This boss teaches you to use Soul Shield most effectively and especially Lightbringer. I see people not using it fighting this boss and that's the main reason they struggle so much. With Lightbringer your attacks lower her max Break Gauge, so her regeneration shouldn't be much of a problem. Without Lightbringer you're up to an arduos fight of exhaustion. Still probably the hardest boss I encountered this year.
For anyone that wants a quick way to completely decimate her in the second phase, use Void Knight's Runic ability when she uses Tri-Disaster, absorb all that magic as energy then press the attack button redirect it back at her. Cuts all her heads at once.
Was stuck on this fight for like 3 days, then I realized I needed to hit all the heads when she was bent over in second phase, sure enough first try w breaker skill absolutely shit on her
I love the FFVIIR graphics paired up with the Sekiro Shadows Die Twice stagger/poise mechanic in battles. Sure staggering an enemy and then unloading a bunch of critical hits before the enemy regains their balance is all well and good, but the Sekiro-esque deathblows, or Soul Bursts, is satisfying to behold and makes for more epic boss fights.
I beat her using dragoon with high affinity and white mage for healing. That Jump attack clears the breath attacks no problem and slices heads instantly, just keep at her until regeneration kicks in and repeat.
I remember my first play through with the easies difficulty i manage to beat this ass kicking hydra dragon for the time with the lancer just like you did but unfortunately i went through a lot of retries in my second play through the action mode difficulty so hard to beat this up.
i am surprised Bahamut did not even show up you think he would since this is a prequel maybe the Dragon King was just busy lol sad that don't get to actually play Garland Garland maybe you will in a DLC fingers Crossed

Nah its just to make sure your paying attention to the game mechanics. It even says in game in the tips that you should use Lightbringer + slashing weapon, then it becomes too easy

I may have cheated the second phase of this fight with the axe class.. I notice you gotta deal stance damage over health but I got a fully charged ground pound on all of the heads that almost led to a one-shot. The axe feels really busted in this game lmao
It's not just the Axe, because I did same with Katana. You need to setup slash attacks that deal break damage, then you can charge attack the heads and it destroys her in phase two.
Honest, just beat her on CHAOS difficulty. My advice, magic -> Ice or Ice imbued weapons and go for the heads! Such a pain in the ass I swear. But that feeling of finally RUINING her, can't be beat! xD
So glad this game at least turned out ok. I’m super disappointed with the way my two most recent anticipated games turned out, that being Elden Ring and Shadow Warrior 3.
@Elden Hollow I’m not happy so far with what I’ve seen in regards to player/enemy balancing, environment and level design, the writing/story, graphics, additive gameplay mechanics issues such as with stealth, the open world, the way music is handled in certain areas, bugs and boss quality control, enemy AI and Ash AI, the power creep of certain weapon arts, equipment and ashes, enemy attacks and models clipping through the environment, the crafting system, the reusing of certain assets, the lack of affliction damage source variety, loot distribution, PVP and Co-op mechanics, NPC questlines, Marika statue placement and overall thematic originality/ambition. I’d say personally that there’s parts I’ve enjoyed, but that as a whole I’ve enjoyed it significantly less the more I’ve played and that I much prefer other souls-likes and Fromsoft games I’ve played such as Dark Souls 2 and 3.
@@The1of1000 So you just personally dislike most of Elden Ring’s strong points because most of what you mentioned are parts of the game where it excelled at and why is so wildly popular. Seemingly the game just isn’t for your tastes especially in terms of balance, because no dark souls game has ever been relatively balanced tho at least in elden ring there’s waaaay more viable options than any other DS game at least in pvp.
@@blueeyeswhitekarin3267 Honestly, at least in DS2 I didn’t have to worry about enemies clipping through the environment to kill me and invaders running literal instakill AOE’s in PVP. And if you think that utterly impossible-to-do-without-a-guide quests that autofail when you reach certain points in an open-world, a plot that’s near-indistinguishable from Dark Souls, stealth that almost never functions properly, graphics that are inferior to the Demons Souls Remake, main menu music that’s repeated between multiple end-game boss fights, enemy AI that randomly locks up, loot that’s unevenly distributed and disadvantages certain playstyles for a majority of the game, Marika statues that are placed right next to bonfires, ashes where only less than a handful are useful and that copy-pasted gank bosses in copy-pasted dungeons are “strong points”, then I don’t know what to tell you
@@The1of1000 That’s a ton of false advertising you’re tossing around demon souls looks better but doesn’t play better nor has half the content. There’s are a lot of useful ashes of war intact people are say everything is op for that reason despite it being a bit of a hyperbole. The enemy ai are league better than DS2 even D3 ai was better than 2’s and I loved DS2. Loot being unevenly distributed is subjective and even then no one complains about that in any souls game, it’s like you’re making stuff up and being vague. Main theme playing during pivotal end game boss encounters sounds normal to me but sure it’d be nice to have unique themes instead. Dark souls game are never known for top tier plots but they’re interesting and definitely spark lore conversations and even entire UA-cam channels/videos dedicated to them. Darks souls 2 pvp (which I loved and have over 1000hrs in) had easy 1shot magic, backstabbing, and especially broken parry weapon that led to 1 shots as well. Remember Havel armor with the jester chest piece so you couldn’t back stab them as they fish for parries that would insta kill you???
@@blueeyeswhitekarin3267 “False Advertising”? The enemy AI legitimately is broken. Have you fought the Putrid Tree Spirit next to Radahan? I only was able to kill the thing because it’s AI froze lmao. The godskin apostle and noble both obviously read inputs and half the enemies will get stuck on geometry and attack you through walls like the prawn miners and dragons. And the AI definitely isn’t better than DS3’s AI because it often legitimately is DS3’s AI. The dungeon imps are literally reskins of DS3’s thralls, the giant crabs are the exact same DS3 giant crabs and I’m pretty sure the bloodhound knights are reskinned outrider knights. The story/plot by the way was heavily marketed as being “top tier”. That’s why From touted the fact they brought on George RR. Martin of all people and a big reason why I even considered buying the game. Pretty much everyone was expecting I’m sure at least something that wasn’t just literally Dark Souls. And I’m definitely complaining about the loot distribution because it took me until halfway into the game to find even a couple incantations that are even remotely as useful as the black fireball, which was the only damaging incantation I used since Stormveil, because you’re otherwise left with like three/four other incantations which are automatically useless the second you leave Limgrave. I did happen to have pretty much every sorcery in the game though, because for some reason you get like 90% of all spells in Liurna. And also it’s 2022. From has made like five games with multiplayer at this point and there’s absolutely no excuse for why literal bugged instakill builds are still running around almost a month after the release of a game that’s supposedly a “10/10”. And I’m sorry for expecting that From would have at least comparable graphics to a lower-budget remake, for their flagship triple A game that they worked on for six years and is a 2022 release in the age of next-gen consoles and RTX cards. I just don’t know what to tell you here, outside of the fact I heavily disagree with your opinion and general assessment of the game and that I feel as though From definitely didn’t hit my personal expectations for what I thought they’d be capable of. Not sure how any of this is even remotely vague.
