Homer Simpson was classed as a loser in the 90's. He had a detached house, 3 kids, car and could afford holidays and a stay at home wife, all on a single job. Not such a loser these days!
Sorry but my car saves me money, compared to the cost of getting the bus. Saves me time so i can spend more time at work. Public transport is more pricey than a car. I'm not losing a days pay because the buses are on strike (nothing against them striking, but they should be paid fairly to not need to strike). I'm not late because they are unreliable.
She did not earn £300 a year more like per week and more chance to get promoted. If she saved up for 4 years she could buy a house, full payment in cash back then.
Did the atom bomb ever drop? In the 20s we didn’t get to hide under our desks because we were at home during a global pandemic. There was no school. You’re out of touch.
In US bare minimum where I live looking at 900-1,000. No allowances for food, activities, transport(bus or otherwise) or taxes. That is rent, rental insurance, water, electric. Always have insurance apartment will not pay for temporary housing insurance is contractly obligated to.
Sorry boomers are right. The gen z is made to belive she needs all the trappings. Advertisers make it so the new gen "need" all these material things. A car is deffo not necessary
@@loki8672 kid am 40 am not an oap. I clearly watched the video am just from a different era. If I had to go to work 4miles away in my 20s I rode my bike or got a bus just like numerous friends an family. A car is not essential it's a luxury that certainly helps I've got 2 cars. My point is it is not essential.
@@hm27200😂😂😂 quit it already! Not everyone lives 5 mi from Walmart or the doctor. Not every child lives on a bus line & public transportation is not everywhere. I can’t get an Uber or have anything but groceries brought to me & I’m not walking to get a cigarette. Everybody just do your own thing how YOU want to do it. I live very rural & my Spring went dry yet I am hypervigilent to be clean. Can’t change my situation without a car to get a job to make payments on a well to be dug so I can be clean keep the job to pay for the well KARWN
You are dead wrong. Some workplaces are only accessible by car, for example those just off a dual carriageway. If it is remote with no bus links, as is often the case, then you NEED a car.
I literally can't get some of the best paying jobs offered to me because I don't have a car or lisence. So no, wrong. And 3 of my last jobs required I have a smarthphone in order to properly function at my work. These are not luxuries. Luxury is going on vacation every year, which my boomer parants always did, luxury is owning the latest tech and gadgets, which my boomer parants always had. Oh and not to mention, most of them still do today. So nope, nope and no.
Self-Agrandisement should be the word for Boomers then. Do you seriously believe Boomers worked so much harder and earned what they got as opposed to Gen Z, who could get it too if only they worked as hard as you did? You would seriously cry and maybe even self-delete if you were born into Gen Z.
to afford a 23000 house earning 300 a year youd need to be working for 76 years so that sounds like a drastic exaggeration
Plus there were 2 of them earning money!
All of the above

She also didn’t have to pick up the slack of others around her like younger people who work their asses off do.

In the 60s we hid under our school desks to protect from an atom bomb attack. A regular drill.
@Sara17783 There were two Civil Defense channels on AM radio marked with a triangle where you were to tune for information on the emergency.

It's all about the adjustments & sacrifice that one has to do😊
Gen x.... the forgotten generation

Life is all about choices. Get a bus!
Cars are 100% needed. Especially in rural areas. Plus, who wants to go on rancid public transport. Manky seats, strangers sat next to you.
Get bugs off others clothing & Eww I say WhatEVAAA LADY
Key word from granny was WE. She may have only earned a little each year but she had others and acommunity around her.
