response got me thinking about the problem. I wanted to give it a try this morning and found that to get rid of the white noise in the background you just need to make sure that you have not activated any other inputs that a microphone is not connected to. In fact without a microphone this noise is present but by connecting my Procaster mic and closing all mic channels that I do not use, the noise disappears even with very high gain. So if I had this noise it was only my fault. Thanks again Tom, I am very grateful for your content.
13:50 I’ve experienced transfer times that are so long it makes the transfer process completely unusable. I’ve made several attempts to transfer 1-2 hour podcast interviews and it simply doesn’t work. I even left it overnight and the progress bar was still in the same location when I checked it the following morning.
Your information is always excellent and I always learn a lot from you. But no one has made a video about how to use the Rhodecaster Pro 2 with the Yolo Ultra Box. Please consider doing that.
The thing I dislike the most about the Rodecaster pro 2 is that your main volume control is gone when you dive in the menues. Offcourse you can allways use the chanel fader but I had it more than once that I was menue diving while there was something playing and I had to decrease the volume and I would love to have a dedicated master volume knob or fader...
I have two Wireless Pro sets. I’d love to connect all four transmitters wirelessly to this thing. Otherwise I’m still stuck using two splitters to the tow receivers to control each of the four mics for a podcast on the faders :/
I’ve just bought the gigcaster 8 as a singer/ acoustic guitar player and love it. I also tried a live stream via OBS and had zero issues. What issues did you find that made you not recommend for streaming? Just curious. Thanks
With the headphone latency. I found it worse than the first rodecaster pro using the FRONT headphone jack port. I noticed you are using the back headphone ports.. Not sure if you have tried the front. Great video as always. Thank you
Hi Tom, Love your videos. I get alot of information from your content. What's the obsession with the Aquabats? We love them because of Yo Gaba Gaba and watching it with our son who has autism!
About the latency: I don't hear the latency in normal circumstances, but after activating "special effects", e.g. voice pitcher, the latency appears. So, RC2 balances on the edge of performance, and I believe some people hear the latency also without "special effects". About the power button: I don't agree it's great "because it is hard to use". RC1 has perfect power button - easy to use, but you have to use it twice to power the device off. What was wrong with this old button? I don't get it. But after all: I agree - RC2 it's a great device :) And I love colors in your studio, Tom - where can I buy this nice color windshield for Podmic? I want it! :D
How and where did you get what ever that is that makes the podmic blue!? That is not only awesome but seriously increases my desire to have a podmic in my collection. Keep up the good work brrotha I always enjoy your videos!
I use a RCP2 for dual PC streaming, it's a little overkill but I like to have faders for everything and this allows for Music, OBS alerts, in game chat, discord, game and mic to all be on separate sliders. I would rather have a little too much than not quite enough.
Awesome review! I was wondering if this is capable of changing volumes of multiple things separately like Spotify, game, discord, with the sliders? Similar to the GoXLR.
Currently there's not really a way to assign the physical faders to individual software apps. That definitely sounds like an area where the GoXLR wins.
Maybe you did, but I don't think you mentioned in your 30 minute video the glaring quality control issues, from funky smart pads, random updates bricking the unit, or the power surges back through the usb port.
Hi Tom, this is the best review I've seen, i was thinking of buying the roadcaster, i play the sax and would like to play live with reverb, delay, compression etc, so would you say the Gigcaster would be best for this? Regards.
Thanks for the video, I have a similar setup as yours, but regarding the Rode Headphones, did you encounter any cosmetic issue with it? I noticed a loud scratchy noise transferred from the cable attached to the ear cups then magnified… it’s so sensitive if I touch it with my fingers and also with a head movement.
The only real issue I came across is lack of analog inputs, four is too low, five or six is what I need to have. As I have three mic inputs and a stereo input, where I am one input short, one mic needs disconnected if not in use. Maybe there will address this with a larger version, maybe a Rodecaster Pro III with better support for analog inputs and outputs.
