Such a missed opportunity for the Blade 14 with a OLED display. A lot of customers which are shopping for the Legion Slim 5 OLED could have been won over.
I'm glad they've kept the mini led monitor option. So few windows laptops have them, and i'd definitely choose it over OLED for longevity - high end laptops like these remain usable for basically a decade, and we really don't know how OLED laptop screens will be holding up 5 years from now, particularly if you use your laptop primarily for productivity and have similar applications (IDEs, NLEs, DAWs, or even just applications like chrome and ms office) open nonstop.
Yeah, for longevity I can understand choosing mini-led. I have my Razer OLED the glossy version and it's been fantastic for me. I'll choose to grab the OLED model because the true blacks is too good to not have and I see people on the Razer sub saying they had issue with their mini-led display uniformity and blooming issues.
@@escape_from_consent_city I feel the same way but when will the touchscreen come back? Probably not going to for a while. If it was the touchscreen with the glossy display I’d jump all over this.
5 years from now will be fine. But even if we presumed it wouldn't be, and that there were no other problems, a repair of the screen in 5 years would be fairly cheap and inconsequential. Doesn't justify having a worse screen to not have minor inconvenience in 5 years.
@@Patrick-y4d1z At least with the ultra wide QD OLED panels, rtings found significant enough burn in after 600 hours to recommend them only for gaming and not static content or letterboxed content. That's 2 hours a day for a year, if you work 8 hours a day, you're going to see burn in pretty quickly.
I hope their configurations on their website are still a work in progress because their options versus pricing suck like ass. I've got a Blade 15 2020 Advanced and I wouldn't mind being a returning customer but with these configurations - plus the use of 13th gen Intel cores, if I do buy a Razer again, it won't be this year. Mind you, I'd probably be better off waiting for RTX 50 series anyway.
These (G14 + G16) might be the very best computers that ships to the market in 2024. From an engineering standpoint, it's absolutely bonkers! and I'm a Mac user.
I'm in the same boat right now. I love my Razer Blade 17 (2020 Model), but the Zephyrus for 2024 is a damn beast. I was disappointed at the pricing for the Zephyrus. Like I knew the Zephyrus was going to be expensive, but I wasn't expecting $2600 for the 4080 Model, I was thinking it was going to be closer to $2000-$2200. My decision right now will be between these two.
By the way, I didn't want to say anything but damn asus nailed it! Their new laptop line is amazing, I have the zyphrus, since 2021. Bass Windows laptop I've ever owned
WTF is with all these 16:10 ratio screens? I hate it, especially for gaming. Because it formats the image to be taller, reducing your FOV on the left and right. If all you're doing is productivity, sure, 16:10 is good for documents and charts. But for gaming and entertainment it feels narrow and boxed in.
because it allows to make the display bigger without making the laptop bigger. Otherwise you have a huge bottom(and sometimes top) bezel instead of useful screen space. Personally, I prefer it for gaming as well. Haven't noticed less space on the left and right, just more vertical space.

Maybe next year
The new ROG Zephyrus 14 OLED looks amazing tbf. And a lot cheaper I'd suspect.
ikr damn that would be dream laptop for me
@@Patrick-y4d1z The G14 is really coming for the Blade 14's neck. It's now all aluminum with a 120Hz OLED screen. More widely available too.
Just get the new G14, pretty much an OLED razer this year.@@nff_1950

ASUS G-series wiping the floor with Razer this year.
Ram not upgradable on zephyrus and ssd to..
@@mehdijaichi9533ram speed is great over 7000, suck that it max out 32 gb tho, ssd is upgradable on both model what you on about
I think the ASUS G16 also has a 240Hz 16” OLED display…. So, I’m not sure Razer is the 1st… maybe tied for the 1st?
May you have a fantastic day and many more to come❤🥰
Asus beats Razer this year hands down.
Gorgeous, I love that sharp line boxy design so much. The macbooks looks like a bread pan more than a notebook.
That's cool. Are the 16 inch and 18 inch get amd processors?

Not this year plus it is outrageous pricing. Zephyrus G16 for me this year, plus design is better.
it has slower watt

No 17-inch upgrade?
The 2024 zephyrus series is gonna chew Razer down like a toy. Hope they stop acting like apple and start being more competitive/innovative
That’s what I’m talkin bout
Lol.
Anything that’s not a monoblock chassis isn’t in the same conversation imo. Idc how good the the zephyrus is because it feels like plastic junk
@@GodHatesXbox
The new Zephyrus is a monoblock chassis just like Razer Blade is. So you have literally no point.
Razer doesn’t just sell laptops… their main selling point is mice and stuff
The keyboards on the white variant looks so cheap
I thought it was a USD350 chromebook
L.
3000 USD and you only get a 4070 mobile chip? GTFO
Would anyone recommend Blade 17 for day trading?
Everyone talking about asus being better in all ways not mentioning the g16 max tdp of 115 watts while razer blade 16 is 175 watts
how much of a difference does 115 and 175 watts tdp make im considering buying razer or asus
18 inches and they still can't include a numpad
Couldn't the 14 get rid of that bottom bezel, just looks out of place.
Eh
It really doesn't matter when you're using it
It’s not that bad in person tbf I saw it earlier back at microcenter.
Boo no oled on the 14 inch
Wtf same design???? Welp back to being an Asus fan
Razer laptops are nice but the price is not justified...
240hz on a laptop... + razer, this battery is gonna bloat like it's Christmas
