I think Firebat's video influence Jens a lot. There's a lot of similarity i can feel from it. you guys should try Firebat's vid too, his editor is also great!
The calculation I used was 8/9*7/8*6/7 to NOT get a specific minion - which is 66% so on the other hand the chance to get one was 33%. The probability math is sometimes more confusing than it looks and I appreciate all the people who try to help by pointing out mistakes in the comments but I can't keep replying to these so if you believe a calculation is incorrect check the description first. I will correct mistakes in there if needed and if you can't find a correction after half a day or so just assume that maybe you are making a mistake yourself with the calculation. ~ Jens
Hoang Nguyen No. 1/9(chance of spawn as first minion) + 8/9*1/8 (chance of spawn as second minion; in that case it shouldnt be the first, so not 1/8 but 8/9*1/8) + 8/9*7/8*1/7 (chance of spawn as third minion; same: minion shouldnt be the first or second, so not just 1/7) = 33%. Jens is absolutely right
I used to just listen to these videos in the background but since Jens has stepped up his editing game a whole lot I love watching them. Good job jens!
I feel like that guy was sniping. Said oops right after playing 3 minions and didn't kill bran when trump had no minions in hand. Noone in their right mind lets bran live.
Why is there no faceless conjurer in this deck? It seems like burgly bully would be dropped for it and you'd have much better value and synergy with bran/manic soulcaster.
I like that little tectbox with hints, however the the percentage you came up with is slightly wrong. if 9 unique minions died the chance is 1/9 + 1/8 + 1/7 which equates to 37.8%
Ravarath it's tough, your soul can be a good substitute in most cases but given the current state of ladder, it's probably too slow or just not good enough. You could give it give it a shot for science though
I'm pretty sure that with 9 minions dead, the chance of resurrecting any one when resurrecting 3 of them is actually around 38%... Not 33%... I might be wrong though.
I've seen Trump play an inexpensive dragon priest deck on steam. ATM play reno warlock but I get really salty when I loose to shaman and warrior on turn 5. I was thinking of playing dragon priest because it is good vs agro but then I thought the deck might not be good enough. Can anyone who has experience with dragon priest tell me whether it is worth to craft a dragon priest deck for a f2p account?
I think dragon priest is a great deck, last season it got me to rank 4 for first time, and i think i could go to lower ranks if i had more time to play.. dont run Dragon fire potion thats is my only advice.. with all the dragon decks on ladder the card is pretty bad..
he said something about it in the previous video. i think it has better stat distribution than ethereal conjurer (against aggro decks) and it may delay the spells from control decks and with antonidas the coins are really good in both matchups. at least that's what i understood :)
i've played vs someone who used your reno mage deck, i crushed him with my jade druid which is 100% budget 1600 dust no adventures no legendaries nor epics :P he dirty ratted my gadgetzan auctioneer in lvl 2 when i had 4 mana because of wild growth so i just cycled 5 cards and won with 16/16 golem at the end
For those wondering, it would be a 20 percent chance overall to summon the doomsayer. 1/9 with the first res, 1/8 with the second, and 1/7 with the third (since the same minion can't be resurrected twice with the same potion)
+videocadet there are 3 cases where trump gets doomsayer. On the first roll with 1/9 chance, on the second roll with 8/9*1/8 chance (8/9 because it has to fail the first roll) and 8/9*7/8*1/7 chance on the third roll. As it must miss the previous 2 rolls. This totals up to 1/3 or 33%
Actually i think it is a joke about his past calculations. I actually remember a video like that he said 33% but there was like 20% or 25% chance he had.
