Dennis Lebeau Indeed but hopefully they can go home and have a listen and it brings a whole new generation of fans. Covers have taken me to the original version.
The descendents have always been more of an underground band, punk rock as a scene in general has always been more underground and that makes it harder for new fans to find it, especially as the bands grow old and cease to play live shows
fredo Rado I completely agree Descendents, Black Flag to name just a few and he also wrote one of my favourite pop punk songs When I Get Old. Indeed and he is definitely not fading.
i love how in the other vids where they were singing their songs, the blue shirted guy was rocking out massively, and here he obviously doesn't know the song but is still trying to have fun :') WHEN YOU'RE ON THE STREETS WITH A NEEDLE IN YOUR ARM...
Hope brought me here. This is a classic and one of the bands which made me want to join a band. "Take a quaalude, relax your mind." Excellent and great to see Rise Against get back to their punk roots as a lot of their later stuff has been to close to heavy metal. Bill Stevenson what a multi talented man he is.
I think if I got to see the Descendents and Bad Religion in the same night I'd be the most ecstatic person in the world :') especially if Lagwagon were in the lineup too
Hey I was at that concert! That's me at 0:46 with the camera light in the top left corner! :D And the reason nobody was going crazy is because it's a rare oppurtunity and I was trying to get pictures of it instead of wasting my time moshing!
I actually did see Bad Religion... What I meant to say was I didn't bother staying for the headlining band. Bad Religion was pretty good :) Also, I just think it'd be smart having Descendents play later in the line-up considering so many people left.
damn. i found out about this the day AFTER. not really much of a rise against fan but playing at the kansas city kitty and covering descendents songs? YES.
@SteaZandPizza I was watching an interview of tim mcilrath (singer of RA) and he said that they are going to be playing a lot more of there older stuff because they want to appeal to new fans, and old fans.
@AtarisGuy33 hey man, I was thinking that too :D.. I think that the crowd wants to listen and feel the true rise against music, thats why they are not moving so much :D..
Uh I was pretty damn *psyched to be there considering it was my first time seeing my favorite band (Descendents). I have no idea why I commented against Bad Religion... because I like them and they put on a hell of a show... Just want to make the record clear about that. I still can't bring myself to like Rise Against and understand why they had two legendary bands opening for them..
Mia Finch Love Bad Religion too. I saw them a few years ago and seriously even at their age the energy was tremendous and definitely helped getting Brooks Wackerman on drums. Seriously good drummer and very glad I was able to see him just before his departure. Best drummer in punk hands down.
TheBeastlyFollower I was about to say the same so good trivia. Hard to believe Descendents have been around for almost 40 years. I am hoping they are in the U.K. In 2017.
Mia Finch Wow, an edgy teen trying to be cool. No one gives a fuck. I was there too, 2009 and the Arena was still packed by the time Rise Against took the stage. On another hand. The limited t-shirt from that night is still my most sacred tour t-shirt.
I was at this show! I'm the hot topic fuckhead with the blue thing wrapped around his head. I had just got done moshing to rise against songs so I was too tired to move when they started playing Bikeage.
Business as usual:Too many so-called Punks are more dogmatic as catholic...The Descendents,Rise Against and Bad Religion has something in common:They are really great Bands!! * If the kids are united... * ...said a 50 year old Punk-Rock-Fan from Germoney * Hey! Ho! Let's Go *
Actually---I like the fact that Tim covers punk songs that are bad ass---i used to hate on them for the Blind cover but the more I watch the more i see RA tim is at least punk as fcuk----im not going to deny him credit=---the covers arent bad
Yeah Maroondeathtrap is right, he was just the guy who's band their covering and is actually playing guitar in the cover, why would you want to film him. some people should operate camera's.
punk rock in 2011: more people taking photos and updating their facebook statuses (pretending to know who the descendents are) than people singing along and climbing on top of each other.
killerteeth Bill has produced or remastered almost everything Rise Against has made apart from Siren Song and Wolves. Rise Against considers him family and has him come out at shows. You can find bill and rise against together a lot here on UA-cam.
@ThePunkSkunk haha. of course they're not jumping around. would you expect people side of stage at a descendents show to jump around? they're obviously friends. if you were thrashing about you'd look like an idiot.
