Who are the haters of XG? They reference this in a lot of their songs. They are so good, I don’t know why they are not on America’s top 40 yet.
They were on the US radio top 40 with Left Right, up to #29
I have encountered a yt video posted by a Korean user comparing XG and New Jeans and the comments were crazy and very racist. The video has like 3K likes or something and all the comments are in Korean. Those are the only haters I encountered but they're a lot. A large percentage of the comment was referencing the Avex CEO's mistranslated speech. They also mentioned that XG is using Korean staff/people so they are only popular due to the effort of Koreans. They also commented on the physical appearance and height of XG. And of course it all boils down to their hate against Japanese basically.
@@MyawMyaw01 there were also some US haters on their Tape 3B with Jurin and Cocona on short form social media, claiming Cultural Appropriation and Blaccents, not knowing XGALX had a link to the originators mv and also paid homage in the lyrics. The Korea-Japan hate goes back to 1900-1945 when Japan occupied Korea and did some horrible things; the mistranslation of the former Japanese ex- CEO of Avex fueled those flames of hate, including fir some to hate our innocent girls of XG, who live in SK for 2 years and are virtually fluent in Korean. Even though all successful Kpop groups go to Japan because the market is bigger than SK and is the #1 foreign market for Kpop. Some Koreans are so proud of Kpop they think they invented Pop music, Rap, etc, even though SK was practically a dictatorship in the 1980s and there were only traditional Trot songs, not Pop or Kpop. There was a deliberate investment in 1997 of the SK government to boost Korean Pop Culture and export it like they did with TVs to help the massive Chaebol companies sell more electronics and cars, like Samsung, LG, Hyundai, etc. I was enjoying Jpop back in the early 90s, and Japan has always loved American music, going back to the 1950s with Jazz and other genres. But XG being so talented, and singing only in English, and those unfortunate twusted comments, have made a lot of Korean XG haters. Sadly, it reflects on them, not XG. These girls have worked hard for 5 years, the last 2 in Seiul, only to be largely shunned by many kpop fans, because they choose to be XP, not "Kpop". As if BTS never sang 4-5 songs completely in English to try to increase their global reach. Or JYP didn't go to Japan to create NiZiU, or go to US to create A2K. PS- I love NJ, too. It comes down to the music, talent, not the nationality. Music is an international language, and Geopolitics shouldn't be translating it.
Just ignore the haters, we thank them for helping streaming on music 🤣
