How does Chris only have 35,000 subscribers? This is one of the best Overland series. Great stories, personal interest, amazing locations and his editing skills are 2nd to none. He should see if PBS would sponsor a show with his adventures!
Chris as usual you’ve done an amazing job putting this weeks adventure together... You’re going to have so many great memories to recall with fondness in years to come... Thank you for continuing to bring us along on your adventures.
Thank you for putting in the incredible amount of effort and time it takes to both setup and shoot these videos along with the impeccable editing. Really outstanding job young man.
It's really rare that I'll watch even half of a 30 minute video. But I always watch yours front to back. Very well done. I've done a bit of that camera chasing/forwarding that you do and it's a lot of work. You put a lot of effort into these and it shows. And no Patraeon (sp) begging....that's just icing on the cake. Thanks for taking us along! I greatly enjoy your efforts!
Agreed! All those long shots of his Jeep going up the hill he has to do and the viewr doesn't appreciate. I would like to see his planning factors for time getting from point A to B..
So cool to hear It Makes No Difference by The Band playing in the restaurant at 3:31. Seeing as how Rick Danko was from Ontario, I’m sure Canada is proud of him.
As is the case with every week - simply outstanding. The hours of effort you put into each episode shows in 30 minutes or so that we are fortunate and privileged to enjoy watching. Thank you for bringing us along.
Yes … glad that NFLD became part of Canada in 1949. Just after WW1, the Canadian government was anticipating NFLD coming on board. The Turks & Caicos have lobbied the Canadian government several times to become part of Canada too; unlikely to happen though.
As someone who is originally from Nfld and now living in NS I love watching your videos. I have travelled in many of the same places. brings back great memories and smiles.🚒
Chris Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your videos. As a couple my wife and I take our camper and Jeep and go to places like the ones you are visiting. Of course we can’t disperse camp into the tight places you get, but we get away as far as we can to find pure natural locales and the sound of the earth without the noise of people and their trapping of civilization. We look forward to your videos each week. Especially appreciated are several things. 1) Limited talk and the real sounds of off-roading. 2) No music (that many videographers mistakenly think enhances their work) 3) Good camera work without shakiness (the bane of modern movies) 4) A photographer’s eye - your choice of spots shows your compositional skills. Flowers to majestic sunsets. 5) Your obvious love for the outdoors and appreciation for people. Nice guys can do well in this world. Keep up the good work. I wouldn't worry about your paint job is just written in memory on your vehicle. I had a good friend go to Canada for moose hunting and he had a full-size truck with a camper he also came home with plenty of scratches due to narrow trails. Thanks for the great adventure because of my disability I would never be able to see this stuff otherwise. Exploring is so great and did much of it as a Boy Scout and with my grandparents who had an RV.
Chris, I've watched your adventure from the beginning. Your production abilities have evolved and your videos are outstanding. I, like others, have noticed how hard you work, setting up so you can capture those drive-ups and drive-aways, and your hikes. I've enjoyed riding and hiking along with you!
Your videos are so relaxing to watch. Today so many videos have to much music which is just noise pollution. Thanks for the natural sounds. I find it makes them so much more enjoyable to watch.
Twllingate is by far one of my favourite places in newfoundlad !! Along with every other place in newfoundlad , I just love exploring the province in general 😌😌 could spend months there !!!! Been loving your videos!!! I love how peaceful they are !!! It's refreshing watching videos without music playing over every clip, I like just hearing the nature sounds!!!😊 Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!!
Today I heard the term Schoolee for the first time from a neighbor, and now I hear Chris use the term. Then he plays with a dog named Crosby, and our new Pastor has a dog named Crosby. Who know. Glad to hear the auxiliary fuel tank is working. Safe travels Chris and God Bless!
