In order for any person to receive a card, they must be in the city of that card, INCLUDING the researcher. The researcher is able to give cards to other players (anywhere), and they may be any card. In order for Jaz to get the cards, Jaz and the person who had the cards must be that city, unless Rik would give Jaz the card, as he's the researcher. Jaz could take if it was her turn, or Rik giving her the card. (At least by my understanding) I will admit, the rules in this game are very confusing when it comes to rules, and I was very confused when I first started playing this game.
I think that their issue was giving vs. taking on each other's turns. On your turn, you can only give a card. Receiving cards happens on other's turns. The researcher can give or receive any card in any city. When they tried to receive cards, they did it on the wrong turn.
Makes sense, the game is played with slightly modified rules because people interpret differently, while the video game has no leniency when it comes to rules.
You can take and give cards on your turn. The researcher’s ability only allows the researcher to give any player any card but must follow the same rules as other players when receiving cards.
Many of these online board games you guys have started recently (ticket to ride, mysterium, now pandemic) I have played irl. It's so cool seeing you guys play the online versions and seeing the actual cards from the board games in the digital version :D Next time someone should go quarantine specialist, I feel like it makes the game slightly easier since it stops infections and outbreaks in the city that it's in AND the connecting cities!
Love the channel! If you play again, try it with the Quarantine Specialist. Cities they are in AND connected to don’t get infected if they are pulled. It helps things run a lot smoother.
Awesome game I'm really enjoying these board game type games because I'm that kind of person I have about 20 different types of monopoly and also own many other games( including card games) thank you so much you have a great community and you all do what games are for having fun with your friends.
Pandemic is renown for being one of the most popular and also hardest co-op board games in the tabletop community. The introductory game is known for kicking people’s butts. Good luck!
This channel I'm acctually mad that you guys don't get noticed more people need to get off fortnite to watch this I researched ark series 3 times me on episode 50 on sharers skies I love it so much this channel cures my depression
We're all playing a 7.8 billion player game now. Some roles include the OCD hand-washer, the anti-masker, the extra 20 feet social distancing guy, the nobody's going to stop me from going on vacation guy, etc.
If played correctly "resilient population" is the strongest event card of the base set of the game, you have to play it before the shuffle of the deck after a pandemic card (you can play it in every moment of the game, even during the procedure imposed by the "pandemic" card) in order to avoid immediate outbreaks...
So for stuff where there was already many pandemy pips, it was not pure bad luck. When you reshuffle the discard pile, you don't actually reshuffle the while thing, you reshuffle the discard pile and put that whole thing on top. So you're guaranteed to go through all those cities before any new cities getting infected
I don’t know about the digital version but for the physical version, there’s an expansion pack that will allow a player to act as the virus. Hopefully, they also have it for the digital version.
lmfao...i don't mean to make light of covid19 but it was pretty funny that i used to play this game a lot basically a year before the outbreak happened lol
I know you said you didn't want to hear it but I'll give a tip. I really suggest playing the board game because since you are the one doing the mechanics you'll be reading over and over the rules and it will help you grasp a better understanding. I actually won the first time I played but it is a very difficult game and there will be a lot of losses. Was a good try and don't give it up. You'll get it eventually
Overall, the game is easier with 2 players than it is with 4. Allows players to collect certain colors without worrying about trading. Also, make sure any cities with 3 cubes are a top priority. An epidemic can happen out of nowhere and ruin your day. I would like to see you try this one again. Playing the same one again will help make improvements, like "No Time to Relax" and "Overcooked".
Rules aren't quite explained properly: -The cards the players draw never reshuffle. If that deck is empty, you lose. (Lack of funding, is how I remember it.) -When the infection cards discard pile is shuffled back to the infection deck, they're shuffled together and put on the top, not simply shuffled into the full deck.
watched Will Wheaton play on tabletop and this game is ridiculously hard. Wont spoil whether he wins that ep but he does start the episode saying hes never one a game prior so yea, hard af all around
I can understand the reason that some people would prefer an electronic version of this, but instead of making it simpler, it just becomes harder to understand why things happen. Imagine this with the expansion. How hectic would that be...?
As a German I'm very confused about the location of Essen, because it's a comparably minor city in the West of Germany but this game places it in Denmark? I checked if there was a city of Essen in any Scandinavian country and didn't find one. I am confusion. Edit: Just realised that everything is misplaced London being in the Atlantic Ocean and all^^
It's not misplaced, it's simply not represented on the electronic map. On the real life board there are small lines drawn with dots at the end, the dots being the actual city location. For example, no city named "Milan" exists in Poland, but there's a line from it to North Italy.
This game is hard. I would never say it's easy. Once you understand the way the game works then what you need to do can be straightforward, but actually winning is difficult because there's a lot of RNG involved. In fact I'd say the game is harder with more players, though also more satisfying if you can pull it off.
Can you guys make a tutorial of this game? It's very complicated and i'd like to be able to follow along better! Also tips and tricks for playing it with friends so we can try and win!
Could these games be updated with new coronavariants, out of stock vaccines, and crazy President Evil? New DLC coming soon... if you are alive to play it.
The quarantine specialist is very useful. Blocking infections in all cities surrounding them
Choco loco hahah I think EVERYONE IS A QUARENTINE SPECIALIST.
Yes, its collocation on the board is very tactical...
Pandemic is one of my favorite board games :)
this game is so interesting! had me on the edge of the seat the whole time, trying to figure the game out and cheering you guys on