Yeah as much as I like Rise Against (saw them open for Bigwig at The Fireside Bowl) when I saw them on their recent tour I only went because I wanted to hear the new Bad Religion songs live.. I was a bit upset to hear most of the Rise Against crowed booing Bad Religion and yelling at them to get off stage... made me want to shoot someone..
seems like 90 percent of the people dont have a clue about the greatness of this song....
Dennis Lebeau Indeed but hopefully they can go home and have a listen and it brings a whole new generation of fans. Covers have taken me to the original version.
Even then, they seem to be more into it than the RA songs, which is weird.
Seems like you weren't there neither!
that moment more than anything
The descendents have always been more of an underground band, punk rock as a scene in general has always been more underground and that makes it harder for new fans to find it, especially as the bands grow old and cease to play live shows
How I would like to shake Bill Stevenson's hand.
This guy did so much for the industry.
fredo Rado I completely agree Descendents, Black Flag to name just a few and he also wrote one of my favourite pop punk songs When I Get Old. Indeed and he is definitely not fading.
It's awesome that Bill moves his head all spazzy playing guitar just like when he's smashing his kit. This is rad.
+Brian Taylor Dude's a beast no matter what he's playing. One of my favorite musicians to watch.
Accually whilst playing drums, he moves less than playing a guitar 😂
How the hell do I get Bill Stevenson to come to my house party?
Hm. A rise against house show, with bill Stevenson, and he’s playing the guitar. What a weird event.
Looks epic
dude that's bill stevenson playing right in front of you
Destyan Eka Prasetya Lucky b*****ds
Destyan Eka Prasetya best fucking comment hahahahaha
Destyan Eka Prasetya I would kill for that spot
And he’s not playing drums he’s playing guitar!!!
What!?
new generation is so soft
Awesome that rise against do some small gigs like that !!!
i love how in the other vids where they were singing their songs, the blue shirted guy was rocking out massively, and here he obviously doesn't know the song but is still trying to have fun :')
WHEN YOU'RE ON THE STREETS WITH A NEEDLE IN YOUR ARM...
WOW! I didn`t know this is online! That was in 2010 in the bathroom of my second home, that song is actually about the girl in red in the front row!
Bill?
sshhhh don`t tell anybody
@@saltycrotchwhiff3946 Calling BS on this
LMAO that girl probably wasn’t born when this song came out or at least probably younger than 10.
Thank you SO much for posting this, Monika! I owe you a big smooch.
There later stuff is closer to hard or alternative rock, not heavy metal. But I see your point.
very cool very cool.. Love it
I think if I got to see the Descendents and Bad Religion in the same night I'd be the most ecstatic person in the world :') especially if Lagwagon were in the lineup too
Listen to the day the earth stalled. It's amazing!
Holy shit bill is fucking awesome
Hey I was at that concert! That's me at 0:46 with the camera light in the top left corner! :D And the reason nobody was going crazy is because it's a rare oppurtunity and I was trying to get pictures of it instead of wasting my time moshing!
Bill looks like he is having a blast!
Does anyone know where this show was? I swear that guy in the tucked in blue shirt and khaki pants and glasses is Joe Pera!
This was at a clothing store in Fort Collins, Colorado.
@scion6221 Yeah it was Long Beach. So many people left after Descendents :)
I actually did see Bad Religion... What I meant to say was I didn't bother staying for the headlining band. Bad Religion was pretty good :) Also, I just think it'd be smart having Descendents play later in the line-up considering so many people left.
I DIDN'T KNOW THIS EXISTED THIS IS PERFECT
Because he wrote that song. Words and music by Bill Stevenson
thats so cool a band like this would play a small show.
Ok...is there actually Anything Bill can't do? I fucking worship that man!!
Awesome rise with descendents
Bill Stephenson.... annoyingly good at everything....fucking hero!!
@ThePunkSkunk lol it doesnt look like the typical punk rock stage tho. It looks like a memorial service
when did this happen ? It would be awesome to see them in a house or you know just not a huge arena .
Seeing Rise Against next month
bill is my friends dad ive met rise against and been to one of their concerts XD IM 12!!
Althea Schliske As a drummer who grew up on Black Flag and Descendents. I say how lucky are you? Answer very
awesomeness
damn. i found out about this the day AFTER. not really much of a rise against fan but playing at the kansas city kitty and covering descendents songs? YES.
this is the new crowd of rise against
Is that freaking Joe Pera in the background?
Cool as it gets. Badass.