Thanks for yet another great video! You said the RCP2 isn’t good with music, so I have a question. I’m a hobby DJ and I stream live from time to time. I don’t play any instruments I only stream what I mix. I really like the Røde products, but would you recommend me to go for BOSS instead?
For what you need, the RCP2 should work just fine. The Boss GCS8 has great built-in plugins for guitars (amps and effects) and vocals (pitch correction, harmonies, effects). But you may not put them to use. The RCP2 is nice when paired with their wireless mic’s too, could be game changer for your livestreams.
Unfortunately it's not easy to share presets, but I used this video as a guide and then made changes to suit my taste: ua-cam.com/video/U4hVGtdo5MY/v-deo.htmlsi=_qa3ndyLcB6qLSad
Tom, I love following you and you are why I switched from the Mixcast to the RCP. It is awesome. I have had it for 2 months. Only issue I have is that just recently all of a sudden I cannot toggle through the smart pads with the left right arrows buttons. They do not toggle through. Is this in settings? I would only ask you as you are the expert. Please Help me???
That sounds very strange! I would definitely reach out to Rode's support team. As far as I know, there isn't a way to lock the pads. Otherwise I'm happy you're enjoying the RCP!
Thanks so much. I have reached out no answer yet. I did buy it through B&H ITs so weird as it worked perfectly for the first 1 1/2 month or so then all of a sudden the bottom arrows don't work. I have factory reset it as well. No damage as it is covered by a hard plastic clear cover all the time! Just weird. @@tombuck
I still have the RCP1. There hasn’t been one reason to upgrade. Works great, does everything I need it to. Awesome products.

I try to assume that they had to have thought things out when designing stuff!
I love mine, except for a couple things:
1) The headphone volume #1 (which is the most commonly used) should be closest to the right edge of the device.
Congrats Tom for another great video. Accurate information and great production. Greetings from Ecuador.
Many thanks! Glad it helped!
Appreciate you taking the time to chat about this product more! Also nice to see you have the competition around. 🤣
I have the first, and this second generation.
Watched the whole video and it was top-notch fo' sure... you are cool to listen to and have very engaging content and studio setup!
Hey thank you so much!
2 years for you, 1 week for me! Interesting to hear how it’s been treating you!
I watched all your videos before I got it and honestly, so far so good!
They're not available yet, but I think Rode will start selling them soon.
Spot on! A few updates are supposed to come. The one I’m waiting on is a few more virtual channels. Still the RCP2 Is worth every dollar and I enjoy having it as an option. Thanks Tom.
Great video, great voice, great review! Thank you!
The RCP2 versatility has been such a great addition to my setup! It handles everything so well! For me it works great. Fantastic video
(And can set up and configure mic profiles for each type of mic)
So, ok, I'm not a sophisticated hard core user.
But for me. The price of a mic amp to USB that had options for more than one mic... this unit gave me more bang for the buck.
Now when I do meetings, my voice sounds great
3:22 🤯 musician who uses the RP2 in live solo shows standing by… 😊
Tom, I never got the chance to get a Rødecaster at all.........UNTIL now!!
I might make a video about it 🤔
The clicking in my headphones is something I have been trying to figure out to! Have quite a few people mentioned that to you?
Power supply being USB-C is definitely not great. I really wish it still had the OG rodecaster power supply.
That’s a ridiculous amount of recording!
And yes- in the comments here multiple people have said they have the clicking too.
I got a Pro2 in a sale and it was only $100 more than the duo. It is much more than I need and a bit big, but So much more room to move as a I grow!😊
Your video on Mix-Minus was super helpful for my setup and understanding the routing options as I was getting a bunch of feedback off my mic initially when going into Garageband.. so thanks!
I just bought the duo. My rcp 1 had major issues with the mic pres. make noises. I didn’t want to upgrade but went ahead and did it. The duo is great.
I will definitely have to try this out!
BTW: Rode is merging with Mackie. Should be interesting to see what they come up.
