- Clients often ask which method of chrome deleting they should go with -- plastidip or vinyl wrap. In this quick video, we show 2 Teslas with 2 different chrome deleting solutions so viewers can compare and see which they prefer.
Plastidip has many great benefits. Easy DIY for anyone who wants to attempt it themselves and looks pretty reasonable on badges/emblems. Vinyl wrap gives you more of an OEM look compared to plastidip, but it requires more work than plastidip (sprays on). What's very clear is that they don't provide the same finishing once completed. This is probably the biggest deciding factor for people. Even though this video is specifically talking about chrome deletes, the same points can be said for anyone deciding to plastidip or vinyl wrap their entire car.

I appreciate the video! I'm dipping my badges and have been debating just doing the same on the window trim because I figured it would just be easier. The quality difference is huge so definitely going to wrap the trim in vinyl. So much cleaner looking 👍

Anyone who can spray paint can get a finish without 'blotchiness" with plastidip.
I'd imagine most people are impatient and rather than layering light coats like the instructions say, they just heavy coat it a few times and call it a day.

I’m about to chrome delete my whole 2018 Armada Platinum start with badges and smaller pieces.
Obviously prep-work is important & I’ll wipe with alcohol first, but I’m wondering if there is like a clear coat or gloss or something I can do to give an extra layer of protection
@@ServetheWORDclear coat is not needed. Do 4 or 5 light layers and wait 20 minutes or so between layers, also dot get too close with the can 8 to 10 inches is good.

not really a simple answer to this because of many factors but if you're asking so you can have a local installer use the same brand, it's better to just go with what they're good at because every brand performs differently, leading to different qualities of result
Play dip is mad easy to apply.
vinyl with no orange peel effect is that normal or any trick for that finish?
it depends on the brand. check out the video i made on comparing 3m vs avery gloss black, satin black, and matte black and stay til the end to see what i mean
