Evan never thought weight-loss surgery was an option for him and believed he just needed to diet and lose weight on his own. As he got older, Evan continued to gain weight despite his weight loss efforts through every program possible. This changed when a friend, who had already had gastric bypass, encouraged him to attend a class and learn more about the weight-loss journey process. One thing led to the next. Evan has lost over 180 pounds since his vertical sleeve gastrectomy and the greatest victory and joy was being able to ride roller coasters this past summer and feel like a kid again. As a PatientPartner™ Evan wants patients to know that this is a real option, and to support others like how he was supported through his weight loss journey.