Where is this. Town hall at noon?
Dude, where is Bill Steventon? Still, just hearing it is good hah.
fuck yea I love this Bills the man
@SteaZandPizza I was watching an interview of tim mcilrath (singer of RA) and he said that they are going to be playing a lot more of there older stuff because they want to appeal to new fans, and old fans.
SpEnCrew First Rise Against album is excellent and should definitely do more of that.
Holy shit that is amazing! Bill is the fucking man
damn, how cool is that
Okay, I've seen it all... I can die happy...
This is fucking legendary!!!! :)
Isn't Bill Stevenson playing 🎸 not drums here? I FKN love The Descendents!!
i want rise against in my living room.......... was this in kansas city?
@drpkick82 yeah i know dude i still have these albums
@ZachfromFlorida Lol, Bill Stevenson is right there playing the guitar.
@AtarisGuy33 hey man, I was thinking that too :D.. I think that the crowd wants to listen and feel the true rise against music, thats why they are not moving so much :D..
Are they playing in a funeral home? LOL Cool to see Bill on Guitar
@lastoftheAZNGIRLS wow, that's so cool!
name song?
Good cover.
And Bill's on guitar?! Fuck yeah!
Uh I was pretty damn *psyched to be there considering it was my first time seeing my favorite band (Descendents). @@jeff7764 opinions are like assholes everyone has one and yours is full of shit.

Which interview is this? Can you please send it to me? I so fucking hope it's true!!!
WOWWWWWWW
@Lonereapr Uh... I never did?
@skunker505 You look like you're having a blast.
Dude in blue shirt and khakis is bopping right along with a clue lol
Texting, really? What could be more important?
Who know that Bill could fucking shred? XD
@ThePunkSkunk bro, its a house party, you wouldnt want fools tearin up your walls
The Descendents actually formed before Bad Religion, so, if anything, it would be the other way around.
TheBeastlyFollower I was about to say the same so good trivia. Hard to believe Descendents have been around for almost 40 years. I am hoping they are in the U.K. In 2017.
Guy in the blue MUSTA gone home and looked these guys up
dat manly hug
I saw the Descendents open for Rise Against and Bad Religion. Once Descendents finished, I left.
Mia Finch Wow, an edgy teen trying to be cool. No one gives a fuck. I was there too, 2009 and the Arena was still packed by the time Rise Against took the stage.

MAGIC FROM THE AMERICAN IDOL AUDITIONS LOL
@Baehxz bikeage :D
BIKEAGE!!!!!!!!!!
Ah okay, good :) just happy knowing you stayed haha
cool, but horrible cover quality. can't hear any voice
Just the recording, it seems who recorded this did it with a potatoe
How ironic,
Bill Stephenson is who has written the I like food from the Descendents
while the Tim McIlrath is vegetarian :)
:p
Nobody like Bill (:
@TheIllegalKind Hell Ya, these guys didnt even attempt to sound like descendents
At the start
"wow tim has really let himself go!!!"
Actually---I like the fact that Tim covers punk songs that are bad ass---i used to hate on them for the Blind cover but the more I watch the more i see RA tim is at least punk as fcuk----im not going to deny him credit=---the covers arent bad

How is it a bad cover if they are covering The Descendents? I think it's pretty cool they are covering a good punk song from a good punk band
Rise Against equally good as Descendents
have you fucking heard their newest album?
punk rock in 2011: more people taking photos and updating their facebook statuses (pretending to know who the descendents are) than people singing along and climbing on top of each other.
what a prophetic comment this was.
@lastoftheAZNGIRLS if it was Long Beach I did the same
ermergerd yur so kewwl!!!1!!!1
Why's that?
First Blind and now Bikeage---i used to love RA but i think theyre getting ahead of themselves
Why is Bill Stevenson playing guitar here?
killerteeth Bill has produced or remastered almost everything Rise Against has made apart from Siren Song and Wolves. Rise Against considers him family and has him come out at shows. You can find bill and rise against together a lot here on UA-cam.

don't be lame. i repeat, please.... don't be lame
@lastoftheAZNGIRLS Don't talk shit about Bad Religion.
Christopher Perrault That is bad form. BR are punk rock legends.
Must of been curfew...
Hahaha! That IS Milo, isn't it (looks like 'em)? Ha. Only kidding.
i wouldve just tackled tim....
