there is no single answer for this as it depends on age, medical condition, necessity of scan, body part to be scan. even a single unnecessary ct scan is not acceptable. before going for frequent ct scan ask your health provider about its benefit against risk.

mri largely not good for abdomen diagnosis, except few reasons. it need to be checked if your illness can be catch by mri or not by your prescribing doctor.