"what went so wrong this game?" not being able to deal with mountain giant, letting shambler take the giant's stats, and then being forced to play nearly your whole hand in 2 turns just to contest the board against a class which effectively draws 2 cards per turn lol
this is one reason all my reno mage decks have both BGH and forbidden flame. reno lock is very popular, and your deck's only answer to it is polymorph, a single card, or perhaps a flame lance you got from babbling book. BGH is honestly better than forbidden flame for this purpose since you need 8 mana to kill a mountain giant with flame, but you really need to kill the mountain giant when you have 5 mana. still run flame though since it's just a more versatile answer, and it's just as useful against aggro as it is against control. i'd run flame lance too, just to get even higher chances of having an answer to mountain giant, but the deck just doesn't have enough room, and forbidden flame is higher priority than flame lance because it doesn't suck against pirate warrior. whereas BGH doesn't suck against aggro shaman's flamewreathed faceless, which notably doesn't die to fireball.
also replaced blastcrystal potion with BGH in a reno lock deck just because the deck is mainly teched against the mirror. blastcrystal potion kills mountain giant, but mountain giant is preferably played early enough in the game that losing a mana crystal puts you at a significant disadvantage. BGH works much better in this specific role. it costs one more mana, but not only does it not have a downside, it has the upside of summoning a decent minion. basically a jankier firelands portal focused more on hard removal than damage. of course, blastcrystal potion can kill ysera, but you still have siphon soul and you're likely to be able to infer that the deck you're playing against has ysera, so you can save siphon soul for it. or you can make a kazakus potion dedicated to killing ysera. the difference here is that BGH can be used as early-game emergency hard removal. they play a 7/7 or an 8/8 on turn 4 or 5, and you HAVE to remove it NOW or you nearly always lose. siphon soul costs 6 mana, and blastcrystal potion destroys a mana crystal. a 5-mana kazakus potion might work if you get lucky with the polymorph target, or manage to roll direct dmg + aoe dmg on the same potion. a 10-mana mass sheep potion works fine, except that the 7/7 or 8/8 will be attacking your face for FIVE turns before you can even use that potion. of course the problem with even the ideal 5-mana kazakus potion is that it's not an emergency hard removal no matter what - you have to spend 4 mana just to discover the potion, which means you're paying a total of 9 mana to create a 3/3 and basically cast corruption on the 7/7. think about it, if you're removing it the turn after it's played, it's already hit you once. so the effect is no better than corruption, which only costs ONE mana. for this reason i've been testing corruption lately and it's actually worked out pretty well. as a reno lock deck i don't usually mind taking damage from problematic minions. i have the emergency hard removals, siphon soul and BGH, but instead of blastcrystal potion i use the more efficient corruption, basically using my health as a resource instead of my mana, because i have several cards in my deck that can directly control my health, and no cards that can compensate for lost mana, except i guess emperor thaurissan. the only situations where i'm really frustrated i have corruption instead of blastcrystal potion are against miracle rogue and reno dragon priest. if i already have 10 mana and they play ysera, my BGH can't kill it and i may not have siphon soul. blastcrystal potion would be a perfect answer, while corruption gives them another ysera proc, plus another 4 dmg attack. similar is true for a late-game edwin vancleef, though BGH and siphon soul are both perfect answers, i may not have them in hand or i may have been forced to use them on cold blooded minions and auctioneers. not having blastcrystal potion in the deck just means one fewer way to protect my life total from a 12/12 edwin, because i can't afford to take THAT much damage by playing corruption, knowing miracle rogue is going to have a heavy followup of burst dmg from hand. the 8/8 mountain giant is far less intimidating because i know reno lock can't chunk off my remaining ~20 health until, at the earliest, turn 8 with a perfect draw and a turn 6 or 7 emperor proc on ALL 3 combo pieces. the odds of that are just astronomically low, it does happen but using corruption on the early mountain giant is worth the risk, since you get a resource advantage in terms of hard removal, which translates to one of your big minions eventually going unanswered before you run out of answers to their big minions. which, in turn, translates to you being able to chip them down to 20 or 12 hp and