For me paragliding means ultimate freedom, being able to explore whats beyond human imagination, enjoy in amazing hike and fly scenarios, hike or climb mountains and then take off and fly, cover long distance in the sky flying XC paragliding, do it all year long and so much more! Oh and most important one is that paragliding is one of this sports that will simply force you to spent more time outdoors in the nature.

Yeah, except it's stupid expensive for training. Most places here in the US charge as much for training as private pilot flight schools do, which doesn't make sense (since the gear costs waaay less than a Cessna 152 to purchase, and for maintenance).

It's true, equipment, if new, is very expensive! I'm starting with second hand gear. The training here in México is about 850 to 1000 dlls.
Unfortunately most extreme sports are expensive.
Costs in the US:
$2500 to become an A (beginner) licensed Skydiver
$1000 to become a Scuba diver.
Then you have to pay for more gear and more training to gain access to better things/ locations.
Here in Germany I have been paying around 5.000€ for new equipment (Swing Miura RS + Independence Logo Pro + Some reserve for around 550€) plus school from beginning at zero to getting an A-License.
Surely its not cheap but most of these kind of hobbies unfortunately are not.

To be honest, the only reason you shouldn't start paragliding is that you'll regret you didn't start paragliding sooner ! But you better face a regret early than to regret all your life ;)

Paragliding is my greatest passion and I always enjoy my time alone up there. It‘s always a joy to keep some distance from the everyday life. And the paragliding community is truly awesome!! I‘m 15 years old and I enjoyed every single of my 120 flights. Awesome sport!!

Where I live, we have no mountains to launch from, so paragliding is pretty limited to towing. I've opted for PPG, which has many similarities. I've just started "paramotor-thermaling" which, once to altitude, I shut off my motor and attempt to just ride thermals like you guys. Paragliding definitely has more challenges to staying aloft; the flying is just different. ALWAYS looking for lift... With PPG, you can remove that element and just fly wherever you want to go. Have you also done PPG?
Oh yeah PPG is whole new perspective. Love that idea of going wherever you wanna go.. 😍 I've never done it... but its a dream. At the moment too much projects and ideas.. but PPG is on my list to do for sure.. :)) I can imagine you're having fun with it!! 😍😍

How do you shoot a video from different angles especially when you fly solo? Which gadget do you use for the purpose is it drone or just a selfie stick? Does someone else shoot your flight from behind? The cinematic experience is fantastic that's why I am more curious to learn about it!

Just last Sunday my first flight with some 360 circles and 300 m down to the landing spot. In between there is always time for a winch course, just to add some practice and to have all possibilities for later on.
Hahhaha!! Thats what happens most of the time...and probably ends up fighting with wild "jungle" haha :D

@@AddictionHappiness yeah I saw that and can do cobra but you had the whole leading edge out and on the ground with the trailing edge up which is quite different to cobra

Reason number six: It tells you a lot about yourself. You will find repeating annoying patterns of your glider handling / situational judgement in other aspects of your life, too. I would go so far as to say that like Tae-Kwon-Do or Ju-Do we need to call it Para-Do. A calisthenic sport that also educates your mind.
