@@user98344 According to the video they said that a “pure philosophical” death would be to die for something (whatever that may be) while you are young, which while virtuous (in an idealistic sort of way), is not “philosophically” pure in the slightest. Purity is the clearest expression of the self (both individual and universal), that is someone who is completely IMPERSONAL (has no ego, selfless) yet is also completely INDIVIDUALIZED (they know themselves and their right to freedom, their abilities and how they can be useful to others). That is purity.
Maybe dying in combat at age 10 is a better and more heroic death than dying at 70 in bed, but is it a better life?

Also the idea of becoming impure as you get older is fallacious, I’ve seen older people become pure, more pure than they ever could have otherwise.
