    I don't understand where the white blood cells come from in the spleen are they produced in the spleen or do they circulate and settle in the PALS and just hang out there until needed?

      Too bad this is 2 years late! But for anyone wondering the same, the spleen is a secondary lymphoid organ. This means white blood cells are not created here. They're created in the Thymus (T-Cells) and Bone marrow (B-Cells) and they will migrate to secondary lymphoid organs like the Spleen, lymph nodes, Peyer's patches (MALTS) or Tonsils, etc.