@tombuck Rode purchased Mackie and is merging with them so this is a reason I am holding getting either for a little while to see what they do.
Wow I use my RCP II everyday. I cant believe its been two years already. 🤙🏽
I've been watching your videos for months and now just realised that I haven't subscribed yet. Keep up the good work. :D
Thanks! So glad the channel has been helpful!
I still have my Rodecaster Pro (original) and its still working like a gem 💎 👌
Awesome review! Super informative 👍 btw, your room / background and b-roll look awesome Tom
Thank you very much! I appreciate that!
I teach guitar online and I had to return to my Yamaha AG 06 (will be nice if you make a video on that )
The latency is a real deal breaker for a music educator/content.
It might be redundant to say this, but I'm a huge fan of redundancy options. 😬
I have this old video that covers midi on the original RCP: ua-cam.com/video/wS-9CaA5d_k/v-deo.htmlsi=vYsG9LnX_W1EifYx
Truth is, it’s a bit beyond my knowledge and the setup feels so clunky I just don’t use it too often 😬
(But if you’re already familiar with midi then it might seem totally normal)
Hey Tom , thanks for this video I have this unit but just haven’t made the time get acquainted with it so all your in-depth knowledge excites me to finally dive into it 🎚️📲☢️🛜🎤 Blessings
I'm not sure why latency would be a problem (I don't own any RCP). We've been doing it for years: guitar into an interface, into for instance Line 6 Helix Native on the Mac. No problems.
I don't do podcasting but when people ask me I always point them to the Roadcaster!
I’ve been hoping for this video
25:00 ok.
I use on my dj set and the sound is so great i stream on TikTok twitch and UA-cam the preamps are wonderful
Zoom podtrak P4 is great as small, affordable recorder, we use it for simple podcast and live streams for over 6 mc and must say deliver all we need, much better choice than audio interface we used before in terms of usability.
I use it as a DJ for all my streaming and multi media projects 👍🏾😇
Hi TOM! hope you are doing great, beforehand thank you for your videos, they have helped me so much!.
Tom! You're the man.
Haha thank you!
Yes, the Rodecaster Pro 2 has a solid 76 decibels of gain, but have you ever tried using it above 60 dB? It produces an unbearable background noise.
This is strange- I've had mine for over two years now and haven't had any noise or hiss, even when mazing out the gain.
I do wanted to check where to get those color XLR cables.. I do love them!
There’s a link in the description, but they’re RØDE’s own cables and pretty widely available 👍
But aside from this I love that device!
Thanks this is good information that I needed
I’d be down to deep dive into one of your reviews with the gigcaster. It would be amazing
I have two Wireless Pro sets. I’d love to connect all four transmitters wirelessly to this thing. Otherwise I’m still stuck using two splitters to the tow receivers to control each of the four mics for a podcast on the faders :/
As far as I know the two-transmitter limit is a hardware thing, so I don't think there's a way around it.
Thank you
The RCP 2 doesn’t have a front headphone jack (but the Duo does 🤷🏻♂️)
Hi Tom, Love your videos. I get alot of information from your content. What's the obsession with the Aquabats? We love them because of Yo Gaba Gaba and watching it with our son who has autism!
Has it been 2 years already!?! My God does time fly!!
3:51 that usb c cable really hangin on for dear life
“I’m tired boss.”
@@tombuck "yes john, i think i understand"
Keep up the good work brrotha I always enjoy your videos!
it's amazing how do you care about your visuals in your videos. so awesome. from where is the podmic filter? it's looks amazing
Great video!
Thanks!
Regards.
I would really like for it to support (perhaps next version) 32-bit float or some kind of "clip guard" like the WaveXLR does.
Hey Tom! Great video as per usual. I was wondering where you got those ear piece covers for your RODE headphones and if they have different colors?
Rode sent them last summer, but I think they were just a limited edition thing. I definitely wish they were for sale!
yaaay another video
We love ours!
Can you share your ShureSM7B preset that you created in another video and show us what each setting does as well?
Just weird. @@tombuck
