    Todd Gurley is just different man.. Build of a LB, speed of a WR, footwork of a DB, vision of a RB, and an understanding of the game like a QB.

    i remember watching him in college here and there when i was in Prison, and I knew he was going to burst into the NFL with a bang. I remember being amazed with the power and dominance he displayed as a runner. He ran like a grown man amongst boys. sadly his arthritic knee has put a damper on his NFL career. his knee problems started in college, but thankfully he was able to rack up some elite numbers in the NFL before his knee really became an issue. He is still and solid NFL running back in Atlanta. But i can only imagine how this mans career might have gone if he didnt have the knee problems. He was on pace early on to be a HOF RB. but the injuries have taken a step away from his game. although he may not put up the elite rushing yards that he did early on in his career, he is still a TD machine. the guy seems to always find a way to earn 10+ TDs year in and year out. He reminds me a bit of Marion Barber later in his career. Not putting up top rushing numbers....but staying in the top 5 in Tds per year

    Being a Rams fan, I have pretty much become an expert on ACL tears (Bradford lol)
    luckily, Gurley had about as good an ACL tear you can get.
    1) it was a non contact injury
    2) clean tear (did not damage any surrounding ligaments)
    these types of injuries tend to have much faster healing rates and better post recovery durability. The people I heard comparing him to Lattimore and McGahee made me laugh, as those guys suffered very severe injuries (Dislocated knee, torn ACL, MCL, PCL etc...)

    I don't think there is any doubt that, when healthy, Todd Gurley is the best running back in college football. He is the perfect mix of power and speed. Dude powers through people with all 230 lbs and then breaks away with that track star speed. If he can stay healthy in the 2014 season, he is a first round pick without a doubt. If this was 10 years ago when the NFL didn't have an abundance of serviceable running backs, he would be a top 5 pick.

My brother who lives in Atlanta was up here in NC and had the opportunity to come to Tarboro High School, Todd's last game. He identified his professional athleticism that one night. Personally, I would find them more interesting, and better displays of Gurley's ability, if the music was quieter, or simply absent. What adds the most excitement to seeing and appreciating these plays is hearing the crowd reaction. and the announcer's descriptions. But I offer my opinion with a completely positive, constructive spirit. I do appreciate the video.

    To anyone who thinks what Todd Gurley did is related to "thug" activity obviously has never succeeded at anything in life. He made money off his own name, and last I checked every professional athlete does this. To say that the millions made off his likeness by UGA and the NCAA doesn't belong at all to him is 100% un-American.

    • @MrJwc1234
      @MrJwc1234 10 років тому +3

      I agree about with what you're saying, this rule is completely out dated and the NCAA makes a tone of money from the players, however he broke the rules plain and simple. There are a lot of liked players out there like Gurley, but they wait till they hit the pros to sale their name. Well will see what the ruling is in December.

Dare I even mention Johnny Football who did the exact same freaking thing but did not even get so much as 3 weeks suspension? I beleive that further investigation was needed however I just wanted to see him play. However he did it, and it is wrong. If you are good enough to sell your name, then you can wait until you get out of college first. It is still wrong.

    Todd Gurley and Tre Mason will be one of the most dangerous Running Back tandems in the league. Then you have Nick Foles slinging the rock to a young, talented WR/TE squad with: Kenny Britt, Brian Quick, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, Jared Cook, and Lance Kendricks. And don't forget, Todd Gurley returning kicks, Tavon Austin returning punts, with Greg Zuerlein and Johhny Hekker being the strongest legs in the league. I don't even need to talk about the Defense. If this young roster hits it's potential...then WOW.

    I want the colts to take him but when I watch his highlights I feel like I'm watching Trent Richardson college highlights and we all know how that ended

    • @52ColtsFan24
      @52ColtsFan24 9 років тому

      He's clearly talented but idk if he somehow falls far enough for the colts to take him in the second which I highly doubt I'd say ya but I don't think any team should take him first he's nearly identical to Richardson

    • @52ColtsFan24
      @52ColtsFan24 9 років тому

      Well what you call patience is exactly richardsons problem I don't know how many colts game you have seen in the last 2 years but that's what made him bad he tried to hit the homerun every time he touched the ball he didn't have the see 3 take 3 mentality and idk if gurley has it either if he goes to a team with a poor o line that can't dominate in the run game like the cowboys the holes won't open and he will get stuffed for a loss because he's waiting to long but idk maybe your right I'd definitely like to see him succeed in the NFL so hopefully I'm wrong but from what I've seen of him he doesn't look all to promising

      Anyone who thinks Gurley is Richardson doesn't know shit about Football.
      They've never played before never broken down film etc etc etc
      They are worlds apart when comparing their skill-set to the NFL
      Gurley is a different animal.

    With the 17th pick, San Diego Chargers selects Todd Gurley.
    Welcome to San Diego Todd!

    • @heat4yoass
      @heat4yoass 9 років тому +2

      ***** 49ers still have Kendall Hunter. They need a OL and WR more than anything else. They'll pick a RB maybe the 2nd, but 3rd or 4th is what i'm thinking.

    • @heat4yoass
      @heat4yoass 9 років тому

      ***** RB was not a problem for the 49ers. It was the OL. Kap getting sacked, injured. Gore couldn't produce. Put him in with a good OL and he'll be old Gore.
      I highly doubt with the best OL in the 1st round 49ers going to pass up on them.

    • @heat4yoass
      @heat4yoass 9 років тому

      ***** Why do you think they got injured. The ol was horrible. Trust me, 49ers are my NFC team, but I have Chargers blood.
      Especially with the new HC, OL is a must! Then WR. If the quality OL are gone by their pick, Dorian Beckham Green would be the best pick

    • @raidenx147
      @raidenx147 9 років тому

      Him or Gordon are my picks too unless Mathews comes back and we go after a WR to go with Kenan Allen

    • @heat4yoass
      @heat4yoass 9 років тому

      raidenx147 I have a feeling Gordon might be picked considering Gurley's injury. We don't need a big back with injuries.
      If Mathews does come back, consider Gordon and Mathews as a double headed dragon running offense.

    Wanted WR White but the Bears had same plans. I was ok with Mason and felt we should have gone with best available OL. However, you can't go wrong with this pick. Gurley is big and fast and is a definite upgrade to the position. With a suspect OL, hopefully he'll stay healthy and doesn't become a regrettable pick.

  • @brotherbonesx3163
    @brotherbonesx3163 9 років тому

    I wasn't to sold on this pick due to the fact that the Rams have 4 RB's already (Pead,Stacey, Cunningham and Mason). But after watching the video, he can bring it for sure. Its a great "Best overall available" pick. If the Rams can finish the Draft strong with talent and true team holes to fill, I will feel a lot better about the initial pick.

    It's no way he makes it out the first round. We're talking bout a runningback who's strong like marshawn lynch with the speed of jamaal charles. Gurley will go in the top 15 if not top 10. He is ranked as the #1 runningback and #9 player on the list of draft eligible players this year. Runningbacks have not gone in the first round recently since trent richardson because there hasn't been a RB that has stood out. Gurley is the clear cut best RB if not best player in college football. He did nothing lawfully illegal.

    Lions fans really want this guy, or Duke Johnson, but with the injury it's a tough call. We've been burned by drafting injured players a lot recently, but I think either of these guys (and a stud OL) would turn the sub par offense of 2014 into something to be feared.