finish them off with combo before they can finish you off with combo. it's pretty crazy how big an effect a 1-mana removal spell can have on a game. if you think about it, it's almost like casting sacrificial pact after they've played jaraxxus. there are lots of butterfly effects in hearthstone, the corruption example is certainly not the only one. any sort of cheap card can snowball in the midgame and heavily influence the state of the endgame. but relative to its influence, corruption definitely appears to be one of the most efficient snowball cards. the same could have been said for BGH before it was bumped to 5 mana, and i guess the same is still true for cards like divine spirit and inner fire. just in terms of the "effect-to-mana-cost ratio" those are some ridiculous cards. there aren't so many ways to create giant minions with so little mana. to my knowledge, it's basically questing adventurer, red mana wyrm, divine spirit/inner fire, and power overwhelming + base minion + brann + void terror, which i believe trump actually posted a video of recently. the prototypical "giant minion" is c'thun, but if you look at all the cards you have to play to create an enormous c'thun, the total mana cost is actually really high, and the odds of getting past like 20/20 in a real game are quite slim. with a regular c'thun deck you'd need brann to stick for multiple turns, and then you'd need to play several c'thun buffers, and it's still not possible to get into the 50s without further battlecry duplication effects like blood warriors, gang up, shadowstep, echo of medivh, brewmaster, etc. far less realistic than divine spirit + inner fire. the only relatively reliable way to make a giant c'thun on ladder is using emperor thaurissan, brann, blade of c'thun, shadowstep, and shadowcaster, and then hoping your opponent plays minions with giant stats you can steal and double. even then, the biggest c'thun ever created in a ranked game was far smaller than the biggest void terror. just the void terror's parameters alone produce bigger minions relative to the mana cost. like the best c'thun buffer costs 6 mana and does +3/+3, or +6 with brann. but for just a 4 mana eerie statue + brann you can buff a void terror +14/+14. if you can do it over multiple turns, you can make a giant void terror with brann, then the next turn play another big minion and have your 2nd void terror eat it up along with the 1st void terror while brann is up, and already you're past 100/100. this shit grows exponentially due to brann, so a third void terror is at least past 200/200. blade of c'thun can only grow c'thun linearly so yeah, i have to conclude that void terror is overall the most extreme "snowball" or "butterfly" effect in hearthstone. aside from turn 1 tunnel trogg into turn 2 totem golem, of course.
Thaumius He has hours worth of control warrior game plays. If you don't find Reno games fun, check his vod on twitch. That's what I've been doing when I saw lifetime load of a Reno priest. 5 hrs long vid everyday, you can watch them anytime.
also, control warrior isn't very good. Possibly you could explain to me a deck that has good win ratings? in general they just seem worse than other decks.
If there are nine unique minions that the resurrect can pull out, the first minion has a 1/9 chance to be dirty rat, assuming that the first minion is not dirty rat, the next minion has a 1/8 chance to be dirty rat. Assuming that these both are not dirty rat, the third and final minion has a 1/7 chance of being dirty rat, because a minion cannot be pulled out twice with the resurrect unless a minion has died twice. Therefore, 1/9 + 1/8 + 1/7= 37.9% I believe his calculation did not take into affect the minion that cannot be pulled out again.
Ethan Crauwels The calculation I used was 8/9*7/8*6/7 to NOT get a specific minion - which is 66% so on the other hand the chance to get one was 33%. Copy and pasta from his own reply
I tend to save ooze against mage. They have what 3-4 aoe's that eat it up + it can make dirty rat fizzle. Also in the value fiesta that is reno mirror you might as well keep it, 3/2 is piss
Jens I hope your being payed alot cause that editing has greatly improved.
Chu E. I agree, Jens is going ham lately and it's very refreshing
I think he has more time, since he no longer has to 'manually' deck track.
In my opinion it's cringe and unnecessary
I thought that random audience added in there was hilarious
I think Firebat's video influence Jens a lot. There's a lot of similarity i can feel from it.
you guys should try Firebat's vid too, his editor is also great!
3:20 was fucking glorious cuddos Jens
Trumps editor just wins at 3:20 looooool
THE FUCKING EDIT AT 19:08 MADE MY SIDES HURT
Bahahahaha 3:20 and trump doesnt even flinch dude
3:20 And the crowd goes mild
17:03 it's actually 37.89% to summon each minion because each minion has 1/9+1/8+1/7 = 0.3789.
