Excellent talk! He could have added that the margarine marketed as heart healthy by the food industry had up to 40% trans fat. History repeats.

My grandfather lived to be a few months shy of his 100th birthday. He ate meats, eggs, butter, fish, fruits, vegetables, beer, wine. He ate and drank in moderation. He never ate anything from a box or prepared by anyone besides himself, my grandmother, myself etc. He didn't languish in agony before he died. He felt tired and said "take it easy" to his family and died. My grandmother eats the same way and is 97. She is (for her age) great physical shape. Hopefully when it is her time she wont languish either but for now she is doing great. I used to tell them back in the 80's that they shouldn't eat butter or fat because that is what I read. Thankfully they would just laugh at me.

No problem as long as our meat is fed its natural foods and not grains in "industrial" units with no space.

"Meat" is not fed! Animals are fed! Meat is what remains after animals are chopped up after leading a suppressed life and then mercilessly slaughtered so people can eat meat they don't actually need.

Fantastic presentation, finally the meat industry is standing up for themselves and fighting back the destructive and dehumanising agenda. People who are aware of the value animal products bring to the health and well being of humans deeply appreciate all your efforts. I have improved the health of myself and my family dramatically by increasing red meat consumption and cutting out all the processed crap/sugar.

New vegan companies want a share from the market, and the best way to cater to millennial publics is through social media. They just need to make them feel they are important, that they are making a difference, since most millennials are lost and have no meaning in their lives they believe in these lies. while these vegan companies have huge profits and their stakeholders are eating wagyu meat, lobster and caviar while their naive costumers are eating grains and fibers believing it's making them healthy.

Loved this presentation, Frederic. And I saw fingerprints from our twitter community all over it. The slide of people ignoring the elephant in the room is a mainstay of Ivor Cummins' presentations (@FatEmperor). The point that there are more horses than dairy cows in the U.S. is a factoid I picked up from Peter Ballerstedt (@GrassBased). The convo between Frank Mitloehner (@GHGGuru) and the science director for EAT-Lancet is a twitter thread I've shared everywhere. And this lecture from @FLeroy1974 was brought to my attention by Shawn Baker (@sbakerMD). If you want to be sick, hang out with vegans on facebook. If you want to thrive, come to "twitter, where the meat-eating savages roam" (as @StickmanBleedin likes to say).

Take a look at the global picture. Such debates focus on the so called big western cultures ignoring the over populated countries which still eat meat and such diets are influenced by their religious practices... The education that we should focus on is "don.t waste" not don't use fossil fuel/don't eat meat/etc...

This guy blocks people on Twitter when he loses an argument. How intellectually honest of him. 83% of agricultural land is used for animal agriculture and it provides only 18% of calories. Vegan men have 9% lower IGF-1. In a study Chan et al found those with prostate cancer have 8% higher IGF-1, making the higher IGF-1 in meat eaters a significant risk for prostate cancer.

Protein intake increases IGF-1 levels in humans, independent of total calorie consumption.[10] Factors that are known to cause variation in the levels of growth hormone (GH) and IGF-1 in the circulation include: insulin levels, genetic make-up, the time of day, age, sex, exercise status, stress levels, nutrition level and body mass index (BMI), disease state, ethnicity, estrogen status and xenobiotic intake.
IGF-1 isn't such a bad thing anyway and can't be directly attributed to just eating meat. You zealot.

Meat is not the only thing people eat compared to a vegan diet. It's the processed food that's the problem it's not the meat. The WHO says there is a 18% increase in cancer risk, but the researchers who did the actual research AND are vegan themselfs stated in their conclusion that they could not say for sure its meat. They understand a 18% risk increase is statistically insignificant for their type op research. Even values over 100% increase would prove nothing, please understand science.....

sorry, but the increase of plant food will increase fossil fuel fertilizer production and use of mechanization to take care of plant foods and increase pollution, not reduce it. nobody is looking at all lifestyle of production of meat or plant foods. they just remove some numbers but they do not add compensations on other side.

    • @ngrey5092

also food waste.... vegans have far more food waste tan carnivores... I as carnivore empty out my stomach every few days and it is minimal waste, vegans go to the toilet multiple times per day and basically most of what they eat their body reject and it becomes waste.

Grass, hay, etc. is grown and harvested on land that can grow plant foods. So the argument that these are not edible by humans is not an honest argument. I personally know many fields surrounding when I live that would be perfect for growing foods, that are used for pastures.

The ruminant animals like livestock evolved with the soil microbes, plants, mycorrhizal fungi, birds, insects, and all the components of the ecosystem. Healthy soil needs the inputs and activity of ruminant animals that graze the way wild herds evolved in symbiotic relationship with fertile soil. See the work of the Savory Institute, teaching holistic management of livestock. Ruminants are important to the carbon cycle and to storing the plant carbon from the atmosphere into the ground.

Hay is grass - that has been overgrown and dried after harvest. Grass is extremely resilient, and copes well in most soils and most climates - and in the UK there are roughly 160 species of grass. Grass tends to have very deep root systems and put a lot of energy into coverting CO2 from the air, turning it into glucose and dumping the carbon into the soil. Grass stops the soil from eroding and helps filter the water into our reservoirs. And it doesn't need any ploughing, fertiliser or pesticides.
The UK has very poor clay-based and acidic soils, so grass tends to be the top choice for agricultural use.
If farmers could grow anything else with little effort to change soil constitution, they would grow more vegetables and fruit, but it's just not the case. And in a way, this is a blessing for the UK, as we don't have the level of pollution that the USA has because of intensified crop farming. Everytime you harvest plant food from the ground, and prepare the soil for the next crop, you release carbon back into the air. The roots of intensified plant farming never grow deep enough - causing soil erosion, flooding, and toxic chemicals washing off into water systems.
Because humans don't tend to eat grass as a staple food, we either put cows/sheep on grassland (to help boost soil fertility), or grow the grass without animals on it so we can have hay in the winter when the grass stops growing fast enough. Either way, all year round, we have a source of food because we have animals.

I will refute veganism in one sentence.
he human body cannot digest cellulose.
Bonus: High carbohydrates are found only in fruits and some agricultural foods. In addition, high carbohydrates are harmful to the human body. there was no agriculture before. and people cannot live only by eating fruit. no fruit is suitable for this. Also, even if you live in the fruit field, you will starve. Almost no plant contains high fat. However, the human body is suitable for ketogenic nutrition.

Finally, there is one more thing I want to say.
    ANIMALS DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
    THAT'S LIFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I'M GONNA ROLL MYSELF IP IN A BIG BALL AND DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
