- This video contains miscellaneous clips from our recent visit to Anna Maria Island, just west of Bradenton, on Florida's Gulf Coast.
We visited historic Bridge Street, Bean Point (famous for its views of Tampa Bay and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge), various shops, and witnessed several beautiful sunsets.
Also, we take you grocery shopping with us.
That is a beautiful sun set. Have a blessed week.
Your wife is so beautiful congratulations man !! Lucky Man , and congratulations on the video !
Thank you, and yes she is.
Saturday evening at that publix is an Olympic sport. We always get Pizza that night we get there and I go early on Sunday am. We to to AMI every year. Yes, that publix is very expensive.
I noticed it seemed to charge more than other ones on the mainland. I'm glad it wasn't just me.
I have enjoyed watching this video. You have got me wanting to go to the beach. Maybe next year. In 1955 we lived on Rockaway beach, just across the bay from New York City. We lived one block from the beach and I went there daily. It was in the summer time. When school started I did not get to do that. We lived there for a few months. We came back home and got our Trailer we left in Tennesse at my grandfathers. My father worked in New York City and he knew he would be there for a few years. We parked the trailer in Bayonne NJ. We werre up there for 4 years. I have enjoyed your adventures and your your places were you eat. Have a blessed weekend. One day my mother rode the bus to NYC and went to The price is Right show and they picked her out of the audiance and she got to be a contestant on it a week or so after that. She won son jewelry and I still have it.
Thank you for sharing. I have been to Rockaway Beach, many, many years ago. My stepfather was from Ozone Park, and I remember us going out there one evening.
That is really neat, about your mom being a contestant on The Price Is Right.
My favorite place to go! We grew up in Central Florida but vacationed at Longboat Key in the late 1960s till now! I go to Longboat Key about 3 times a year. If you both go further down on Gulf Dr from The Tortuga Inn about 4 to 5 miles toward St Almands Circle there is a huge Publix at the light on the left. They have everything! Before covid they had a salad bar, olive bar & more. Locals will know about this. FYI. Looks like you had a great time! The West Coast is the best!!
We agree! We usually go to Siesta Key during the summer, but we have visited Anna Maria Island in the Winter a couple of times. We've driven by the Publix you are talking about, but just have never stopped. It's on Longboat Key
We actually drove down to Siesta Key and Sarasota one night, and I thought St. Armands Circle was lit up beautifully for Christmas.
On my bucket list.....
Ours too…Ready to do a vacation there for sure. Did y’all find any shirts?
@@Momtocam1997 I was actually planning to go back to the first store and get a shirt, because they were the most reasonable. I never made it back up there. Have to do it next trip. Plus, I've already got T-shirts from just about everywhere, anyway. I don't really need another one.
Love watching you all
Thanks so much!
@@NCMemoryMakers your so very welcome
Views of the ocean and the music were very enjoyable.
The palm trees do look nice wrapped in lights. The sand and water is beautiful! Making us excited about summer and getting to the beach. Bean Point is beautiful! The water looks so inviting that I'm not thinking it is cold. But I know it is. Great job!
The water temperature that time of year, is normally upper 60s. But because they had just had that cold snap where it was so cold (right after we met up with ya'll), the water temperature there was 63. It went straight to the bone the minute we stepped in it. But it did look warm.
By the time we left Florida, the temperatures were in the low 80s.
Let us know when you decide on where you're going in Florida this year. I think you were looking at the Destin area? Great fishing there.
@@NCMemoryMakers You are kidding me! We are going to go to Destin!!!!! We are going in July. Just booked our place the other day.
@@vafunseekers Yes, David had mentioned the other week, that you were looking up Destin online. I haven't been there since I was 18. I just remember it was great fishing. The water and the sand are nice.
@@vafunseekers I'll be really looking forward to seeing your videos when you go. I'm anxious to see how it's grown since I was there many years ago.
@@NCMemoryMakers It's been about 10 years since we have been there so we are looking forward to seeing how it has changed since then. When are y'all thinking about going?
Great video. Thank you for sharing.... we love Anna Marie Oyster bar, it's our go to restaurant here.
Thank you so much for watching, and for your comment. We have enjoyed both of our experiences there.
I have always wanted to go to Anna Maria...maybe someday. I enjoy tagging along on your travels. I live in WNC too...much farther west than yall
AMI is a beautiful place. You would love it.
Derrick, you seemed to really have an enjoyable time. I'm taking it that most of this video was shot prior to you going down in putt-putt.
Yes, that would be correct. The putt putt was in Orlando, after we left Anna Maria Island.
I like all the talking kind of like we’re there with y’all.
Thank you so much. I appreciate that. It seems like every once in a while, we get a very rude person to show up and make a comment like that.
Thank you for letting us know you enjoy the channel.
We’ve started just doing an online order & pickup at Walmart when we arrive in town. Skip the checkouts
That's a good idea and I'm sure that many prefer to do it that way.
We may be a little weird, but for us, part of the excitement is going to the grocery store once we first check in, and stocking up for the week.
Plus, only Publix carries that brand of orange juice, and it is absolutely the best. We love going to Publix when we are in Florida.
Enjoyed this content very eclectic. I love the Historic bridge area always a place I visit. Visiting my mother later this year ( in her 90;s) in Sarasota first time I have returned to the USA since the pandemic, didn't feel inspired to travel long haul. The Publix was interesting the food is very expensive in the USA compared to the UK, just an observation.. I like Trader Joe and Detwiler's in Sarasota. My family tell me there is new Detwiler's on Clark road.
I've heard of it (Detwiler's) but not sure exactly where it is. We have been to the Trader Joe's in Sarasota a couple of times, however. I really like it. In fact, on our last review of Walt's Fish Market back in July of 2022, we did our close out from the Trader Joe's parking lot.
Hope you have a great visit to Sarasota. Thank you so much for watching, and for commenting.
@@NCMemoryMakers Yes I remember commenting on the Walt's fish market video of last year, best wishes to you both..
@@Mrpegs1 And to you, as well.
I think we have found our new place to go to the beach! Hurricane Ian wiped out our place at Captiva Island. I think it is going to take them a while to get everything back to normal there.
We think you will love it.
I get Publix fried chicken about once a month, it is cheaper than frying it yourself. I have never seen nuts on a key lime pie, that doesn’t even sound good to me. That is one of the things I enjoy about y’alls video, not having to put up with any trashy stuff. I wish all that could be banned.
Publix is the only place I know of, where it is tough to get a key lime pie without nuts. Most stores don't put them on at all.
The Publix stores in Florida are usually good about offering it both ways, but the ones up here think you are strange if you request one without nuts. And yes, their chicken is quite good.
And we are committed to keeping our channel clean. We don't even allow comments to remain, if someone uses an off-color word in it. That's not what we are about. We fully agree with you, about wishing it weren't out there at all.
I miss the old Panama jack shirts
Yes, I remember those. I had one as a teenager.
What time of month did you visit Anna Maria Island that you got sick?
This video was made in December, right after Christmas.
@NCMemoryMakers ok. Thank you. Watching your video now 😀
Are y’all in the Florida Keys?
No, not in the Keys. Anna Maria Island is near Bradenton, just south of Tampa.
Get to it , to much talking
Excuse me??
First, it's "too".
Second, don't tell us what to do on our own channel. Troll somebody else.
