I have been listening to and playing music for 50 years and I think this song is a masterpiece. Each individual playing and singing is exceptional. The long introduction to the song just enhances the crescendo at the end. The build up and tension is released at the end. To take it one step further, the beginning is the slow death of a relationship until the final breaking up and separation. Love it.
Such a great concept. They represented the concept so beautifully & in various layers. Such a bliss to hear this one.

But seriously...as much as I love Gavin Harrison, this band was great before he joined, and you should really, REALLY react to some of their older stuff. Gonna give you a list here, Ruben, and I will be VERY disappointed if you don't react to ALL of them by tomorrow! So...in no particular order: Part Zero, Parted Forever, Vapour Trails, November, Snowdrops, Bitter Pill, Bitter Day, Tightly Unwound, What Have We Sown, And So Say All of You, Kid Chameleon, Preparation for Meltdown, 3000 Days, Counting the Cost, A Million Mile Off Course, Different World, Too Much To Lose. Terribly sorry if I forgot some songs here, but anyway...You get the picture!

Nice track and performance. Long, but did not bore me, as the vibe was engaging and as they had little flourishes -- a bass groove here, some interesting drum fills there -- to keep it spicy despite the atmospheric vibe of it all. Musically feels a bit Floydish, and Pink Floyd is my favorite band. The singing reminded me at times of Radiohead's Thom Yorke, but more pleasing (no offense to Radiohead fans, how a listener reacts to a singer's voice is often a personal/subjective thing).
I could have used a longer guitar solo, as the solo that was there was very good, but i know that a big difference from 70s and 80s rock (like my recent Molly Hatchet request) to 90s and beyond, is to focus less on lead guitar and more on drumming and/or bass acrobatics and polyrhythms. (That said, I've always listened to Rush more for Geddy's bass playing than Alex's guitar playing -- despite Alex's obvious talent -- but Geddy is just a monster bass talent, perhaps almost as acrobatic as a Chris Squire or Les Claypool, but putting down grooves that are more accessible to my taste than the far out guys like Squire and Claypool.)
