    You seem to belong here - hoping it works out! Happy that you are happy here! Watch swedish tv (maybe listen to radio/podcasts?) and practice with people you feel comfortable with (kids, friends & neighbours) - no one will get upset if you get/say something wrong. It doesn't have to be perfect! Good luck and welcome home! 🌞

    You have a great opportunity to speak Swedish at home, and that is with your eldest daughter. Because I think she speaks almost fluent Swedish. Just talking in a calm environment gets you over the panic threshold.
    Det är nog ingen som kräver flytande svenska efter 3 år. Hur lång tid tog det att lära dig flytande engelska?

      It probably took me 6 years to become fluent in English ;)

    I'd like to see a whole video about that ring. Just a relaxed video, nothing fancy or scripted. Maybe show how the app works and how it keeps track of things and helps you sleep. I need help with my sleep. 😣😴

    I've lived my entire life in Sweden and I honestly wouldn't want to move to another country. However I wouldn't mind moving Sweden to the Mediterranean or somewhere similar. Winters here truly suck

    You can just move and other stuff...
    No, we can't. I like Sweden, but God, as a citizen of out EU or out North America country I literally not really have a choice because of permits and visas. Even in Sweden I can get decline on my permit "tomorrow" and be forced to go back to country where I could face 10-20 years in prison. Also there a lot of others people who was forced to leave their homes and they don't have choice neither.

    • @LivingSwedish
      @LivingSwedish  5 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, I'm talking a lot for a EU citizen perspective I'm afraid. I don't have much experience as non-EU but I can see it's super hard.

    Nice vlog...Wow 3 Yrs! Congratulations
    I hesitate to bring this subject up because your videos are positive with pleasentries and very informative ... but unless you live under a rock ...the global news and on UA-cam, there's frequent reporting about Sweden having a serious a gun violence problem.
    If you care to share info, l just want to ask you is it rampant? or is it contained, or confined within the so-called no go zones?
    Does it spill out and /or is it a problem for all communities?
    Where is all this violence happening ?
    They're saying the problem is the worst in the EU..What happened???
    Many vloggers on sm, who chat about moving to Sweden, paint a picture of mostly idyllic living and rarely address this topic.
    I hope it's get fixed...
    I hope you and family get to remain in SE.
    BTW!... I picked up quite a good bit of Swedish watching the reality series Wahlgrens Värld🎉
    Allow that show to become white noise as you work etc ..
    😂

      Thanks for your questions! I once talked about it in one of my videos ("The Dark Side of Sweden") 7 months ago. When it comes to a realistic view, I only know about it from the news. The problems are there and need to be addressed but the reality is still an idyllic life (most of the time). It doesn't make sense to talk about it a lot and spread fear and negativity. And it wouldn't be realistic for my life. This is where I can contribute ;) Hope that helped a little!

    If you will learn swedish, you must begin talk that home in family.

    • @writerchris2j1984
      @writerchris2j1984 5 місяців тому

      Nej, children learn the language anyway. But the language of the parents is hard work to preserve. How should the children learn to communicate with the families in the home country of the parents? In my opinion, onside work with swedish people would help to learn to speak it.

    • @thehoogard
      @thehoogard 5 місяців тому

      bad idea. that would deprive the children of their chances of learning their mother tongue.

    • @writerchris2j1984
      @writerchris2j1984 5 місяців тому

      @@thehoogard What is the mother tongue? I think in this case may english or/and german. The children learn in förskolan/kindergarten swedish. Would you like that you children cannot talk to there grandparent? Or do you think childeren can not handle to learn 2 or 3 languages when they learn these languages in a naturell way?

    • @kimcarlsen689

      Children will learn English in school and home anyway.

      Hi do you think as a slightly older person thinking of moving to Sweden that I could get by without Any Swedish only english as I feel at this stage it is such a difficult language to learn understand , thanks.

    • @ahlsn7346
      @ahlsn7346 5 місяців тому

      @@jackjones7504 get by, yes absolutely. Most people in Sweden speak english very well. It may however be difficult to integrate into different parts of society without Swedish speaking. So it depends on how much you want to take part of the society. I have some work mates who've been in Sweden for 4-5 years but mostly speak english. We speak Swedish with them which they do understand but they answer in English because they feel more comfortable with it. By time they will probably speak more Swedish but things work out very well.