Oh … lucky you! Timed it just right to find the 2 weeks of good weather in Newfoundland. ;-) Twillingate, Gros Morne & King's Point were the highlights when I was there, back in 2015. At King's Point, I was fortunate to see an ice berg that came right down to the fishing village. I woke up with a view of it from my RV. I also took my kayak for a spin, from a beach at Twillingate - that was fun. Cheers, Steve
as always. great stuff... you may not realize it, but your channel is inspirational.. it lets people know adventure is just around the corner.. without spending thousands and thousands or travelling to distant lands.
You just keep heading east towards the end of the province, you'll probably still see some ice. St. Anthony, Newfoundland usually has some hanging out lol. I lived there a few months.
@@wswerv1 St. Anthony is at the northeast end of the province. I have previously seen icebergs there in the late summer. But considering the climate change issue, there may not be any. Don't know till you go look.
Hello chris, wat a awsome island New Foundland is.... thanks for charing this epic trip so far, greetings and have a nice weekend, greetings from Holland Europe.
Thanks again Chris. Always a great video. I think I'd like to get a rig like yours and do what you're doing someday. Be safe out there and we'll see you next week.
Stumbled across your video. Glade you enjoyed my home town of Twillingate. Grew up in that lighthouse .My Dad was the light keeper. Most of the back roads you travel are only used by moose hunters now . ,👍
Hey that's me in the distance at10:13! I remember someone filming a hiking video and never thought I'd find the video, let alone a clip where I'm in it!
It would be really fun sometime if you would log how many extra steps you take in order to capture coming/going footage - I bet it would be a surprising amount. Great videos.
When I see this & last week's video, I have to say Lucky bugger on your visit to my home province. I drove across the Island in 2001 and would do it again tomorrow. Don't forget to go to the top of Signal Hill and take the trail around the hill. You won't regret it.
If you go again, you can take the Burgeo road that leads to a road just off the highway that will take you through the middle of the province and into Buchan's over unmanaged roads and along Red Indian Lake. Buchan's is about 30 mins from Badger :)
I used to spray the exterior of my desert combat boots with water repellent spray. It actually did a good job of keeping mud off. Obviously they had to be sprayed every 6 months.
Absolutely awesome! I hope you appreciate your production crew that has to run up and back to set up the awesome shots you get!!! Give them an "ata boy" for me. (kidding)
Hey Chris, love following your adventures and awesome to see you are in our part of the Maritimes. On your return from Newfoundland if you need a place to catch up on Internet , shower and warm meal we would love to host you. We are in Dartmouth just across bridge from Halifax and our home is your home should you need to freshen up :) Keep up the adventure . Peter
Always enjoy ur vids Chris. How bot u show us some more cookn on that skottle? Im planning on getn one so id like to c u throw down another meal or two! Safe travels bud.
Awesome, Chris. You think you can make it all the way North to Nunnavit? Or maybe you'll have none of that? But you gotta make it to the Canadian Shield. That'll be an adventure.
Hi Jack … fairly certain you can't drive into Nunavut. Sea and air would be the only methods. Chris would've already been through part of the Canadian Shield when he was near Cornerbrook. NFLD. You can drive up to the Arctic Ocean via the Northwest Territories but that would need to be a future endeavour for Chris (he's in the wrong part of the country, at the moment).
After binging every "episode" in 3 days its strange waiting for 3 days to see this. My wife has looked over at me more than twice this week while i stare at nothing and said "your head is in the mountains isn't it?" Its probably a good thing that your "episodes" only come out once per week considering I start back nursing school Monday. The mountains are calling and I must go-John Muir

Your 9 mile trail, probably was about 11 or 12 miles due to all your back and forth camera shoots. That's a LOT of work. Thanks for a beautiful video!
Exactly MY thoughts! That's some hard-earned video footage.

You just keep heading east towards the end of the province, you'll probably still see some ice. St. Anthony, Newfoundland usually has some hanging out lol. I lived there a few months.
Juanita Sullivan St. Anthony is north of Gros Morne, so heading farther east won’t work. Icebergs are pretty much done by end of August.
