The humming sound of the Cab turning is so soothing in the Volvo along with the easy on the ears engine in the background. Chris narrates better than anyone else, it is exactly if he and I were having a conversation. This is talent which can't be taught, all natural and wholesome.
Finally at the end Chris says what I'd been thinking about it being good topsoil once it drys. Add in some sand and clay plus some other topsoil and it'd end up being a good base for pasture grass or to grow hay.
I enjoy your content. My first job out of high-school was running heavy equipment clearing land and so forth. I went into the Army for a while now I work for the railroad running the big locomotives down the track. Theres been times I'd wake up thinking im running an excavator lol.

@Andrew Newsom - I always wondered how much the the operator knows to load. Chris knows his bucket and counts loads. I enjoyed his explanation because I’m not an operator but love watching. I hope that helps explain

chris I watch all of your videos and watch you do your magic I've been a subscriber for bout 4 or 5 years just wanted show support love the videos and hello from the mountains of nc.
it's neat to watch the mud. it jiggles for a moment like it's liquid, then it freezes in place. siphons are neat too. if it pulls in a little air, sometimes it'll keep working at a slower rate, allowing it to come to an equilibrium. if the pond rises enough, it's possible the siphon could push the air out and start flowing at full capacity, on its own, but I would take a guess the pond would need to be near full.
Making a little head way ! You have to move quite a bit of that slop to even see where you made a dent, take a truck load out and it's running back in just as fast ...lolol.. But, you'll get it knocked out pretty quick if the rains will hold off....Great as always Chris !! Have a Great Evening Man !! On to the Next....
I played in the dirt today with my son when I got home from work! He was digging a hole in the backyard and I decided to join him. Got to about 4 ft deep so far.
My parents built me a sandpit in the back garden. As far down as I could dig, there was sand. Every so often, they'd dump a bag or two of fresh sand in there to make up for what was lost to scatter, compaction, or being stuck to me and then washed down the drain.
seen a few channels do this kind of work carnt help but think theres a need for some machine to dry or remove as much water as possible before transporting it away , possibly save road traffic with few lorries needed not to mention dumping space and possible time
Love how ya comet on the door opening on the road. I actually was driving a old 28 foot end dump trailer loaded with cow manure from a feedlot to a farm to be composted. And the dam door popped open right in the middle of where the Idaho state Road dept. had just reseal ed and chipped. Needless to say it was quit a mess and also the last load I hauled. End of my truck driver dreams. gonna stay with farming.
We dredged a marina last year. That stuff just ran out of the trucks. We took some straw and put it inside the box at the bottom of the gate. That sealed it up tight. Im positive it will fix your issues.
Chris, to me, an outsider, it makes sense to have the trucks drop-off their mud at your farm. You know where the dirt came from, you know what's in the trucks, if your farm is nearby drop it there, it looks like much better soil than the hard native soil at the farm.
Hey bud i named dropped you on Dirt perfect live feed today. I heard you name drop him in a comment the other day. I asked what was your relationship. He gave you some respect xx ....can’t wait for your next video!
No spreading that cargo out, self levelling, takes care of it for you. When the truck tipped at the farm it made a very good imitation of a very large bovine crap. 😂🤠🇬🇧
Man that's good silty soil. I'm sure a landowner would love to have every load to mix in with their soil. Crazy Edit just saw the end. I'd take every load to the home place.
Curious if you could put a couple scoops of the drier mud into the dump trucks, have them lift the bed with the tailgate still shut to let the dry stuff slide back to the tailgate to seal it off from the sloppy mud from falling out when they were driving down the road. Kinda like you did with the haul truck on the gun range job with the sandy soil. Just a thought I had while watching, lol.
Looks like you're working in my hometown judging by the carolina blue bus at 7:46. Several thousand miles away now. No surprise there isn't a local place to take it...
Have you ever thought about buying large parcel of land clearing and selling the wood, and turn the property into a clay, sand, fill dirt pit and then turn that into a mud pit dump site, just asking.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Well Chris at least you making a dent in it, maybe tomorrow you can get some more trucks in there and help you get a lot more of it out but anyway brother you and John and yawls families y’all stay safe keep the videos coming brother
I like your plan for scraping back and loading out. In my opinion you are: 1.reaching too far to load mud when it's right beside the truck and 2. using the bucket rather than the mat to move mud is inefficient. In my opinion. Really enjoy your videos Chris especially when you are creative with the camera placement.
Chris because you're loading only mud or muck is it possible to have built a bucket for that Volvo that has three times the capacity of the one you're using since you're not necessarily digging using it only for transferring mud???
You'd think that stuff would stick to the bed but it just comes right on out. Just curious why gravel pits and landfills won't accept it where you're at, do they just automatically assume that it's contaminated material rather than mess with it? Here they'd love to have that stuff for filling up the mined out gravel pits or just to resell it as topsoil.
Hey Chris, the mud's not that bad, the spread pan looked pretty clean and dry. We have seen you load much worse, when it runs out the tailgate. LOL Have a good one!!
How long till that goop will be usable that your dropped off at your place? I heard that dredge material takes a couple years to be used to allow all the organic material to die out.

Really good job!!!! You did a great job cleaning up all of that mud! The result is great so far.
Waiting for the usual bicycle to be pulled up with the mud. Christmas time is coming. 🎄

No waders for the cows yet .
So this slop does have some value to it? There's organics in it that would make it useful for farming or top soil like you said?

Why wouldn’t it be a good idea to stockpile 10 truckloads of your dredging and sell it to people who need top soil (after it dries out)?
The profit just isnt there. Topsoil is relatively cheap compared to the cost to haul it, and the time/effort to mess with it.
HOA would never allow it.

Dumping that goop is like a cow pooping. Lol.
How long will that take to dry into good topsoil?
Dump it into a muck spreader and spray it across the field, and the wet won't matter.
If it's road wash a vary long time. You end up with a bunch of different metals and compounds from cars/salt/asphalt. Really nasty stuff.

This looks a little frustrating. Every time you take out a scoop of mud, the hole you just made fills right back in giving the look of no progress!
I still think you could really benefit from a mobile conveyer belt for jobs like this. Scoop directly onto the belt, and let it pour into the truck.
..just playin' in the mud..lol..good one, stay safe..
