Isnt the government paying out for places like Sainsbury's and local car parks to have chargers? Its not really the government, its the tax payers paying out again. Petrol stations didnt get any help.
@justgetatesla but it's not the government, it's my money and all the other tax payers. Did they do this to help petrol stations in the past? So when we say government. It's not them as they are employed by us. They make decisions that are also wrong. And they waste our money on foreign aid and definitely on wind turbines. Especially when they pay more to the company who owns them to keep them switched off. All those switched off turbines could help the elderly. Yet the tax payers who own an electric vehicle at Sainsbury's etc. will be paying to get it installed, and then paying to use something he already paid towards.
Problem is that you sit behind your keyboard spouting the FUD you’ve been fed. Wind - as I type this - is the biggest type of power generation we have feeding the grid. 27% of our power - right now - is wind. More than gas. More than nuclear. Go check it out yourself - Gridwatch.
@justgetatesla there you go believing that you are correct. Wind is the biggest source of renewables. Gas at present in the UK is the largest. Although it is at its lowest use since 2015 And when we see that they pay a fortune to turn them off. Then why have them if they can't benefit from them. Nuclear power well we have to bring in the french to do that. And that's billions and time to do. And it's all the tax payers money that is paying for all of this. That's my money and everyone who pays that tax man. Any plans they take have to be paid back and that may be my grandchildren that have to pay that. £1 billion plus this year on switching wind turbines off the grid. That's up from the last few years. Yet we have solar, wind, hydroelectric and bioenergy. That's the 27% of renewables you mentioned. Nuclear the cleanest form and best will be back up and running most of the country with new plants. But they will take time. Sitting behind a keyboard and using it. You do find out how much money is wasted. And it's mine as well as everyone who pays the tax man. And then we have Ed Mills and his one man band trying to fool us all out of more money. His recommendation from alleged companies where he is the sole owner. Plus the landscape is terrible with those monstrosities and especially around this area we see so many turbines at sea. And even flying over the English channel Irish sea and you see nothing but wind turbines. Most of the time they are switched off . But we still have all these flights in the sky, motorsports, multi millionaires buying super cars that guzzle fuel and do damage. Yet they want us all to believe that the EV does no damage.. Come on heavier vehicles, a fire risk that the fire officers have concerns over and train now for EV going on fire. And the batteries themselves, well the material has limitations and the mining and shipping also has an effect. But we will still hear people saying it's greener. Yes if we close our eyes and forget about the battery and how it was made and how it's charged.
Aren't you missing the fact that the v4 chargers don't do 800v, so can't to the very high charging rates. I would have a look at who owns Ionity, that is how other car manufacturers are rolling out chargers.
This didn't answer the question in the title. I get that they are Superchargers for most practical purposes, and that they have a different sticker on them that sort of match the branding of where you buy your coffee and do.. what needs to be done. But how are they different from a Tesla Supercharger? Who is paying whom and how behind the scenes here? Some of these "forecourts" have Tesla branded Superchargers, these have not, so to quote the title: "What is going on?" Eh.Maybe it's just me being nosy.
@@justgetatesla Yes, but why? To quote every annoying 5-year-old. What's in it for the forecourt, what's in it for Tesla, and how are they dividing up my money between themselves? If they just straight up pay Tesla for the chargers and let Tesla make the money from the electricity, then they are paying a very high price to get some more customers for their snacks and Tesla is laughing and rolling around in the money. Maybe Tesla discounts the price of the chargers? Maybe the forecourt gets a cut of the electricity sales? Maybe third-party chargers that work as well as Superchargers are hideously expensive? (Well, they are.) So expensive that you don't really make the money back from the electricity? So since you are basically paying for the extra foot traffic, why not just give the whole business to Tesla? These sorts of endless questions. Probably without available straight answers. Bonus question: For now, this is only happening in the UK. Will the practice spread, and when?
@@Terry-q7yactually, mine is paid for by Tesla as well, and they even hand me some more dollars to have some fun. Okay, maybe not 100% correct since it is Tesla Stock that pays for my Tesla

@justgetatesla Exactly but I want the option in the satnav to be able to exclude these, just like it doesn't use other non Tesla chargers. Currently, they get planned in which means having to manually check each one, which we didn't have to do before.

