I think patience is what turns a Ports player into a deadly machine. The mortars in fire mode walking slowly, the battle of goons inch by inch, the construction of towers with every yard conquered. While it looks boring it’s beautiful to see an army win that way.

I guess in the end yellow shot him self in the foot by attacking orange, which actually gave time for red to focus on the south front, and make the comeback, it was clear that red couldnt deal with 2 side fights... So yeah...
Anyway I really loved it, and you dont have to ask man, I will watch it all the way to the end no doubt about that.

I think the mistake was pink's for attacking timinator. He should've regrouped while yellow double teamed orange. And then both with pink took timinator out. But this is hindsight talk, I enjoyed it either way.

This was the first game i tried using bandeirantes and it worked really well. I used tons of snipes against the elephants at critical moments.

As an old player that was never online could you do a video or a video for each strat? Such as what the hell is fast fortress and the other ones maybe just a vernacular video? That would really help right now I'm a brit player trying to get my city to lvl 100 so I can start and try new civs at 100 so I can get all the cards I need! Love your videos makes me want to play pro

Great game! Feels bad for purple though, he basically held a 2v1 and got contained the entire game while other players did Fast Industrials without resource crates. Yellow and Pink attacked him together from both sides multiples times xD

There is an option if you go to the game settings. I can't recall the name of it but it's a check box somewhere in there.

What are the most powerful civs for ffa's on maps without water? It looks like Ports.

Oooof purple was AMAZING here.. the guy held 2v1 for long time with good micro.. so sad seeing him out of eco and dying. It's clear from this why you blocked some cards from Ports, they just unfair lol.

counter point, watching higher level players defending 2v1s is the highlight of FFA matches, and its the only reason lower-level players have any incentive to join in the first place

At 45:50 you say that Age 5 Russian musks are 'technically Age 4 musks'. This is not exactly true, as Russian musks are only 20% weaker in hp and attack (as opposed to 50%). In addition, if they are trained from a fortress, they do not get the 20% penalty

Why do Russian players have an almost refusal to play cav? Unless it's Opri cav box.

@@7thDylan I didn't see him, he hit so fast and was already prepared to come in with cav. I also don't think yellow had his Jan military building card till he attacked me, so as soon as he had my forward TC down, he could build within my base. It was a well timed attack by him, really caught me off guard.

@@7thDylan I did stockpile a lot of food before the fight with red, but what couldn't be seen was how much I spent defending against red. You also couldn't see because there was no chat, was me begging pink to attack red to take off the pressure so I could recuperate. Which I was, but then yellow attacked. :( I would normally kill my own army too to make one quicker back at home, but didn't have the res to do it. Like I said, yellow well timed his attack, not only did I not see it, but I was not prepared for it.
I wanted pink to win, because pink elephants are cute. :) I'm a simple man.

Also, what beats that Portugal combo? Has anything ever done beaten it?
It's actually not super hard to beat, lots of combos will beat it out. Heavy cavalry and cannons, skirmishes and cannons. Skirmishes and heavy cannons.
The problem is that Portugal is very flexible, and all their lategame units are well above average, except the hussar. They can adapt to anything you throw at them.
I didn't field all that much artillery (other than mortars) because people were mostly using heavy inf/heavy cav/light can so organ guns weren't necessary
the best way to beat them is by pushing them early, hard and fast. in late game, you just need to find a way to trade efficiently till they're out of resources. I'd like to see an aztec player with arrow knights and eagle runner knights go toe to toe with ports. or maybe Spain with skirms + goons and unction. Indian gurkhas would be amazing too, too bad dansil didn't get a chance to make em
@@squamiger7720 Yeah aside from rushing early but you can't hope for that every game because they could be on the other side of the map, leaving you exposed. I'd love to see Aztec in FFA that'd be awesome.
I find the lack of information about AoE3 DE disturbing. The first closed beta invites are announced for early february.... and when I have a look at my calendar, we have early february. And there is still no in game footage of AoE3 DE anywhere. I don't think, this is a good sign.
