I am 71 and still love the Moody Blues.
Timeless!
Grt from The Netherlands
I'm 68, & I can't ever get enuff of the Moody Blues!😉😁👍👏
Right, I can't describe it..the subtlety and the power all cookin together! Something about those British bands..must be the 'tea' 😉😎
Hi, everyone. I just want to say how much I respect & admire John Lodge's restraint playing bass here. He mostly sticks to playing quarter-notes when other, less disciplined bassists might run wild. His solid tempo and consistent dynamics really anchor the rhythm section. It's a work of art. Plus, he nails blending in his backing vocals. He's a genius.
The Moody blues never get old. I’ve seen them three times in concerts.
Perfection! Best band EVER!
Great song! Love the guitar on it. Justin is amazing.
Totalmente de acuerdo !!
These guys have always personified dignity and quality. For them, it has always been about the music. If you want cynical songs about bummers, look elsewhere. They dare to infuse their music with actual melodies that are neither moody nor blues. They're just...well, a class act.
Well said!
Way to go ........the Moodies have sustained themselves for almost 5 decades now! This is the best song in the album Strange Times!
No doubt about it. These guys walked into a world of blues oriented rock and teeny bopper garbage. They set a standard for truly beautiful music. Both in music and lyrical quality that has not been surpassed.
I remember them being in the forefront of the LSD craze. They touched people's souls and that is a strong step in music. Great songs, well played and a heart that spoke to you. I love these guys and have since they broke. Peace and take care.
Music like this is timeless. Awesome.
I remember seeing this concert on PBS years ago, their music is timeless. Such a fantastic group of musicians.
you have to love Ray........................brilliant .
What a great song!!!
They are the best
what a brilliant piece of music and a great ending; best thing i've heard from them for ages
Saw the Moody Blues 5 years after this concert in Fresno, Ca. Great performance...
The first album I ever bought was a moody blues album back in the 60s when I was 15 years old, and here I am downloading English Sunset to my Kindle 50 years later. Their Royal Albert Hall concert in 2000 was a classic. Love these guys.
Great tune, and classically, instantly recognizable Moody Blues all the way. So classic, in fact, that even though this song was written in 1999, it wouldn't have sounded out of place on the much earlier Long Distance Voyager album, which surfaced in 1981.
Luv it always. I worked laying bricks to it!!
Very under rated song from The Moody Blues and one of my favorites...I've been a fan for over 40 years and Love this tune and singing to it...
I consider the best concert of the moody blues. My memory of Ray Thomas !!!
Since Go Now they are timeless.
I'll always be playing and loving the music of the Moody Blues
Strange Times track with the great heartbeat of England contained in it...watched many a sunset with this song in mind especially at New Brighton whete Justin Hayward played this live at the theatre there in recent years...there was a glorious sunset there that evening
Great performance!Classic Justin's Moodies' song!
My second favorite Moody Blues song.
I was there...
Days will be beautiful foe everyone I love you forever thanks
Very nice, thank you for sharing!🌹
Aside from their fantastic and unique music, I have never seen so many good-looking guys in my life..😍
A favorite, great concert this was, saw it in 2000
Still watching in 2021 April 🌷
I love this concert. Bought the cd ...enjoy it all of the time. This song makes me think of my dear friends.... Garry, Alan, Gary, and Donna. MB has got to be my favorite group.
Masterpiece!
My fav MB tune!
Classic Moody Blues
A most wonderful music. Hope they have yet another before my time.
Gods of Rock who have come to Earth to walk among us....
I Have learned so much from them about 1. Dream 2. Focus. 3 Work at what you love.
When I drove to my office, which was 100 miles from home, they were my co-pilots, keeping me safe...
..Brilliant and Joyful... Thanks Moodys......Amazing Performance...
Pretty scary to realise Strange Times is two decades old! I can remember this coming out like it was a couple of years ago. Gee! AND, apart from the Xmas album, the last studio album from the Moodies. In the late 60’s they’d give us a new album every year. Crikey, they could have done another 20 albums. IF ONLY !!!!
what a beautiful song...it sounded so cool...
Oh how much I love this song! Thanks for the upload, Jim
Is there anybody who doesn't think these guys are still delicious ?
Guess you'd have to be a woman of my age to find them delicious lol
ok not exactly delicious lol
Delicious? ABSOLUTELY!!! Then, now and always!
Sure...there are lots of people with no musical taste. 😎
Awesome! .. Just Awesome!!!
great song!
I named my son Justin , I have been singing never comes the day for what seems like a life time. It has been a light in my darkest hours TY JUSTIN
Brilliant!! Love this song Justin! Bravo! Thanks!
what a great album " strange Times" was. I'd put it right up there with the best. Great track. We were there on the night the album was recorded. Possibly the best concert I've been to.
GRUPESO. GUADALKAJARA. 🇲🇽🆗
Last beautiful song of this great band
Hopefully they make it to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018,they definitely deserve it...
Ron T. --yay! They made it into the Hall. Long time waiting!
Alas, the music business is as full of politics _(translation: bullshit)_ as any other, but the Moodies' exclusion from the R&R HoF is an injustice that has finally been righted.
See, the thing is, the Moody Blues don't care about that stuff. Of course, they graciously accepted when they were finally inducted, being the classy guys that they are. But for them it has always been about the music.
Maybe it's because they don't sing about bummers - and the fact that they have remained staunchly *_non-political_* - that they were shunned for so long.
But the truth is that you can find many groups who were inducted sooner who haven't been in the business anywhere near as long, or sold anywhere near as many records, or have anywhere near the following...across multiple generations.
I guess it finally became too big an embarrassment to the R&R HoF that the Moodies were excluded, and they finally inducted them in 2018.
That ES-335 sounds so good
Join me always never give up to despair tools to discouragement meant only to defeat You can overcome these moments I'll be there for sure lifting up
I'll be there
PLEASE MAKE THIS VIDEO LOUDER
Happy birthday darling man love to your whole Day .....may we always keep in touch ❤️🆗
Normally I'm a beastie-boys-fan - but the Moodys are really something special - so old and still so cool - still standing on stage with such a kind of classical rock - and if you ever listened to an interview with justin hayward: nice and still normal - a guy you would like to drink an ale in your favourite pub with.
However: this song is awful and has got a really splendid hookline! The best song after you started your car to make a trip to visit a good ol'friend! Excellent!
My favorite to you we may meet there ...😎😎😎🎶🌞🪶🐑
RIP Mike Pinder
And, the Sabbath drew on . . .
more tea vicar?
No requia here!
Rachel I totally agree so tasty especially Justin, just yummy
I always felt bad for Ray in the post-Pinder years. He was given almost NO songs to sing lead on, and had to stand there shaking his tambourine throughout all those Hayward pop songs. The Moodies were a BAND in the 70s; all contributed; they played together, just the five of them, no backup musicians and singers. After Mike Pinder left they were just a pop group of Justin and John, as they are in this sad video.
That sounds like the Album track. This is not live
