To those who don't follow the sport, Caleb is now in the NBA making nearly $2M a year.
Thank you for the update ❤
in wich team does he play?
Praise Jesus.
Wow...
mokyaffe Sacramento Kings
God bless you, Roosevelt Barnes, for you faith, compassion and genuine love for Caleb! You are a miracle, my friend! I love watching you, as you watch Caleb on the court! Boiler up!
Praise the Lord!
Man, I can`t keep a dry eye when I watch this..So inspiring.
I'm crying my eyes out. What a great dad.
I stopped going to church years ago. But this bece my new church. My feel good videos. Every Sunday now I binge a view videos of the on the road series. Sometimes rewatch some of my favorites. Kinda changed my whole way of thinking really. I've since fed the homeless man down the street from me. every time I see him I stop and give him what I can. I let rude people cut in front of me in traffic and don't get all mad anymore. I stand up for what's right even if its against family and friends. Damn it just these little videos changed me. It really is the the little things that make the biggest changes. Thank you for that.
As a Boilermaker, I have been blessed to see Caleb play several times and there's no denying that he is amazing. But, what truly makes him awesome is his heart and his proof that hard work and love are two of the greatest equalizers to living a challenging life. May God give Caleb the grace to continue all the blessings he has shown to the Purdue community to world and to Roosevelt Barnes, all we, the Purdue faithful can say is "thank you". Thank your for guiding, loving, and believing in our beloved, Biggie.
No.Purdue can do more. How about naming the arena after Roosevelt Barnes?
Because without Roosevelt, there would be no Caleb Swanigan.
I`m sure Caleb was afraid of the future before he met Roosevelt. But, as the Bible says, "Love Casts Out Fear."
1994g0 get it right the quote is "perfect love casteth out fear I still believe God is love.!!!
Hebrews 11:1- Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
One thing to mention, his mom's love for wanting something better for her son to have faith of something better for him. I hope she is doing better too. Love this story. Go Caleb and papa Roosevelt!
I loved hearing that verse from this man.
"the only thing this kid could dunk was a cookie" LMAO
WHOMANSisthis? They killed me with that comment
WHOMANSisthis? I love how they casually had to put that pun in there. I could not stop laughing. Feels bad
I liked, "When he couldn't jump over a piece of paper."
Steve Hartman is just savage
WHOMANSISTHIS I know I felt bad for laughing but it was funny
Damn why’d they have to do Caleb like that with the cookie joke :(
There are some people whose obesity robs themselves of all athletic capability. Sometimes its medical issues. Sometimes its willpower/self esteem. Caleb's issue was poverty. Mac'n'cheese and foods full of fats and carbs that are all shelters can provide will make someone fat. He needed a good diet, exercise, and encouragement. He got everything he needed to not just survive, but succeed from his adopted father.
I'm thankful that his mother gave him up. She loved him enough to give him the possibility of a better future, and now the kid's in the NBA.
Ikr
Rip Caleb Swanigan
Faith in humanity restored, thank you Mr. Barnes...
Outstanding! Thanks Caleb & Mr. Barnes. An inspirational journey all around and fun for us Boiler fans to watch.
Just saw on ESPN that he passed away at the age of 25. Prayers for his father and the rest of his family and friends
CBS thank you for bringing this story to us. Heart felt thru and thru😊
Plays for the Portland Trailblazers. What a story. Amazing.
Seeing this story for the first time, then finding out that Caleb died this year at age 25💔
For those of you that don't know much about him he made it to the NBA but he sadly passed away from natural causes at the young age of 25 RIP
Crying so hard. What a beautiful story ❤️
What an inspiration!
this is my 20th episode in a row... and counting!
I with you I've watched so many I've lost count lol
rip Caleb, you will be remembered.
Humanity at it's best
It’s not possible for anything 2 to 3 minutes could make me tear up every time I watch a new one… Steve Hartman “hold my beer”
OUTSTANDING
Just ran across this. Simply loved it.
This man is a saint, I literally am not religious at all, but his quote about faith got to me.
Both So Lucky to have found one another. I know first hand as I was in 17 Foster Homes.. A little bit of Love would have Helped.
