Used to go to the Skylon back in the early 90s with friends. Good times. They had bumper cars, and other large amusements. They boarded up those areas and now it feels confined. Restaurant concession stands gone. Candy stands gone..
I'm sure COVID hasn't helped either. It definitely seems like it has a lot of potential for a comeback. It's in a great location and people are always looking for something new to do; especially parents trying to occupy their kids in the colder months. The Skylon has never really changed since I was a kid except the arcade was a lot busier when I was a kid. Life long resident here and would love to see some upgrades all around. Just subscribes as I love Niagara and Vegas!

@@HiddenJackpots much appreciated! I've spent a lot of time over the years at the Falls so I've gotten somewhat acclimated. Plus I'm going with a Niagara Falls native but recommendations are always welcome. We're going to try and do some cross border shopping as I haven't been into Buffalo since before the pandemic. And I know we've got the Christmas show at the casino on the Saturday night so the schedule is somewhat full. But perhaps in the future we can try and plan a collab!

I don't believe there is a time limit at the observation deck but it does close at 12am. Of course double check times as they are subject to change especially with the seasons.
I totally agree with your review on Skylon Tower. The food did Not impress me at all & I was disappointed with my dinner. However, it was an experience to eat in a revolving restaurant, a little tricky stepping on & off, still nice. Would not do it again. I will take your recommendation & try The Keg for some good steaks next time or even go on the US side & go to a local Bar & Grill in Hyde Park for the one & only Buffalo Pizza & wings!
You may also consider Milestones, Mortons, Watermark, or Rainbow Room. I've only been to Milestones out of those but yeah you get the view without having to sacrifice the food quality. I agree though; you're paying for the whole experience which was still nice but I also wouldn't be in a hurry to do it again. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment!
I went there earlier this month. They still have a small game room downstairs. With air hockey and an arcade with some really old games. I feel that the space could be updated and better utilized.

It depends on your budget and what you're craving. The Keg in Embassy Suites has nice views of the falls and lots of steak and seafood options. Milestones in Marriott on the Falls also has good views of the falls and decent food. A bit more budget friendly than The Keg. Did you have a specific type of food or budget in mind?

@@i.am.robin121 I will definitely have to strongly recommend checking out Taco & Tequila. They have great Mexican food! Their patio in the summer is awesome but still a nice place to visit in the winter too. No view of the falls but delicious food and drinks.
That's funny! When I was little, I thought it was the CN Tower which made no sense because I live in Toronto and would have just been coming from there 🤦🏻♂️
Yes we made sure to go for the earlier dinner seating as it was a bit cheaper. I don't think I'll be going back to be honest. But something to check out if you've never been before!
Took the elevator up. Used to be an entertaining informative operator. It has gone severely down hill. Had some woman wearing a head scarf who didn’t utter a single word. Just stared at her phone the whole way up. They need to hire outgoing service minded individuals. Canada is not the same as it was in the 80’s and earlier. It’s gone to shit.
Sorry you had that experience. Our operator did explain a little if I remember correctly. It's definitely a prime opportunity to give some quick facts about the tower, etc. I do somewhat agree that the service industry as a whole has changed a lot. It feels less about the customer experience and more about gouging at every opportunity companies get. There are fees and tips attached to everything now with no added benefit to the customer. But as long as we keep paying and showing up, they'll keep charging us.
I just see the Handcraft gallery in the video.. I have bad memories with Owner of Handcraft gallery. The Khan Owner couple told me "You are Loser! Asshole!" and kicked me out from their Father's house at night time on 2019.07. It was when I just came back from toronto. They made A Forced Eviction Letter without agreement for kicking two family members and other guests out from their father's house. Vitims cried alot and got panic because of them.

Do they allow to stay longer at the observation deck after the meal? Thank you.

I haven't been in the dining room since the early 2000's. Overrated, but I'm a local. I'll check out the buffet when it reopens in the spring.

I mean it seems ok to go there once, not like your would go again. The food is ok, after 5 it’s really expensive
