@bobmcmillen4502 Bob, all of these super duper Calibers do work. Bullet drop is less; range extended, but in real world common shooting distances, All of the PRC, 28 Nosler, Weatherby ect stuff, does not Negate the 308 cal, 30 06 cal, 270 cal, ect, which is Time Tested. My wife use to live and hunt in Wyoming, and her kids hunt Elk big Time. They all did just fine. Admittedly, her boys Jumped on the 6.5 , 7mmPrc band wagon; Super expensive Rifles, scopes, but they make the big bucks out their. Famed Gun Writer, Wyoming Resident, Jim Zumbo and his 3006cal can attest to.... That's all you really need!
@@eugenegress5896 I agree. I have 2 6.5 Prc’s and 2 7 Prc’s . But my 30-06 and 270 win and 338 win are all ballistically deadly out to 1000 yards w my reloads. The only guns I don’t like are inaccurate guns😂
All these years my Remington model 600 has a reason to be remade!!!! Best bolt rifle for deer hunting ever made 😮!!!! I got two of them I'd love a reason for a remake !!!! That guns big caliber of the day has rem. 300 !!!! Shot that as a kid😢it hurts
👨🏫 AS AN ENGINEER, I LIKE THE DESIGN, BUT...I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM FILLING MY HUNTING TAGS WITH A STANDARD 270 OR 30-06! IF YOU DO, THEN YOU HAVE "BIGGER PROBLEMS" THAN JUST THE CARTRIDGE! 🤭
@maxximus2012 My Biggest Concern Is That The Manufacturers Do Away With All The Legacy Cartridges and Replace Them With Ones We Can't Reload! What That Does is Allow The Companies To Charge Whatever Price They Want and The Government The Ability To Disarm The People! It is a Very Concerning Move! 🤔
@@RON-m8c yeah don't think that is gonna happen anytime soon. This isn't going to replace anything you have now it is just another option to have for short barrel work keeping velocities up for hunting so you still have great energy on target. try pushing a 155gr bullet out of an 06 to 2900 fps with a 16.5" barrel lol.
From a specs point you’re spot on. From a business standpoint, gun and ammo companies have to bring products to market to stay in business. This is especially true in today’s world of I have to have the latest and greatest of something.
Is this steel case reloadable? What does the factory ammo cost? $5 per round? How bad is the barrel throat erosion at 80K psi? How bad is the muzzle blast? What's the muzzle psi on that 20" barrel? Is anyone answering these questions?
PSI doesn't cause throat erosion. Burning powder does. Federal states it's reloadable, but cases can't be annealed. Cost? Nobody has disclosed that. My guess it will be around $3.00 a round.
From what I’ve seen from other reputable rifle builders this new cartridge is not accurate. I believe in order for it to be accurate. They’re gonna have to back the velocities off therefore basically all you have is a steel cased 280 AI.
@jjmckay6man1 I cr I chronograph all my loads and have my own private range out to 500 yards. I said I was getting this velocity, not that it was safe or accurate. The .300 wsm will also achieve these velocities, your doubts mean nothing in a world of fact. I love all cartridges regardless of ballistic charts and have more rifles in more chamberings than most men will ever hope to have. Firearms and hunting are a major part of my life I don't tell tall tales or big buck stories I put meat in the freezer and antlers on the wall. Regards from the Goulding Cr. I’ve never seen so much marketing done in one day on a cartridge before. They did a good job on keeping this hush from the public.
I get it, amazing..., but will only be a flash in the pan, one hit wonder !
Evidently you weren’t on UA-cam when Hornady released the 7 Prc

Hi Tom! This new cartridge looks very interesting! Are you going to hunt with it?
Backfire Jim said they are working on reload support for it also ron spomer said so

It doesn’t compete with 30-06 or any legacy cartridge.

LH shooting a RH bolt. I can identify. Tom I'm surprised you didn't get someone to send you one of their LH bolties.
I'll wait for long term facts on this one.

According to Ron Spomer it’s about the same barrel life as a 280 AI

@@snakeman48 they said same as prc ammo which I'm seeing under $2 a round right now on ammo seek.
What rifle are you using that has this chambering?
Hey Tom, is this relodable? What case head diameter is it?
Now they can make the 30-25. The 30-06 great grandson that is close to 300 RUM performance.
DOA.
No dies, Primers, Cases, Data and only 7/8th a Walmart fed 7 Remington.
Not a fan of short barrels either.
The end!
great way to speed up throat errosion

I’ve seen several posting half moa groups 🤷🏻♂️
My .300 rcm pushes the factory 178gr. eldx at 2900fps out of 20" barrel and does much better when hand loaded with super performance powder(3000fps).
lol max load with a 24" barrel only does 2900 so doubt you are getting those speeds out of a 20 haha.

VERY COOL, AWSOME...., BUT WILL BE A FLASH IN THE PAN..., one hit Wonder. Just like all the Short Magnums. Long Range Hunter Boys will latch onto it.
