I just found your channel and was delighted to hear that you're a St.FXU music grad!!! My twin cousins are also and always played in a band. Love your channel Brandon

    I don't just use my shoulder, I take the martial arts approach and put my whole body into it. The energy for each stroke comes all the way from my feet up through my calves, upper legs, hips, core, shoulders, arms, and wrist, down to the pic

    • @羅允駿
      @羅允駿 11 місяців тому +1

      Wow! You understand martial arts principles. You, "uniformed" martial arts thinking and musical practice. Great unifying of two seemingly disparate fields. Your commixture of the martial arts and music sets an ecological path of thought.🔄🎸

    • @mattball420
      @mattball420 10 місяців тому

      @@羅允駿 yes, i call it "unified music theory" but unfortunately no guitar string can last more than one song due to the sheer power of each pick stroke. We need an engineering super genius to develope a set of strings that can withstand pick strokes raining down on them with the power of mike tysons right hook for 10 rounds

    Broooo I can already tell you would be an awesome teacher would love to learn from you I been playing about 7 years but stopped playing for like 3 and lost all muscle memory also trying to get faster at these hammer ons or Trills as you called them I’m fast but I’m trying to get to where you can’t see my fingers anymore lol so back to basics and finger work out love the nail clipper part 😂😂😂 I do that all the time. To be blunt I need to get faster and a lil better at reading the fretboard properly although I can’t read music I taught myself guitar by ear and tabs don’t know any chords or how to read music and if I want to get passed this hump I need to learn how to read music it would GREATLY HELP with my improvisation and knowing exactly where to go next.

  • @robohippy
    @robohippy 3 роки тому

    I will be using some of these....
    The alternate picking exercise that you started with is good. My favorite one was from Danny Gatton. He did it at the neck and used a 5 note alternate picking. So with the low E, you start with a down pick and with the A, you start it with an up pick.
    The Joe Satriani exercise I did see him comment on it. The point of it was to do it without the squeaky string noise from the wrapped strings. Still a good exercise.
    I am no good, and one of those who bought an electric guitar when the Beatles came out. I do have fun trying though.... Not enough hours in the day....
