As an ex restaurant manager in Sevierville and Pigeon Forge I despise the online reservations, there’s no way to adjust wait times when situations arise, for example it’s busy it’s longer for the food to come out of the kitchen or you may have a large party that’s just hanging out and so on, and being short staffed impacts that a lot
I understand those factors, but people actually plan where they're going to eat based on that. Especially when they get into town late, like we did. The fact that there was no wait time directly influenced our decision to go over there. Plus, being told by the host, that the manager is making them tell people that.
Dealing with staff now anywhere, especially restaurants is becoming horrendous. It’s hit or miss. So sorry y’all had this happen. I think I would have walked out and went down the street somewhere else.
Cheddar's is now part of the Darden Restaurant Group(Olive Garden and Longhorn Steakhouse.) Before they were bought out their prices were about 20% cheaper than Applebee's and Chili's prices.
Yes, I knew they were part of the Darden family of restaurants. We never go to Olive Garden, but we do love Longhorn. They have gone up in price some, but for the Pigeon Forge area, they're still a pretty good option. That steak was well worth the money that I paid for it.
Cheddars in Ocala. FL is great. During the pandemic, they had a limited menu and took my favorite thing off the menu. They brought it back. Key West Chicken and Shrimp. Try it-it is wonderful! My favorite sides are carrots and broccoli cheese casserole. Love the croissants too. If you sign up online, you get a free dessert of your choice for your birthday. I usually go to restaurants for lunch and get there when they open. So never any problem being seated.

Never been to Cheddars but like so many restaurants service is going down in many chains. I love A1 sauce on my steak! I know people criticize that. But I love it 😋
You enjoy your steak however you want to eat it. You paid for it, so nobody else gets to tell you how to enjoy it. The criticisms I get over a bottle of steak sauce, are some of the most childish, petty, and laughable ridiculous comments that we ever get, and it is hard to believe that grown adults actually get so upset about how a complete stranger eats their steak. 😂😂😂😂 I have made it a point to show the A-1 in every video where I use it, as long as people like that keep getting triggered by it, and feel compelled to say something. Honestly, if people get that upset over a bottle of steak sauce, then they have far bigger mental issues than you or I have for using it. So, keep eating that A-1 and don't let the nuts bother you. Those people are mentally disturbed, and just plain weird.
We have never eaten at a Cheddar 's. There is one in Delaware but its about an hour away. Wasn't familiar with that one,looks like the food is good but service needs improved (from the top management). Sadly we have encountered some rude staff even locally. We were raised to always say please and thank you.Sadly this is not used much by the younger crowd...sometimes with older folks too. Regardless, you want to feel wecomed at an establishment you have chosen to dine at. Glad you ended up enjoying your meal. We are arriving next weekend so hope its cool and a little colorful too. This was the only unfortunate experience we've ever had at one. We've even been at this location several times before, without any issues. This was the first, and hopefully the only time.
This will be the "most convenient" Cheddar's for me the next time I'm in PF. Otherwise, it's a 3 1/2 hour ride to the one in Roanoke. Not surprised at the manager being that way for two reasons. First, rude employees are promoted to be rude supervisors. Then, rude supervisors are promoted to become rude managers. That's what happens when your hiring base is dominated by rude people. Second, I'm long since used to being lied to online. Between an honest breakdown in information to outright dishonesty, I'm accustomed to it. In fact, I'm pleasantly surprised by honesty in business online. That steak looked great! Next time I go to PF, I think I may spend three or four nights there. I managed a steakhouse for years and I'd put money on that her pasta sat in the "window" (essentially a counter with heat lamps) while the steak was cooking, the pasta looked dry. They should've plated the steak first..it can sit in the window longer since it should rest anyway. Back to the pasta, Yes most places will pre-cook that grilled chicken for the pasta and hold it in a steam pan..but I've found that unless your restaurant is packed say on a Friday or Saturday night, its best to cook it to order fresh, same for the shrimp. Love your videos no sugar coatin and real. I would like to see more of the first bite reactions though lol
Yes, she said the pasta was more moist once she stirred it up. I guess it was all in the bottom. That is usually her favorite dish there, but the chicken just was not up to par. I'm sure you are correct and what you said, having been in the industry.

Bon and I have met a couple of guys in NY who do the same thing but they do stuff dealing with farming. After camp meeting we're off again to upstate NY to help his daughter move to Nebraska to live with his other daughter. While we're in NY he wants to meet another youtube farmer. This is very interesting to me. I love it!

He definitely gave yall the side eye . Glad he matured up at after that and was polite. Qe had a Cheddars just a few doors down from Longhorn Steakhouse on Hanes Mall Blvd for a few years but they eventually closed. We usually go to the one on University blvd in Charlotte. I usually get the full rack of ribs when we go.
We have a Cheddars in Fayetteville where we live and it has never been one of the greatest places. When they first opened they were alright, that was years ago. I like their food but they have removed some of the things I liked from their menu. The wait seems like it is always long. We went once and sat there for 30 to 45 minutes waiting to just order our drinks. At that point I was hangry. I also have Type 1 diabetes and my blood sugar was dropping so that didn’t help. The table behind us was getting served and I was done. It was a weeknight and after 7 so I didn’t understand why we were not getting served. A couple people did check on us but no one could find out server. We got up and asked to see the manager and he gave us a gift certificate. We did go back to use it and almost had a problem then but luckily the same manager was on duty so we were able to use it. The people who work there seem to be nice but I would not recommend that Cheddars to anyone. Maybe different locations are different but my experience at our local one has kind of made up my mind about the whole chain.
We have not been to Fayetteville, since our son was in a baseball tournament in Dunn. That was fourteen years ago. I used to really like their mushroom and swiss burger, and also their Philly cheesesteak. If I'm not mistaken, those are gone from the menu. I'm not for sure about the Philly cheesesteak, but I don't remember seeing it. I know they took off the mushroom burger.
We were there about 10 years ago, and that was probably the other worst experience we have had with a manager. Her name was Becky. We were not doing UA-cam then, however. I also have heard that manager's no longer there, and we would be willing to give it another try. But they are very, very expensive.

I think proprietors might lie and say that there's a wait time to make patrons think the restaurant is really popular. Kinda reverse psychology or something. I suspect that because you always see open tables. Of course there are plenty of disgruntled employees that are often no shows, who do not call before playing hooky, lol. 😂 That might make a low server count which might create a wait time.
Yes, I'm sure there are many factors. It's just odd that their website would say one thing, and then when you get there based on what the website says, they tell you another. We decided to ultimately go there, because there was no wait time, and it was already late. Later than we usually eat.

The problem is, vacationers rely on that information to plan their meals...especially this late at night. If it isn't accurate, then they don't need to have it online at all. He didn't curse at us...He simply was very rude and had a really unprofessional attitude. He knew it. That is why he settled down.

In the 15 minutes it took us to get there a party came at some point. I'm only saying a computer can't tell something's. I love both of your reviews Still sad you don't love onions lol
I wouldn't want you to avoid all of the locations, because of our experience here. This was strictly an issue with this particular manager. Other people have said this location doesn't have good management, but most others do. I would not forsake all Cheddar's locations. They still have good food and we've always had good experiences at other Cheddar's locations.
We're riding up to the National Park this morning, and then we'll be at Dollywood for the rest of this afternoon. We're pretty free tomorrow. Probably doing some things in and around Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Let us know if you come over to town.

The Woodshed in Newport has AMAZING steaks for very reasonable prices.

Other people have said this location doesn't have good management, but most others do. I would not forsake all Cheddar's locations. They still have good food and we've always had good experiences at other Cheddar's locations.