Please do more! I'm excited to see how you guys get better at this!
18:17 "if you play this game IRL you are going to lose more often"
what if we're living this game irl?
Good point
I wonder why UA-cam recommended this video at this time
I am freaking loving the new like online board games thing yall are doing 😋
Yes, its very handy right now! Especially the ONLINE part!
welcome to stumpt were 4 people argue about food and play awsome board games

Look at this popping up in my recommendations
30:17 Price: but to be fair, we did not fully understand the way that the operations…. The dispatcher… or the researcher worked?
Internet: yes
Love the board games so far. I'll gladly watch these. I'm mainly been watching your overcooked playlists so far
I LOVE this game :D So cool, but so hard :C
This channel I'm acctually mad that you guys don't get noticed more people need to get off fortnite to watch this I researched ark series 3 times me on episode 50 on sharers skies I love it so much this channel cures my depression
2019: *this game*
2020: *COVID-19*
FORESHADOWING
Actually, Jaz as the operation expert CAN FLY ANYWHERE AROUND THE WORLD WITHOUT DISCARDING ANY CARD
Welp I love hearing the conversations abt pandemics and diseases and trying to spread and trying to contain it.
I love this game!!! Even if I keep losing when I play it. can't wait to see you play more
Most realistic part of this is NZ getting off scot free
This gameplay aged well...
Watching in 2021, still in quarantine
In my personal opinion, I think it’s good to the quarantine specialist, my friends and I play that role and it saves us from outbreaks a lot.
We're all playing a 7.8 billion player game now. Some roles include the OCD hand-washer, the anti-masker, the extra 20 feet social distancing guy, the nobody's going to stop me from going on vacation guy, etc.
I like when they do games alltogether it's funny and entertaining

Seems so hard! Keep it up guys! Pls do more of this. 💪🏻
I love reading the comments that are from a year a go and the ones from the last few months

Honestly, you guys are doing a better job than some places irl ❤️
Maybe the combination of Pandemic and Plague Inc. could be Pandem Inc.
Creativity 100
Pun aside, ahhhh plague inc made its own tabletop game so probably nope
I don’t know about the digital version but for the physical version, there’s an expansion pack that will allow a player to act as the virus. Hopefully, they also have it for the digital version.
It has some expansion stuff on the Switch version for free, but not all of it.
I’ll be 100% honest. I didn’t really know what the quarantine specialist meant until 2020
lmfao...i don't mean to make light of covid19 but it was pretty funny that i used to play this game a lot basically a year before the outbreak happened lol
Hope you all play more of this game!
Love the old group plays.
continue playing this game!!! love watching your board game “series” :)
I know you said you didn't want to hear it but I'll give a tip. There is an Addon for Pandemic where one player plays as a Bio-Terrorist against the other players

This is a great time to play this game again
Thanks UA-cam algorithm. At least you didn't wait 7 years to recommend this

This aged well. ...
This aged well
this feels WAY to appropriate
The legacy version of the game is even cooler
Would love to see you guys play this more
This game is interesting! Would love to see more!
ooohh I like this game, yall should do more of it
I’d totally recommend playing the legacy version which is one of the best boardgames in the world!
After a epidemic the cards that were already flipped are shuffled then put on top
watched Will Wheaton play on tabletop and this game is ridiculously hard. Wont spoil whether he wins that ep but he does start the episode saying hes never one a game prior so yea, hard af all around
Oh the irony on when this video is recommended to me
After pandemic :)
this is my favorite game
i love how i get this on new years eve
I can understand the reason that some people would prefer an electronic version of this, but instead of making it simpler, it just becomes harder to understand why things happen.
Imagine this with the expansion. How hectic would that be...?
Funny thing is, there is a plague inc board game coming out soon
Hope you do more Pandemic is it quite fun
Also, when and epidemic occurs, the cards are shuffled then put ontop, makeing them apper agian much more quickly just a heads up.
So Corona saw them playing this and was like: 👀 👀 👀

I love this game!, and I love to see you play it hehehe, Hope you try playing the board game "Dead of Winter".
GG good try it is a hard game. Using movement of traveling was a game changer of direct and charter flights
also, FUCK YEAH! MORE BOARDGAMESSSS
Can you have two researchers? Because if there was two researchers you could do the exchange but it would be more difficult
Unfortunately only one of each role
luv your gameplays, keep it up :DD
I'm pretty sure you can only give the card in the city the card is so you give the Atlanta in atlanta
Hopefully they have the medic, you almost can't survive without them XD
Love the majoras mask 😍😍😍
@@Redmoto057 ;)
I play this game (physically) quite a bit. It's brutal sometimes how chance just...messes with you.. Seeing this digital though, I quite like it.

I'm actually here because of the ad and we're actually in the pandemic.
This aged like fine milk
When you watch this in 2020: mmmmhh mm I wonder how long its going to take to cure covid 🤔
I nicknamed this game Coronavirus: The Board Game.
Little did they know
Why did they put Essen in Norway?
YESS I WAS WAITING FOR THIS!
This game seems very strategy and luck based... oof
Spoiler

Can you guys make a tutorial of this game? It's very complicated and i'd like to be able to follow along better! Also tips and tricks for playing it with friends so we can try and win!
Recommended.

This is before the real pandemic happened 🤪
I’ve played the board game version of this
More i love this game
A third of Europe just died
Could these games be updated with new coronavariants, out of stock vaccines, and crazy President Evil? New DLC coming soon... if you are alive to play it.
foreshadowing
Ooh cool
Reminds me of Plague Corps, but a board game
can I play this with my online friends?
I wish you got cool music with the board game.