The calculation I used was 8/9*7/8*6/7 to NOT get a specific minion - which is 66% so on the other hand the chance to get one was 33%.

Nerd
I know I'm bad at probability math, so I just never even try nor do I believe what anyone on the internet says about it, including you :>
P= fav cases/ posible cases
After my math is it actually 33.24%
I used to just listen to these videos in the background but since Jens has stepped up his editing game a whole lot I love watching them. Good job jens!
3:20 i laughed so hard i couldnt stop
Are you still laughing now? If not, you committed a sin.
The editing quality has absolutely sky rocketed in the past couple videos, I've seen. Amazing job Jens!
Lookin' good Trump, MASTERFULLY edited Jens. You two are great!
Yeah, and sometimes Dirty Rat pulls out an Arcane Giant.
Feelsratman
Jens, your editing just keeps getting better and better
Praise Jens
Anduin Music - Stormwind Harbor Music (by Neal Acree, ft. @JulieElvenMusic) - Legion Music
for anyone asking about ending music!
i already miss 1 hour videos lol
The editing of Trumps face onto Antonidas got me good.
Good stuff on these adventure-like tip boxes, Trump. Amazing work. Keep it up!
jn is da MVP.
Oh shit, it's really cool to see you here in a Trump video. Your VS series are the raddest.
This editing tastes SO GOOD! I can't stop smiling =D
I love the seamless blend of the edits
AstroDinger hey tommy
Jens your editing is godly my friend
May he cleanse our opponents' hands with his filth, amen.
I just realized second-rate bruiser is saying "I'm not ready", I always heard "I'm not red"
... which didn't make sense because he is red
3:20 Trump, you seem to make me laugh every time you make them edits.. hahaha
That editing was gold
I actually need a list of the music they use in the end.
I feel like that guy was sniping. Said oops right after playing 3 minions and didn't kill bran when trump had no minions in hand. Noone in their right mind lets bran live.
I love to see Trump getting rekt. To see his smug face turn into a mask of sadness and despair. Pride comes before the fall.
Trump or editing is awesome has me laughing constantly looooooool
That stadium crowd LOL
This video editing is the best!
3:20 was golden
whats the music at the end of this video? I noticed it in the other recent vids too.
You BURNED DOWN THE BANANA STAND?
jerodast *THERES ALWAYS MONEY IN THE BANANA STAND*
when you do edit, it's almost always hilarious xD
Jaraxxus when he dies yells a LOT.
your editing is awesome! :D keep it up
3:28 how tf didnt trump react to that!
Just beautiful
Excuse me Sir, do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Savior dirty rat?
Wooow this Kolento guy is preeety good
When i first heard Dirty Rat's quotes i thought he said (when you play it):" I ain't fucking,,
Can we get more 1 hour episodes?
who edited this video i love it!
For the people who disliked the video can you tell me why? Im just curious.
I'm curious also. But I don't think they will leave their comments. You know what would happen if they have done that.
Why is there no faceless conjurer in this deck? It seems like burgly bully would be dropped for it and you'd have much better value and synergy with bran/manic soulcaster.
I like that little tectbox with hints, however the the percentage you came up with is slightly wrong.
if 9 unique minions died the chance is 1/9 + 1/8 + 1/7 which equates to 37.8%
Nahh HAH! 19:09 sooo goood. High five editor!
The Duke Jens*
I love Trump's vid editing :))))))
No more Reno, man! :(
I don't have luck. What can I swap for it?
A better-balanced game.
Ravarath it's tough, your soul can be a good substitute in most cases but given the current state of ladder, it's probably too slow or just not good enough. You could give it give it a shot for science though
Which software is using for list of card overlay? I use Innkeeper, but kind of suck
his third deck? what are his first two?
