    I’ve worked for a private practice pediatrician for over 39 years. In all that time, we only saw one boy with this In the office. Mom brought his diaper. I will never forget the look of the stool, and the foul odor. Happy to say he recovered completely ☺️

    My husband and I are currently in the hospital for my 10 month old daughter. The air blowing method didn’t work 3 times.. she’s currently in the OR getting a laparoscopic surgery with 3 small incisions to get the intestine to fold back out.. thank you for better helping me understand. I know she is in good hands but she’s just so small.. as parents we’re supposed to protect our children but I can’t help but feel like a bad parent. She’s been poked, prodded, and cut all day long and I can’t do anything but sit back and watch, and pretend to say it’s okay baby I know what you feel like, or it’s going to get better.. reality is, even after surgery.. there’s a larger chance of it coming back.
    The night before she was eating fine, peed and pooped.. slept beautifully through the night. The next morning she threw up at least 30+ times.. my mother in law said it’s just a bug ittle pass… but I couldn’t just watch my daughter throw up all day and not worry about dehydration or just being sick in general. Always trust your MOMMA INSTINCTS. ❤️❤️❤️

    My 7 month old has just been discharged from hospital after having intussusception disease. It was horrible to watch my baby go through this. He had 2 contrast air enemas which were unsuccessful. He then had to have keyhole surgery to rectify the bowels. Even as a NICU nursery nurse I found the whole situation scary and upsetting as he declined so fast. Witnessing the surgeons perform contract air procedure has left me not in a good place. Thank god the surgery was successful but I still feel shaken up. This video help me to understand what was happening as I didn't take in much at the time because everything was happening so fast. So I would like to say thank you.

    My son has this at the minute. Brought on by him currently having a viral infection.
    Air enema done yesterday. They seemed confident the bowel had resolved itself. Still no sign of any normal stool today. Some mucus and blood coming through in the nappy. How long until things resolve? Or how long until the doctors check again with ultrasound? His stomach is still very distended but the doctor says that will be air from the enema. It's now 12 hours since the procedure

      @@PaintedRed Yes,
      they diagnosed him, kept him the hospital for over 5 days with no food or water to wait on the surgeon to decide wether or not he wanted to do the surgery to reverse it. By day 6, he had to decided no and released him and said to “take pepcid everyday and it will reverse itself” been six months and he is still in daily pain, wakes up throwing up every other week, but is managing it. We haven’t been able to find another doctor due to the hospital bills and healthcare plan that won’t cover “specialty doctors”.
      So, if you ever do experience this as an adult (tho extremely rare) please push for a surgery because my boyfriend has been in agonizing pain for months , when it would’ve taken 6 weeks to heal.

      I had this in my late 20s. It was caused by a massive polyp in the small intestine. Afterward, they searched and found more polyps and diagnosed me with a very rare genetic disorders called Peutz Jeghers. It is common for Peutz Jeghers patients to get intussusception.

    • @theseanthe93
      @theseanthe93 4 місяці тому

      @Lakshmi-bk7bd They surgically removed a small portion of my small intestine (98 cm, I believe) for the intussusception. Now, they remove the polyps with regular endoscopes and colonoscopies to prevent future intussusceptions or cancer. They have me swallow a camera once in a while to see the far reaches of the small intestine and if they ever find one getting large then they'd remove it with a ballon scope (though I haven't had one of those yet).
      Not fully removed, you can't live without a small intestine.