Then there are things where they just refuse to listen. Long term - they may even be right to not listen. Don't know though. Just think there aren't many roundabouts in California (or presumably much fog).
@@junehanzawa5165 I've yet to come across ANY voice recognition software that can consistently decipher my strong regional dialect... by the time it's actually got what I'm asking it to do, I'd either have missed my turning, arrived at my destination still in cold car, or something similar 😁
If you want an ocean of randomly placed buttons for functions, other manufacturers are available. I’ve never understood why learning random button placement is good, and stick it all on a screen is bad
Isnt the government paying out for places like Sainsbury's and local car parks to have chargers?
Its not really the government, its the tax payers paying out again. Petrol stations didnt get any help.
You don’t think that the government are helping Sainsbury’s? We give huge tax subsidies to supermarkets in the form of tax credits
"currently". Tesla will roll out 1000V cabinets.
That’s ok Calum. Currently practically every car on the road is 400v
I see the OVO are trying to do the One App does all thing for non Tesla
The key word being trying 😏
This didn't answer the question in the title. I get that they are Superchargers for most practical purposes, and that they have a different sticker on them that sort of match the branding of where you buy your coffee and do.. what needs to be done. But how are they different from a Tesla Supercharger? Who is paying whom and how behind the scenes here? Some of these "forecourts" have Tesla branded Superchargers, these have not, so to quote the title: "What is going on?" Eh.Maybe it's just me being nosy.
It’s a v4 supercharger unit, complete with Tesla branding on the plug. They’re different because they are not owned by Tesla.
I thought I recognised that site. But unlikely you'd be in the Peak District.

“Foreign”. As in not-Tesla
Euro garages are not foreign , they were set up by two brothers from Blackburn I believe .

Tesla as the global stadard? 100% YES!!!
Hi Ian. I just ordered a Model Y using your referral code a few days ago. White exterior and black interior just like yours. Cheers!
u get the free 1 year supercharging deal?
Thanks very much!!!
Elon Musk paid for my Tesla such a nice man, he said do you want 2 i said no just 1
@@Terry-q7yactually, mine is paid for by Tesla as well, and they even hand me some more dollars to have some fun.
Okay, maybe not 100% correct since it is Tesla Stock that pays for my Tesla
@@Slynell1 In the US it was only 3 months free supercharging and 3 months free FSD. Not sure where Tesla was offering 1 year. It'd be sweet to have though.
Surely the V2 SC's were all Tesla connectors only and the Models S's (early ones) are Tesla connectors?
V3/4 are CCS2 and are only shown on the app if your car can take them?
Don't forget Tesla sold Carbon Credits (which we know to be useless for the environment - allegedly) for billions so that legacy auto could carry on making gas guzzlers, guilt free - which would have paid for said SC network (allegedly)!
And, as far as I know, they will hope to do the same, when legacy auto fails to meet it's ZEV mandate in the years to come (allegedly, allegedly)!
Tesla connector here was a modified type 2
Why are hese things called supoerchargers? They are just ordinary Level 3 chargers. Super they are not.
Why are 50kW units called Rapid chargers?
What would you consider a "Supercharger"? I mean its mostly marketing hyperbole - thats what Tesla have always called them.
Tesla in Australia (sans stalks) is going to get run over by BYD, Xpeng, MG, GWM on price, quality and those expensive features tesla apparently can't afford anymore (the shareholders are the priority). Tesla needs protection.......and not having a functioning CEO is the real reason.
I want to be able to filter these out in the navigation. They're higher priced than Tesla owner chargers.
Just give us the choice as to which networks to show in the car and when the choice is Tesla, stop showing non Tesla!
49p per kilowatt at this one.
@brianhill3603 Isolated case, I want to filter them out as an option. I don't want the car automatically including them if it now means that every route, I have to manually check each charger to see if it's Tesla or not.
Ignore any suggested stop at “EV OTM”
@justgetatesla Exactly but I want the option in the satnav to be able to exclude these, just like it doesn't use other non Tesla chargers.
Currently, they get planned in which means having to manually check each one, which we didn't have to do before.
It’s not really a manual check - it tells you EV OTM. I already have charging locations I won’t use - Scotch Corner as a prime example. I just set another alternative as a stop and it reroutes
What a ton of misinformation…..🤦♂️
I would be delighted for you to correct my “misinformation” - which parts were wrong
Good for the middle class folk!
Good for any folk.
@justgetatesla providing they are wealthy enough to afford an ev, most working class folk can't afford one.
There cheap used EVs.
@spsmith45 yeah, around £4 or £5k about 5 times above my budget, and all that's on offer for that is an old zoe or leaf! Might as well stay with my old ford focus!
If your budget is a few grand then it isn’t just EVs out of budget - it’s any modern car. Why the EV hate? Who fed you that?
Besides, if you want cheap used cars they have to start as expensive new cars. Did you used to sneer at posh folks buying new a Ford Focus?
What do you mean 'We've never had the Tesla Connector" in the UK?? What do you think Model S and Model X used when first introduced to the UK? Why do those cars need an adaptor to use CCS chargers? What charge plug was on V1 and V2 superchargers? Get your facts straight.
They use a modified type 2. The same that can still be seen at v2 chargers which are double headed. That isn’t the same as the NACS Tesla connector.
Rolling out Tesla superchargers is only good news for the owners of 400V cars. It will be good news for everybody when Tesla finally convert to 800V or 960V.
When you say “owners of 400v cars- you know that is basically everyone, yeah?
