Electrolysis is boring you just hook up 1.5-10 amp DC non regulated power supply and put the negative on the item that is being cleaned and positive on some metal plates lining a tub filled with water and a cup of Arm and Hammer Super soda (not baking soda sodium bicarbonate, but Sodium carbonate) per 5 gallons of water and turn it on. Now wait and wait until you are satisfied with the result. Make sure your item does not touch the positive plates. You can use other things to add to the water like salt but they create deadly fumes where Sodium Carbonate produces Hydrogen gas. In a well ventilated outdoor space it will just float into the air. thats it. I used a old computer power supply for a 100 year old Krone Kast cast iron pan I got for free was made in Germany around 1906-1923. Very very rare. The guy at the year sale was going to scrap it and pulled it out of the scrap pile and gave it to me. Also go light on the Sodium Carbonate more makes it not work as good there is a happy medium in there somewhere.
@@spagsketti It's not actually the electrolysis we want to see, it's what the articles look like *after* the electrolysis. But thanks Professor, for the *boring* (your word) detailed explanation of how it works
Hey Bondi, two things today. When your cross has Jesus attached to it, it’s called a crucifix. And two, not all of us are on Instagram, so would love to see some pics of your items after electrolysis, like your keys and your sword. Maybe you could do a separate video, showing your cleaned up finds, or just tack some pics up on your next video. Love your hunts. Keep safe. Regards from Sunbury, Victoria.
That plate is a printing press plate that traveling salesman would carry around with them to put in news papers to sell product ifnu clean it up u should see a pic on there of what it is I found one metal detecting that was around a 120 years old
You are amazing.. love watching your adventures "Cleanup with stile and smile" what a better education for everyone on our Beautiful Planet.. Thank you kindly from my heart.. Stay cool and Enjoy 💕👀👍💕
I'm so happy for you guys and your fantastic finds. Watch, rings, the sword and one of my favorites lead toys (how did you spot them, they are so little). Can't wait for the continuing video. Thanks for bringing us along!!! 🌼🦋🇺🇸
Yay!! Nicky has earrings!! I love the cross, if you want me to have it!! That would be cool!! Lee has a sword!! This is an awesome place!! Be Safe ❤️🙏😎
Great finds seriously tho soak them in Evapo-rust first for 24hrs and you will be amazed at how they come out almost rust free. and it’s safe to use especially on the dagger the sheath will just slip off the blade. Evapo-rust will change your life with your finds without damaging them 👍🏼🇬🇬
I love watching you two treasure hunting on the rafts in the river! I hope you do it some more. Why are all those crystals in the river? Please let us know if the watch is real.
from the moment your air mattress hit the water you were a bit unsure of the currant. it was hard to grab things it pulled you along so quickly !! in no time you went from novice to experienced river treasure hunter, very impressive !!! amazing treasures..that sword could be of some historical signifigance. one of the huge differences from where you magnet fish the canals is the absolute clarity of the river, quite the contrast to the mud and muck you are used to. amazing adventure all the way around. you were most definately in your element !!! 😎🤙
Hi there Leigh his Girl and whoever joins you on your adventures, thank you so much your enthusiasm is so uplifting, something for an old Duck to look forward to . Blessings to you all from NZ

Oh my gosh amazing finds can't wait to see the sword when it cleaned up I am going to miss these videos hope you get to go back and do them again some time 😊
Great finds Leigh. Its unbelievable the clarity of the water there. A tad different to that of the canals😂😂😂 Loved the dagger & the watch. Did you manage to find out how old the dagger was & if the watch was real? Fingers 🤞🏻🤞🏻 that it was. Well done on finding the matchers of the earrings especially the small pair. Stay safe & magnets away. Best wishes from Ireland 🥰🇮🇪🍀
Wow some fabulous finds, I love the old keys. The big key you held up is just like the one we had when we lived in an old rented farmhouse in the early 60's in Wales, even as a small child I was fascinated by it.
Everything you found was pretty cool actually, and you've cleaned the river some too. Most of all it looks like you had fun. That metal thing was maybe a trivet, but idk for sure. See you next time guys. 👍
@@DjPsYcOtIc I don't know, man; granted, a watch in this price range should be water tight. But then again, that collection has been around since 1972. Hi Dudes! I think I know part of the story about those colorful stones you found! I recall a film from some years ago and there was this strange woman who collected rocks like those from her travels. Each one held a special story for her. And then sometime later in her life, she said she was going to drop them into the water someplace as a gift back to the Earth for her adventures. Maybe those are her stones? Dunno. Great videos you guys make. Very enjoyable.
Pretty sure what you are calling a "shotgun" is a Winchester or Henry type repeating rifle. It can probably be restored to a nice NON-FIRING display piece.
Hi Leigh, I hope you show the rejuvenated finds. I'm not on Instagram. Do you have to walk back? I suppose the weather will chill the water soonish, so what's the plan when it's too cold for water adventures? Ah questions questions!!!!!!🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓. See ya next week. If the watch is a royal oak and it’s real it’s a very expensive find. Take it to a jeweler
