      Pulling the regulator assembly will be more challenging than installing the repair kit. Also you will need to adjust the window after reinstalling the assembly(because they auto seal when you close the doors). After you repair the assembly, plug it in and test it. Try to install the glass first and lower the glass before reinstalling the assembly(I remember it was hard to install the assembly with the glass fully extended). I didn't adjust my window before I reinstalled everything and thought I had to take everything apart again! Turns out you can just remove the leather panel and adjust the window through the 3 holes behind it WHEW. lmk if you have questions. Good luck!

After removing the window, I removed the 2 top screws securing the regulator and I still can't pull it out. I don't see any other screw that's is holding it on my 07 CLK 550. Did you do anything else to remove yours? Thanks

      @@learner7334 watch this video. ua-cam.com/video/gRhB6EQmRbU/v-deo.html skip to 19:17. There is a long screw behind the outer trim/mouding that must be removed. This is not unusual for German cars but seems completely ridiculous to me. Good Luck!

      @@erickim6533 isn’t it only the front windows that adjust when you open and close the doors? There’s no doors in the back

    Long one wraps around bottom, short one wraps around the top near the gear slots

    One of my quarter windows goes down about 2" then stops. It can go back up and no strange noises. Switch and motor must be OK. IS this likely a mechanical (regulator) or electronic issue (reset something)?

      Can you please help: I removed the 2 top screws securing the regulator and I still can't pull it out. I don't see any other screw that's is holding it on my 07 CLK 550. Did you do anything else to remove yours? Thanks!

      Learner73 at the bottom there is a third screw holding the regulator. It is accessed from the outside little trim piece. You need to remove the trim in order to access de screw (leave the car outside so it warms up with the sun or heat it with heat gun to make it much easier to remove without braking the pins; push from the side of the door, with door open, with a big screwdriver). Once you remove the trim you have isolation protecting the screw, you need to cut it. And there you go, your regulator should be free! You can use aluminium tape to cover the hole that you did!       Learner73 you’re welcome! It is in fact really tight to remove the regulator. You should try to “open and close” the window manually and find the position that allows the regulator to come out. Once you get the right position it should be pretty easy, no need to force anything

    How did you get the old plastic pulley that houses the two springs out? I've tried to unscrew the metal bracket but the screws just spin around and it's almost impossible to hold the other side down. I'm using a T25 to unscrew them. Any help would be much appreciated!

      You have to remove the silver bracket behind to get to the other t25 screw that’s spinning in place behind. Mine are just stuck together and will not break loose for the life of me, stuck at this point.

    Hi, when I install the regulator kit, I see the long cord hardly touching the panel (because the panel is curl). What's wrong?

    Still baffled that this solution exists for 209's but not for 207 chassis. It's not like there's a drastic difference in design whatsoever.
    Either way, nice to see it up close to know what's what.

    Thanks for the video. I will definitely use it to guide me through the repair. I see that the kit for my failed left rear is currently not available on Amazon, but the kit for the right rear is available. They are not interchangeable are they ?

    I ACCIDENTALLY SAID THE TOP OF THE REGULATOR WAS THE BOTTOM BUT THE INSTALL IS STILL THE SAME.

    This is an excellent video on this repair. But I can not find a video with instructions to get to this area within the door panel. I have a 2006 CLK350 W209. Do you have a video you can recommend? Is the W208 Similar at all in the repair procedures for a W209? and if no answer to those questions. Must the seats be taken out, side panels taken off, and inner panel taken out to reach the regulator? Anything you can suggest would be a great help, and much appreciated.

      I don't know about w208. There is a screw under the outside trim piece. ua-cam.com/video/gRhB6EQmRbU/v-deo.html repair is time consuming but doable and will save you a lot of money. You need to adjust the window after you reinstall so don't put all the panels back on before you adjust.