Could someone tell me the name of the outro music? Please ^^
Dat boy jens doing the lords work
Why the sudden reluctance to put the deck archetype in the video title?
For the shorter videos or the ones where he plays multiple decks, Jens tends to go with titles that highlight a common theme among the games
Jens needs a fat raise xD
Why faceless summoner over sylvanas?
Someone knows the song name at the end ?
More civ iv!
I like seeing Trump getting punished when he's too greedy. We all know doomsayer against a warlock turn 4 is a game changer.
The statistic at 17:05 is incorrect
it's actually correct :)
What is his outro?
Music from end o:?
I'm pretty sure that with 9 minions dead, the chance of resurrecting any one when resurrecting 3 of them is actually around 38%... Not 33%... I might be wrong though.

I was thinking of playing dragon priest because it is good vs agro but then I thought the deck might not be good enough. Can anyone who has experience with dragon priest tell me whether it is worth to craft a dragon priest deck for a f2p account?
TheCheeser i didn't knew you could get hearthstone in steam
A normal casual guy stream* :p
you can ad non steam games to steam library^^
I think dragon priest is a great deck, last season it got me to rank 4 for first time, and i think i could go to lower ranks if i had more time to play.. dont run Dragon fire potion thats is my only advice.. with all the dragon decks on ladder the card is pretty bad..
Octavio Nuñez thx for the tip :D
I think I will craft the deck
Why the addition of Burgly Bully?
synergy with antonidas
he said something about it in the previous video. i think it has better stat distribution than ethereal conjurer (against aggro decks) and it may delay the spells from control decks and with antonidas the coins are really good in both matchups. at least that's what i understood :)
Good montage ahahah, rly great work :D
what deck tracker is this
i've played vs someone who used your reno mage deck, i crushed him with my jade druid which is 100% budget 1600 dust no adventures no legendaries nor epics :P he dirty ratted my gadgetzan auctioneer in lvl 2 when i had 4 mana because of wild growth so i just cycled 5 cards and won with 16/16 golem at the end
Trump you should do all taunt deck as a "wall" because of your name.
Richard Daugherty He did a Bolster Warrior deck a few times. Have a look on his channel.
didn't he say he'd cut dirty rat combo last video because ice block could single handedly stop combo decks?
The videos aren't necessarily chronological ;D
If you look at the decklist, you'll notice it is the old one. So, this was played before the previous video, but uploaded later. Logic, right?
Sinpathy That's just older video
we are ready for my sum...oops wrong channel
FeelsGoodMan
That little stat blurb that states trump had a 33% chance to bring back doomsayer with each resurrect is very incorrect
I was thinking the same thing and your reasoning is correct but how do you then comeup with 20 percent?
1/9 + 1/8 + 1/7 is roughly 38 %
big up to ma boi Jens for the MLG scene

It's actually a 37.9% chance that you will get a specific minion, not 33.3%...
check your math again :)
Therefore, 1/9 + 1/8 + 1/7= 37.9% I believe his calculation did not take into affect the minion that cannot be pulled out again.
effect
Ethan Crauwels The calculation I used was 8/9*7/8*6/7 to NOT get a specific minion - which is 66% so on the other hand the chance to get one was 33%.
Copy and pasta from his own reply
Max Dahlin Murphy I see... I think I should stick to calculus and not probability. Thanks for the explanation.

no mukla :(
you should have mulliganned the doomsayer away ;) because its also bad when you resurrect
Why is nobody playing Medivh? Makes Reno mage much better.
only 3 spells above 4 cost, which are also all reactionary, might as well play ronan
You think someone is holding ooze against a mage?
I tend to save ooze against mage. They have what 3-4 aoe's that eat it up + it can make dirty rat fizzle. Also in the value fiesta that is reno mirror you might as well keep it, 3/2 is piss
In my games maybe every 20th enemy remove the atiesh. Most of the other players bring ooze on the board for tempo.
so do i if i feel the tempo is needed. very rarely the case in a reno mirror. and i must clarify, dirty rat is the bigger factor
