  • I had a perfectly round piece of 24mm birch plywood offcut that could be put to good use. Since its pretty expensive plywood and high quality I didn't want to waste it so I cleaned it up and put a few coats of varnish on it and it works perfectly as a little sofa tray/giant coaster. Since its so thick and heavy it doesn't move or get bumped around much when people are sitting next to it so it seems perfectly safe to put drinks on it.
This is hardly a project video since it's so simple. But I thought I'd try making a relaxing ASMR style video for it.

      Haha sure why not?
      Step 1. Find a circle
Step 2. Put the circle on your couch

@@TheOffcut Some steps are missing. That circle need protection like lacquer... ;)

Rob Trautvetter - Takami Woodshop You could cut a pizza slice-shaped recess in the wood for holding a nice piece of that cheesey goodness

nice! whats the weight? you could add some weigths to it by hollowing parts out of the bottom maybe. a heavier tray stays safer on the sofa, i found

Its pretty heavy already. Its 24mm birch plywood so its pretty solid. Doesn't move around much which is good.

It was cut on a CNC from someone else's project.

I don’t know my self. I was waiting same kind of inlay or routing shape of your jag or cup bottom etc , but it just circle. Which is good if you beginner. C’mon man ! ;)

Haha I just wanted this to be a quick and easy project. I didn't want to spend too much time on it. And thought I'd play around doing a different style of video.