That's the difference a dad makes.
One of Many!
To those who don't follow the sport, Caleb passed away in 2022 due to natural causes. RIP Caleb Swanigan 🙏🙏
Keep the faith!! God Bless 🙌🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾💖
BOILER UP CALEB
BOILER UP!!!!
I hope that even when he is famous and like popular and making a ton of money he won’t forget this guy who saved his life
Hes in the nba now
Awesome. Congratulations!
“ the only thing this kid could dunk is a cookie” 😭😭
Great story!
All he needed was somebody to believe in him and then an angel was sent to him. Kind of like Raheem Mostert of the 49ers who was cut by six teams in two years and then yesterday scored four touchdowns in the 49ers win in the NFC championship.
WoW
Thank You Steve
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
CBS is so cool. I love your stories.
Bro they really came at him with the cookie joke I’m dying
This guy was an absolute DAWG at Purdue
Omfg poor kid
Thank god he's doing well now
Awesome! Great Men!
Some stories needs a part 2..
BTFU Caleb lets get this win at the BIG TEN tournament! 👍👊☝👌
Brandon Pense lets try and win march madness if possible!
Goes to show you that if you put your head down and do the work, and have the correct support from family/friends anything is possible.
GOD BLESS ROOSEVELT WONDERFUL MAN THAT HELP WHEN SEE SOMETHING GOING WRONG TO MAKE IT RIGHT....WONDERFUL.
Handsome boy. Good for him! Good job, Dad!
Stunnng. ❤
love it!!
Beautiful 🎉❤🎉
00:45 that was uncalled for lmao
That's amazing
faith is the substance of things hoped for and an evidence of things not seen
Boiler up!
Yes
"Is this kid one of a kind, or is he just one of many kids on our streets and in our foster system who simply need someone to believe?" This is so true and reminds me of another quote, "I'm less interested in the workings of einstein's brain than in the certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in sweatshops"
The only thing this kid could dunk is a cookie best joke ever
Rip Caleb “Biggie” Swanigan
He died at 25
Follow the recruiting story and how the kid wanted to go to Michigan State but Roosevelt Barnes ‘steered’ hi. To Purdue. Not all clean and Izzo lost him because he would not pay.
To all the black men who stand up, stand strong and stand out, for kids that are not yours i respect, love and appreciate you. Thank you .....and keep standing you will get your just reward if not here but in heaven. ❤
😢❤️
Damn straight up roasting him dude tf
As of may 2021, he was arrested for DRUG charges, ballooned to 400 pounds and is out of basketball.
Really commentator. "Are you lying to him"...seriously. What kind of FATHER you make... stupid question and thought. That's how you build courage and self esteem by talking FAITH into your children. My statement to my son was 'GOD DON'T MAKE NO JUNK' and it was effective knowing where he is today. You speak the positive into your child. God spoke everything into EXISTENCE so should we as parents. This us what I don't understand how can you speak the negative and expect to get the positive.
Imagine if this man didn't adopt him he would probably be in prison.
or dead
I just wish someone would give me a chance
Only thing this kid could dunk is a 🍪
@2:55 sir, your shoes its untie
Good addition to the Sacramento Kings...916!
Now he’s gotta get some playing time for the Blazers
Who's here after #16 FDU beat #1 Purdue?
@1:09 bruh tie your shoes
That's voice tho.
Again we go to the Bible. If there is a person who encourages us a lot, it is God.
In life we many times need a push and someone to believe in us.
Even his name is biblical
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hebrews 11:1 - 1:44
100
How are you homeless and over 300 pounds?
I'm guessing because of the fear that you might not get your next meal the next day or for a while, he just ate all junk foods and sweets, basically everything he could eat. It makes sense if you try to imagine being in his position.
0:41 FAT JOKE!!!!!!!!! :)
M starting to like CBS...
Usually i dont like mainstream media. Coz they always negative ...manipulative, PROPAGANDIST n showing mostly doom n gloom.
Steve Hartman great story. Your humor and the stories you cover are enriching, enlightening, and entertaining. Keep it up.
